Today's third lunch was at "Taishu Robatayaki Tsukiji" in Adachi-ku, Shimane. The restaurant has a few parking spots nearby and offers counter and tatami seating. I ordered the "Maguro Zukedon" for 860 yen. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including grilled and sashimi options. The atmosphere is great, but I wonder if it's welcoming for solo diners during the evening. The Maguro was fresh and delicious, but the rice was hot and not vinegared. Overall, it's a place worth visiting, especially for those who enjoy seafood and drinks.

Returning to my hometown, we had a big family gathering. The most important thing was to make sure everyone could sit comfortably first (laughs). We initially contacted the restaurant in front of Nishiarai Daishi Temple, but they couldn't accommodate our large group. However, the branch in Shimane said they could fit us in, so we made a last-minute reservation and managed to secure a spot. Since there were a lot of kids, we ordered a few 2,500 yen appetizers to start with, to fill their stomachs. The staff, who were close to my grandparents' age, folded the wet towels into penguin shapes to entertain the kids, which was a lifesaver. However, the fact that the restaurant allowed smoking was a downside, as the cigarette smoke bothered the kids and didn't make it a very pleasant environment for them to stay long. So, we quickly ordered a few dishes and left. The food tasted more like home-cooked meals than izakaya dishes, with a friendly and familiar taste. There were plenty of menu options that I liked, so if I had more time to savor them, my rating might have been different. The sunken kotatsu tables were comfortable, and I wish I could have relaxed and enjoyed the food without any worries!

I had a hectic schedule and couldn't visit the restaurant for a while. I usually upload my reviews on Tabelog easily, but my iPad Mini was not working well after updating iOS, so I couldn't upload any images. Today, due to a cancelled work schedule because of the typhoon, I have some free time and am writing this review on my home computer. On October 5th, after work, I visited a restaurant in Nishiarai, a place I had never been to before. The closest restaurant to my work site was "Tsukiji," which caught my attention with its "robata-yaki" sign. The restaurant seemed to be a local hangout spot, with a parking lot across the street. I chose the "ginger pork set meal" from the menu. The dish was a bit on the salty side, but the meat was tender and the portion was just right. The rice portion was normal size. I also ordered the "thick omelette," which was served cold, possibly stored in the fridge. The restaurant seemed to be busy during lunchtime, and I imagine it would be lively in the evenings as well. Overall, it was a pleasant experience in Nishiarai.

I haven't been there recently, but I knew that the izakaya next to Tamamo, where I used to have breakfast soba, serves lunch. I finally made it just in time for the last order at 2:30 PM. It was my 300th review on Tabelog, and I decided to try Robata Yaki Tsukiji, which is close to my office in Shimane. The restaurant was quite spacious with a decent number of customers sitting at the counter, pondering over what to order for lunch. The tuna yukhoe was recommended, but the minced cutlet was also tempting. In the end, I ordered the minced cutlet set and a side of tuna yukhoe, but the female staff kindly advised me that the opposite order would be more cost-effective. I ended up with the tuna yukhoe and grated yam set with a side of minced cutlet, which was a thoughtful and fair choice. The food was delicious as well. On this day in July 2014, I opted for the sashimi set. Feeling that the sashimi portion was a bit small, I added a thickly grilled egg for an extra 100 yen, which was just right. They also offer stamp cards, so be sure to get one.

I cannot drink alcohol, so I went for lunch instead. I had heard about this restaurant before, but this was my first time visiting. It's near my place, so I often pass by at night and it's always crowded. The menu looked interesting and reasonably priced. There was even a tank with loaches on the counter! I wondered if they would be served in a dish like tempura or something. I ended up choosing the "Tuna Yukke and Tororo Set Meal" for lunch. It was delicious and affordable.

I wanted to learn more about Shimane (Note 1) and became interested in trying Shimane's food. When I searched "Tokyo + Shimane" on Tabelog, "Robatayaki Tsukiji Shimane Store" came up as the 7th result. It was surprisingly close by. It was convenient for getting to know Shimane! I visited for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was spacious, with seating for 65 people. I sat at the counter. It seemed like smoking was allowed as there was a smell of cigarettes. I ordered the sashimi set meal for 980 yen. The rice was standard, and you could get a free extra serving. The sashimi platter consisted of thick slices of flounder, amberjack, octopus, and tuna, all fresh and firm. The sashimi needed to be cut this size to really enjoy it. A bottle of furikake was brought to add to the rice each time, probably to keep it from getting damp. I sprinkled some on the rice, dipped the sashimi in soy sauce, and placed it on the furikake rice. It was delicious! Much better than eating the sashimi on plain rice. The crispy texture of the furikake added to the experience. The sashimi had a mild flavor, enhanced by the seaweed and bonito flakes. It had a slightly junky feel, but it was tasty. The miso soup seemed to be made with dashi stock, giving it a refreshing flavor. It was a great lunch deal. Note: Adachi-ku Shimane
