During my student days, I used to receive attendance cards from professors with my name and student ID number 205-585 written on them. I still remember this meaningless string of numbers. The number I remember now is like a budget that needs to be achieved, with such a high amount that it feels like it was just the wish of the management. It's a number that seems to be filled with desires, or rather the number of worldly desires that a person may have, which is often said to be 108. 108 is also the number commonly associated with Windows Japanese keyboards. On an English keyboard, it is the smallest number, and it was also the number of Dalmatians in a Disney movie and the number of proposals Tetsuya Takeda made in a drama in 1991. Today's lunch is at Maple Pizza in Room 101 of Asakusa Myokenya Building. I ordered Pepperoni Slice for 550 yen, Garlic Knots for 220 yen, and a Sprite for 330 yen. The Sprite was self-service from the fridge, while the pizza was served warm. The Garlic Knots had a chewy texture with a lovely taste of garlic and olive oil. The Sprite was fizzy and refreshing, slightly sweet, which paired well with the intense flavors. The Pepperoni Pizza was rich in cheese with a good balance of tomato acidity, a unique taste that felt familiar yet different. It was a moment of happiness savoring the deliciousness of the wheat flour and the accent of salami. I look forward to trying the daily special pizza and beer next time.

At the end of the 19th century, Italian immigrants who sought freedom and money crossed the American continent and brought with them American pizza. It transformed from the thick 10cm Chicago pizza to the crispy crust New York pizza, spreading to Japan. While Chicago pizza is visually appealing with its volume and impact, don't overlook the simple yet skillful New York pizza. "Maple Pizza" offers authentic New York-style pizza, and I tried the classic "Pepperoni" this time. Plenty of pepperoni on top of rich cheese creates a perfect match with the crispy crust. The wheat flavor penetrates your palate with each bite, making you smile involuntarily. It has a wild touch but still appeals to the Japanese taste buds. The best part is that you can get full with just one slice for 550 yen. Just be aware that there are no restrooms, so it's recommended to eat quickly and leave.

Located on a street where famous restaurants gather, this place looks so cute that it feels like it's not in Japan! There were quite a few foreign customers as well. I arrived around 11:40 am, shortly after they opened, but the Habanero pizza was already sold out! Amazing! I tried the pepperoni pizza instead. Delicious! It came with spicy potatoes and a cola. The cola was the type where you take it out of the fridge and open the cap yourself, which was fun. Thank you for the meal!

I happened to pass by and thought it was a café, but it turned out to be a pizza place. I decided to take a break and enjoy a slice of pizza. The freshly baked pizza was very delicious. I relaxed with a Dr. Pepper in hand. I thought they made high-quality pizzas at this place. It would have been nice if they had coffee too. Thank you for the meal.

I tried to go to the pizza place I saw on TV, hoping to avoid the crowds and go when the excitement had died down. However, when I got there, they only had one type of pizza left with two slices. It seems that they had run out of dough and were closing early. Despite being located in a back alley, the place seemed to be quite popular. The owner trained in America and the pizza they serve is in American style, with a thin and crispy crust topped with salami and cheese. Although I wanted to try their most popular pizza, it was still available until the end, which was surprising. The pizza is quite large, about 50cm in diameter, and is usually cut into 8 slices, but you can request 16 slices. The seating area is limited, so it's more of a take-out place where you can eat in a corner. The owner and his daughter working there were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, I would give this place a slightly lower rating, but I might go back to try their other pizzas or their garlic bread, as I often visit the area.

Pepperoni Pizza - ¥550 including tax A pizza with a crispy thick crust topped with sweet tomato sauce and pepperoni. It is a large American-style pizza that is cut into slices. Unlike traditional pizzas, this American-style pizza is enjoyed for its sauce and toppings. In addition to draft beer, there is a selection of various foreign bottled beers. Beer pairs well with pizza.

I visited Maple Pizza on a pleasant summer afternoon, recommended by a friend. When I peeked into the restaurant around 1pm, it was completely full! I took a walk nearby to pass the time and returned after 2pm. The inside of the restaurant mainly had tables and benches, but it was still crowded even in the 2pm time slot, so I managed to squeeze into a standing spot. There were about 4 types of pizzas like pepperoni and mushroom displayed in the showcase, and you could take bottled beer or soft drinks from the cold case yourself and pay at the counter. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza with bacon and pineapple toppings, along with a beer! The pizza had a chewy and crispy crust with a good salty bacon flavor and sweet pineapple, which was very delicious and went well with the beer. It was a pizza size that barely fit on a paper plate, but I devoured it all and would love to visit this place again!

Yesterday I left work early and got my hair cut in Kuramae. I had a late lunch at a nearby pizza place I heard about there. I had a pepperoni pizza and it was crispy and delicious. The place had a nice selection of drinks, a lovely atmosphere, and the owner who made the pizza and the woman taking orders were both cool. Tawaramachi, Kuramae, it's just great.

A New York-style slice pizza shop has opened in Asakusa! I couldn't get in on Friday night, so I really wanted to eat it and went out on Saturday morning. I ordered a Pepperoni slice (550 yen) and a Coca-Cola bottle (330 yen). You take the drink out of the fridge yourself and open it with the bottle opener on the wall. The pizza is served warm. I love American-style pizza, so I give the pizza a rating of 4 stars, it was incredibly delicious! I rated the overall experience 3.5 stars because I had some doubts and complaints about the shop itself. It's a hand-held pizza shop, but there is no hand washing area for customers! The toilet is also inside the kitchen, and although you can use it if you ask, it is not readily available for customers. You have to go through the kitchen where they make the pizza and where the ingredients are to get to the toilet, which seems unsanitary. (I wonder how they passed the health inspection with this setup. Maybe they were originally planning to be takeout-only?) Also, is this a pet-friendly restaurant? If it's a dog cafe, it should be clearly stated on the storefront. If it's mentioned, both dog lovers and those who are not fond of dogs can feel at ease. Those who are not fond of dogs can avoid entering in the first place. If someone unknowingly enters and a dog comes in while they are already inside eating, there is no escape, so please take this into consideration. The pizza was delicious, but in many ways, the restaurant left me with doubts or disappointment... I hope they will make improvements in the future. (Autumn 2022) It's located a little off the main streets like Kaminarimon and Asakusa Street, within a 10-minute walk from the Thunder Gate. It's on the same street as Lemon Pie and From Afar.

A great shop to stop by during a walk. Enjoy some American-style pizza quickly. Highly recommended. I love walking in Asakusa and visit the area at least four times a year. On this day, I walked from Minami-Senju and ended up in Inaricho after passing by Pan no Pelican and the fish izakaya Enshu-ya. When heading towards Inaricho Station, I spotted this shop. I couldn't resist the delicious-looking pizza and ended up eating two slices. It was so crispy and tasty that I finished them in no time, thinking "Oh, this is really good." Just so you know, I had already eaten tonkatsu and sushi about an hour before visiting this place, but I still managed to enjoy the pizza without any problems. This place is a gem.

A pizza specialty shop that opened on June 1st, serving New York-style pizza (owned by someone who trained for nearly 7 years with Pizza Slice). I ordered a pepperoni slice and a Dr. Pepper. The pizza was crispy, with a satisfying crunch when you bite into it, yet chewy and delicious inside. *The homemade lemonade was still being prepared.

I visited a new NY-style slice pizza shop, so I decided to try it out. While NY slice pizza is usually for takeout, this place also offers seating for dine-in customers. There was a bit of a line inside, so I secured a table first before queuing up. The pizza slices were quickly reheated, so the wait wasn't long. I ordered a Cheese slice (550 yen), Garlic Knots (220 yen), and a Budweiser beer (660 yen). The Cheese slice had tomato sauce, basil, and lots of cheese - it had that typical junk food taste of NY, but not as greasy as the ones in NY. The Garlic Knots, made from pizza dough, had a chewy texture and a junk food flavor.

It's very delicious. It's crispy and easy to eat one piece at a time, so it's great. My favorite drink is the original lemonade soda from the restaurant.
