On Saturday around 1 pm, there were already 5 people waiting outside the popular restaurant. The underground restaurant was not very spacious, with both the counter and tables full of people. The "greedy" lunch set with grilled mackerel with salt cost 2,190 yen, which is quite pricey. On the table, there was a large amount of grated daikon radish and a sprinkle of fish flakes. The freshly grilled fish were being cooked in front of the counter, and the hot grilled fish was served. The hot half grilled mackerel with salt was tender and perfectly seasoned, especially delicious with the generous amount of daikon radish and soy sauce. The sashimi included boiled scallops, red snapper, and even fatty tuna, and although it seemed like a small portion, the quality was top-notch. The rice was slightly firm, and we enjoyed a free refill. The sprinkles on the table, similar to a fishy-tasting condiment, added a nice touch to the meal. Overall, the "greedy lunch" was a bit expensive but worth it. The foreign female waitress and the older female staff were working hard in the small restaurant, which led to a bit of chaos, but the food was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

A fantastic restaurant where you can take anyone and receive high praise for the delicious food. Be prepared to wait in line for lunch, but it's easier to make a reservation for dinner. The seafood is a must-try, but the other dishes are also delicious.

Today, it was rainy so there was no line at Kadota-san's, so we decided to go in. We miraculously got seated right away at a shared table ♥️ The unique texture of the silver fish with rich soy sauce dressing. When eaten with plenty of grated daikon radish, you can't stop eating the rice. The miso soup had plenty of salmon bones in it. It was delicious with a hint of ginger. The total cost was a little over 2000 yen, which is a bit high, but the taste was worth it.

The underground counter in front of Ebisu station is spacious and quite relaxed, with about 30 types of Japanese sake available. They do not have anything other than what is on the menu, and the premium selection may be out of stock. I enjoyed about 5-6 types of Japanese sake, along with dishes such as cold young corn, assorted sashimi of abalone, tuna, sea bass, and sea urchin, grilled duck meat, and a choice between charcoal-grilled mackerel and cod. The grilled mackerel is especially popular and delicious, with a great amount of oil and perfect grilling. The proprietress is very friendly and easy to talk to. This time, I tried the course menu for 15,000 yen per person because I wanted to try a variety of fish, but next time I might try the a la carte menu. I will definitely come back again!

A friend who had been stationed in London returned, so we visited this place because they wanted Japanese food. The restaurant, located in a beautiful basement, was quite empty. The appetizers were good, but I'm a bit skeptical if it's really worthy of being selected as a top 100 restaurant. Although not a high-end restaurant, I feel like there are better options in the same price range. The most delicious dish was the grilled fish at the end. It was moist and exceptionally tasty.

Kadota-san is located just a 1-minute walk from Ebisu Station West Exit, making it a great location. It is a popular and high-end restaurant where dinner can cost around 10,000 yen per person and reservations are difficult to get. For lunch, you can line up without a reservation and get seated in order. Today, I ordered the grilled silver cod set meal and it was absolutely delicious. The silver salmon was also very tasty, and it seems like most customers order one of these two dishes. Lunch is priced under 2,000 yen and you can have unlimited rice with homemade furikake seasoning, which is also very delicious.

I had the Grilled Silver Mullet Set Meal (¥1,740). The fish was incredibly fluffy and the marinade was sweet and savory, making the rice go down easily. The red miso soup had a rich broth and was delicious. The meal also came with warm (or cold) tea, a moist towel, fish flakes, grated daikon radish, as complimentary items. Compared to other fish set meals around, this one stands out in terms of quality! It's a bit pricey but worth it! I definitely want to come back to this restaurant. ✌️

This time, I ordered grilled mackerel with salt, but since it's not the best season, the fat was not really there and it was just average. However, the grilled salmon that the person next to me was eating looked very delicious with a lot of fat, so I definitely plan to order salmon next time.

Visit Date: Weekend 11:30-12:10 Weather: Cloudy I had lunch at a Japanese restaurant located underground right next to Ebisu Station. When I arrived 10 minutes before opening, there were already 2 groups of customers ahead of me. By the time the restaurant opened, it was already full, and there were customers waiting outside by the time I left. As a solo diner, I was seated at the counter. A small dish (this day it was hijiki) was served first. I was asked if I wanted hot or cold tea. I chose the Grilled Gindara (Silver Cod) for 1,840 yen plus a Miso Soup for 220 yen. The Gindara was as delicious as the reviews say. There was grated daikon radish on the table, which was nice to have. The Miso Soup had a huge portion, making it difficult to finish. I think it's a great deal to be able to add it for 220 yen. You can also get rice refills, and I topped mine with the furikake on the table.

It is a traditional Japanese restaurant run by the owner, the wife of the founder. The head chef, Mr. Teramoto Yoshiharu, started his training at a Japanese restaurant in Wakayama City, honed his skills at a ryokan in Wakayama, and then worked at Japanese restaurants and kaiseki restaurants in Tokyo, Osaka, and Sapporo before taking over the kitchen at this restaurant. The restaurant is located across from the FamilyMart at the Ebisu Station intersection. The nearest station is a 1-minute walk from Ebisu Station Exit 2 (or a 2-minute walk from JR Ebisu Station West Exit). The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday (lunch 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, last order at 2 pm, dinner 6 pm to 10:30 pm, last order at 9:30 pm, last course order at 8:30 pm) and closed on Sundays. Today was a farewell party for a colleague. We have visited this restaurant for lunch several times as it is very close to our workplace (usually there is a long line). However, we had never been there for dinner before, so we made a reservation and decided to visit for this occasion. In conclusion, it was a perfect match for us. It is close to our workplace, everyone had only been there for lunch before (so there was an interest in going for dinner), the price was not too high (compared to lunch), we could have a great time with our group, the food was delicious! Especially the fish was outstanding! The variety of drinks was also extensive and very tasty! (The colleague we were bidding farewell to was going abroad, so the Japanese experience was exceptional). The landlady herself was very friendly and the service was great! The appetizers were jun-sai and yuba tofu, with a perfect subtle flavor. The soup had abalone and was very delicious. The sashimi was sea bass and fatty tuna. The sea bass was exceptional in texture and taste. The baby corn was incredibly sweet and tasty. The eggplant with sea urchin was a luxurious dish. The duck meat was truly delicious. The grilled silver cod set meal was a standout with its juicy and flavorful fish. The dessert was excellent. We had a variety of drinks including beer, lemon sour, highball, and various types of sake. All the drinks were delicious, especially the "Konchikichin" sake recommended by the landlady. Overall, it was a delightful farewell party, and we had a great time. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Grilled salted silver salmon belly set meal for ¥1,490. It comes with rice, red miso soup, pickles, grated daikon radish, and furikake on the table. You can get a refill of rice. It was around 1 pm and they were quite out of options like mackerel miso, but the silver salmon belly was tasty with decent amount of fat. However, the bones made it a bit difficult to eat.

I went back to the restaurant because I was impressed by the rich and creamy silver cod last time. I arrived a bit late, around 12 o'clock, and there were about 6 people waiting. However, as soon as the people who had finished eating started to leave, I was able to enter the restaurant shortly after. It was efficient that they took our orders while we were waiting. Once seated, we were served simmered dried daikon radish first. At this point, the chopsticks were placed on the plate as there was no tray (laughs). Soon after, the grilled silver cod set arrived on a tray. It was grilled over charcoal and had a nice crispy exterior. There were some slightly burnt parts, but with such a thick fish, it's expected. The burnt parts were actually delicious. I topped it with plenty of grated daikon radish and enjoyed it. The richness of the fish wasn't as good as last time, maybe due to the season? There was a portion of rice that was a different batch, and it was a bit mushy, which was disappointing. I left only the mushy rice and finished the rest, which was about 80% delicious. Although I didn't feel as satisfied as last time, the quality was still high apart from the mushy rice. Many other customers were eating mackerel or salmon, so it might be worth trying those as well.

The salt-grilled cod here is delicious with large portions and the dishes are tasty, so I often come here for lunch. This time, I came with my parents and everything was delicious. Today's second meal, I felt like eating grilled fish, so I visited "Shokusai Kadota" for lunch. It was crowded as it was lunchtime, but I managed to get a table at the right time! I ordered the following dishes: Grilled silver flounder with miso marinade 1490 yen, Grilled silver salmon belly 1490 yen, Fish broth +220 yen. The grilled silver flounder with miso marinade looked a bit burnt, but it turned out it was because of the miso marinade. The skin with miso was not burnt, and the flesh was juicy and delicious. I ended up having three extra bowls of rice because it was so good! My companion, despite being a woman, ended up eating four extra large bowls of rice, causing a rice commotion. The rice was just so delicious! The grilled silver salmon belly was also excellent. Many people were enjoying salmon, and I tried a piece. It was fatty and delicious. I have been to Ebisu many times, but I am a big fan of the grilled mackerel here. This time, they had a mountain of grated radish which I loved even more. The furikake at the end was also enjoyable! I'm sure the other fish dishes are delicious too, but I can't seem to stray away from the mackerel. Thank you for the meal ☺︎

I visited on Saturday for lunch! Waited about 30 minutes to get in. I chose the mackerel set meal from the wide variety of fish menu. It was a pretty large size, and I easily ran out of rice. I would love to try other menu items next time!
