In the world... it's Obon holiday!? Despite that, I received an invitation from my work colleagues to drink. Working without a holiday... can lead to stress building up!? After work, I got off at Kanda Station and wandered around the area near the north exit without a specific destination. There were many holiday-themed shops, but I ended up at this particular restaurant. I vaguely remembered visiting it once before the pandemic, and my impression was good, so I decided to go in. It was still early in the evening, and there were no other customers. A male staff member led us to a 4-person table in the center of the restaurant. We each ordered our preferred drinks and the recommended sashimi platter for the day. The response was quick, and our drinks were brought to us. We toasted to a hard day's work and started drinking. Soon, more customers arrived, mostly young groups, possibly tourists or returning home for the holiday. Before the sashimi arrived, our beers were empty, so we added kimchi and grated whitebait to nibble on. The sashimi platter arrived before we knew it. I asked the female staff about the types of sashimi, but I honestly can't remember any of it (laughs). However, the freshness and quality of the sashimi were excellent and delicious. As we enjoyed the food, our drinks kept flowing, and we couldn't stop ordering more. We added simmered dishes, sake-steamed clams, and shishamo. At first, the female staff in the hall seemed a bit reserved, but eventually, she warmed up and we had a good time (laughs). We had lively conversations about work and personal matters, and before we knew it, two hours had flown by. It wasn't an all-you-can-drink option, but I ended up having 7 glasses of beer (self-destruct). After settling the bill and leaving the restaurant, the female staff in the hall saw us off. It turned out to be a fun drinking party with friends.

I was looking for a place near Kanda Station to eat seafood, and I found this place. I was surprised when I saw the menu, it's really cheap. I don't drink alcohol, so I was able to eat to my heart's content for 1500 yen. The tempura was only 99 yen and the seafood yukhoe and tempura were all delicious. I was disappointed that the item I was interested in was sold out, so I want to visit again sometime.

Due to the relocation caused by the coronavirus, it had been a while since my last visit. After a gathering at Mitsukoshimae, I visited the restaurant alone. One thing I like about this place is that you can enjoy sashimi and tempura at a reasonable price. I ordered one dish at a time. It was delicious. Next time, I will visit again with an empty stomach.

Today, I visited the Kanda area and stopped by the seafood stall Okuman Kanda branch. It was already past 10 PM, but the place was almost full. Unexpectedly, it started raining outside. I started with a shochu highball. The staff, who said they were new, were very friendly and helpful. I ordered the following dishes: - Assorted sashimi - Chanja (spicy stir-fried seafood) - Grilled turban shell - Grilled shrimp - Grilled squid - Clam miso soup Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal. If I have the chance, I will visit again!

The lively and reasonably priced Okuman restaurant offers delicious dishes. Although known for their fish dishes, we were particularly impressed by their tempura. We initially ordered a mixed tempura platter, which turned out to be a generous portion with 7 different items, each served in pairs. The freshly fried tempura had a crispy texture and was very tasty. It reminded us of the affordable tempura at Hamachan in Ueno. During our visit with four people, we enjoyed eating and drinking for a total of only 3,500 yen.

It is a short walk from Kanda Station, with the north exit in sight. Great value for money! The sashimi was fresh and the tempura was delicious. The 5 kinds of sashimi for ¥769 is very cheap and reasonably priced. They are open until 8:00 PM even during the pandemic. They have alcohol disinfection and thorough COVID-19 measures, so you can feel safe. I would definitely recommend it.

I was getting a bit tired of Kanda and wanted to go somewhere else after finishing my errands, but it seemed like too much trouble, so I decided to have a drink in Kanda. I was a bit undecided, but relying on other people's reviews, I ordered the tempura seven kinds and okuman platter, which is quite a large portion for one person. I also ordered the mapo tofu and pickled plum. Delicious!

The prices are cheap, but the quantity and quality are not great. The clams steamed in sake had a unique flavor. The boiled beef tendon in salt flavor had a strong vinegar taste. The tuna was average, but the thinly sliced fatty tuna was too salty. The fried chicken was delicious. I wonder if it was just the dishes I ordered that were not good.

Feeling sorry for the situation, a businesswoman came from Osaka to Tokyo due to the resurgence of the epidemic, so we decided to meet up in Kanda for a drink! We went to Okuman, which they recommended and said was a chain also found in Osaka. Even though the menu is different from the one in Osaka-Namba, we had a great time drinking and enjoying delicious seafood. Thank you for the meal!

Arrived safely in Tokyo at midnight... Our accommodation this time is in Kanda...! The deciding factor was the abundance of bars in the area... Looking at the menu, I found some recommendations that go well with beer... - Niku-dofu (428 yen) - Draft beer (328 yen) I impulsively came in, but the draft beer is cheap... Great...haha Originally a seafood stall, so I should have ordered seafood... They have sashimi platters, tempura, and grill dishes as well...! But today, I feel more like having niku-dofu! Well, the niku-dofu arrived in just 10 minutes! The tofu is huge! The seasoning is like sukiyaki...! The sweet and savory sauce has soaked into the tofu and meat well! It's just a bit too salty with soy sauce... But that makes the drink go down smoothly...haha So, giving in to my thirst, I ordered another drink... Despite the late hour, there were salarymen having heated discussions, creating a nice atmosphere in the restaurant...! I personally like this kind of vibe... Thank you for the meal! ◾️Additional note When I paid, I was surprised to find out that, coincidentally, they were celebrating their 8th anniversary, and beer was only 110 yen a glass... On this day, I had some business to attend to at Ginza Six, so I made a stop in Kanda on my way back to have dinner. Kanda on a Sunday night is still as quiet as ever, with hardly any people walking around. The destination was this restaurant. Surprisingly, there were quite a few customers inside, even though it was a Sunday. We were seated at a table, and first ordered drinks. We got the Asahi Super Dry draft beer (299 yen) and oolong tea (249 yen). For food, we ordered onion slices (299 yen), assorted sashimi plate (699 yen), crab croquette (299 yen), tempura platter with 7 kinds of tempura (799 yen), and grilled turban shell (399 yen). The drinks arrived first, followed by the onion slices and assorted sashimi plate. The onion slices were topped with bonito flakes and seasoned, so you could eat them as they were. The assorted sashimi plate had 5 types of sashimi, and considering the portion and quality, it was a steal for 699 yen! The crab croquette didn't have a strong crab flavor, but the creamy texture was good. The grilled turban shell was served in a pot, with the grilled and sliced turban shell inside. Considering it was only 399 yen, it was good. And then the tempura platter with 7 kinds of tempura. It never came out (laughs). We had to remind the staff, and finally, the tempura arrived, piping hot. However, even though it was advertised as 7 kinds, most of the tempura were topped with pickled ginger to make the portion look bigger. We ended the meal with seafood salt yakisoba (499 yen). The flavor was good, but the noodles and seafood were lacking. We each had 3 drinks, and the bill was under 5,000 yen. Truly Kanda! So cheap~(≧∇≦) I hope these kinds of izakayas continue to thrive in Kanda. Thank you for the meal☆

Meeting is a flutter of billions, exotic excitement of life, exotic, exotic, Japan!! Located in the alley behind Kanda Station North Exit, there is a seafood stall called Okuman. The concept of this seafood izakaya is "Making millions of people smile". It is a rare restaurant in the Kanda area where few places are open on holidays and late nights, open year-round and until 3 am every day (as of February). There are over 100 seats on the 1st and 2nd floors combined. This restaurant is operated by "Kohmura Co., Ltd." from Osaka, with 26 stores in Osaka and Hyogo, 2 stores in Fukuoka, and 8 stores in Tokyo. Five years ago, when I visited the Shinagawa store, there were 13 stores in Osaka and Hyogo, and 6 stores in Tokyo, so it seems to be gradually expanding. I stopped by around 10:30 pm on a weekday in February. I started with a draft beer (299 yen excluding tax). It's a medium-sized glass of Asahi Super Dry. The daily special, Katsu sashimi (199 yen excluding tax), was already sold out. I had a mixed plate of oden (299 yen excluding tax) with daikon radish, konjac, and egg. The broth was light and refreshing. Since the draft beer quickly ran out, I switched to a large glass of Asahi Super Dry (299 yen excluding tax). It's the same price as the medium glass but more satisfying. Here, it's more fun to find the highlights from the daily specials than the regular menu items. I found tempura of rapeseed blossoms (99 yen excluding tax), so I ordered that. The tempura of rapeseed blossoms was very large, served with plenty of grated daikon radish. I dipped the tempura in the tempura dipping sauce with grated daikon radish. The freshly fried seasonal tempura was delicious! After 11 pm, people started settling their bills here and there. The two drunk people next to me were also settling their bill. After settling the bill, one of them went to the restroom and when he came back, the conversation started again. Both of them seemed a bit incoherent... "Huh? Did we settle the bill?" "Huh? Yeah, we did." "Did we really? I need to go to the restroom!" And when he came back, the conversation started again... Kanda, as always, with my drinking buddies. Found this place on Tabelog. Cheap and the photos looked delicious. Had to go. Monday, around 8:30 PM, 80% full on the first floor. Quite spacious. We were guided to the second floor. 50% full on the second floor. The interior is like a casual "izakaya". Wooden tables and chairs made from beer cases. A mix of salarymen and various people, from young to old. Mostly men and quite a smoker's paradise, which is rare these days. The menu lists prices excluding tax. No appetizers. [Drinks] - Draft beer 299 yen Slightly more expensive than Nichihiya, but still a good price. - Strong lemon sour 399 yen About half a lemon slice. Started with a 199 yen highball and ended up having endless lemon sours. Stopped at 2 drinks. - Hoppy set 399 yen About half a glass of Hoppy. 199 yen. [Food] - Boiled komatsuna 199 yen Served as a starter. Cold but tasty. - Okuman platter 699 yen Sashimi platter that everyone was ordering. Tuna, salmon, octopus, horse mackerel. All delicious. Above average for a chain. - Black cod simmered 399 yen Nicely flavored simmered dish. A bit on the salty side, goes well with rice. Worth ordering more at this small dish-style restaurant. - Tsubugai with garlic soy sauce 399 yen A crunchy and tasty accent. - Dashimaki 299 yen Better than expected. Comes with plenty of grated daikon and hot tempura sauce when you order tempura. - Red pickled ginger tempura 99 yen Generous portion. Refreshing. Delicious. Love it. - Lotus root tempura 99 yen Crispy and tasty. - Burdock tempura Generous portion. Delicious. - Chicken tempura 199 yen Soft and delicious. Good value for tempura. The freshly fried tempura and dipping sauce are also delicious. It seems like a new popular casual chain pub from Kansai, so the atmosphere may not be great, but the drinks are affordable and the food is cheap and delicious. The service may be a bit slow, but it's a good place for a fun and enjoyable drinking experience with friends, from 2 to 10 people.

I visited the restaurant after work. There are two floors, and the atmosphere is like a casual seafood and bar place. The prices are very affordable overall. I ordered a sashimi platter, stir-fried red sausages, onion slices, tofu, salted fish roe, and fried octopus. The sashimi was good value for money. The prices were reasonable overall, and I left satisfied. The close proximity to other tables gave it a lively pub-like feel. It seems they are open until 3 am. Thank you for the meal.

The izakaya is a bit hard to find, with a flashy entrance that makes it stand out. When you open the door, you are greeted by a lively atmosphere filled with the voices of salarymen. The place is always bustling, even on the second floor where drinking parties are in full swing, with everyone getting drunk and having a great time. Surprisingly, even as a non-smoker, I didn't mind the cigarette smoke. The sashimi platter for 699 yen is generously portioned with thickly sliced, deliciously fresh fish. The tempura, including lotus root and onion, was also tasty. Wash it all down with the strongest lemon sour and enjoy the endless refills. It's a great place to drink and eat a lot at reasonable prices, although it might be a bit intimidating for solo diners. Overall, I think it's the perfect spot for a group night out.

"Seafood Izakaya Okuman Kanda branch" I had my usual business trip to Tokyo. I was planning to quickly finish work and go for a drink, but there was a sudden heavy rainstorm... I didn't want to get soaked wandering around, so without doing any research, I sought refuge in this restaurant (⌒-⌒; ) This place is a seafood izakaya with a casual atmosphere. I thought I would be seated at the counter since I was alone, but I was directed to a two-person table instead (^^)/ I started with the "Hoppy Set Black @430 yen (tax included)"! It was quite crowded, but the service was quick, the drinks arrived in no time♫ My throat was dry, so I quickly finished it and ordered a refill of "Naka @214 yen (tax included)". I then ordered a few items that caught my eye! "Today's Special!! Yellowtail Sashimi @214 yen (tax included)" I wonder if this is the restaurant's specialty? The thick-cut yellowtail was fresh and delicious (*´∇`*) "Aji Fry @214 yen (tax included)" This seemed like a frozen food quality. It was decent for the price (;'∀') "Red Wiener @322 yen (tax included)" I always order this when it's available~ Out of the 8 pieces, there were 2 for the octopus lovers... A reliable red wiener wherever you eat it (*´∇`*) There were still more dishes I wanted to try, but I think 3 items were enough for one person~ The prices are affordable and the quality is quite good♪ I think this is a restaurant that can be enjoyed by individuals or groups. Work colleague's birthday party! The chosen restaurant for the occasion is a chain izakaya restaurant with its headquarters in Osaka. The restaurant is located just a few minutes' walk from Kanda Station's north exit, in a back alley with a large white sign and aluminum glass doors. We made a reservation in advance and headed to the restaurant. As we entered the restaurant, we found an open floor with tables lined up, and we were guided to a wooden table by the wall. The unique chairs were made by modifying seat cushions on top of a 1-sho bottle plastic case, which was an interesting idea. We started with all-you-can-drink and toasted with beer to celebrate. The edamame and assorted sashimi platter arrived, featuring seven types of fish including tuna, yellowtail, bonito, young yellowtail, octopus, sea bream, and salmon. The freshness and quality of the sashimi seemed good, typical of this type of izakaya. We also had tofu salad, squid chanja, and as the night progressed, more customers started to arrive, mainly salarymen and a few office ladies. The atmosphere was a bit quiet for a Friday night, but I personally thought it was just right. The conversation with my colleagues was lively, and we enjoyed a variety of fish dishes like tempura, tuna steak, and karei (flounder) karaage. The highlight was the simmered alfonsino, which surprised us all. Despite being frozen, the appearance of a high-quality fish in an all-you-can-drink course was impressive. We ended the meal with a seafood bowl and miso soup. While I would have preferred ochazuke, the seafood bowl was fitting for a seafood izakaya. Overall, it was a great night with good food and drinks. Cheers to another enjoyable evening!

I had a light meal at "Kaisen Yatai Okuman" in Kanda. First, I ordered a sashimi assortment with tuna, horse mackerel, salmon, octopus, and more for about 800 yen. It was a great value. For fried items, I had corn tempura, lotus root, and chikuwa tempura, which were also high value. I finished with stir-fried water spinach with garlic. The total cost for one person was about 1000 yen. It took a bit long for the dishes to come out, probably because it was the weekend.

Afternoon half-day on the go. It's tough wearing a jacket and tie in this heat ( ̄▽ ̄;) Back at the office, did a little bit of remaining work and then headed to Kanda. Saw a sign for a seafood stall called Okuman in a back alley near the north exit. Even though it's the beginning of the week, the counter seats were full, so I was seated at a table for two. Had sashimi with a cold beer! Cheers to the hard work~(* ̄∇ ̄)ノ, enjoying a drink alone (laughs). The Okuman platter had a daily selection of 5 types of sashimi. Tonight's platter had horse mackerel, fresh octopus, tuna, amberjack, and salmon. With sashimi and beer, my stomach was pleasantly full, so I asked for the bill. It came out to 1070 yen. What, did you think I didn't have enough money? Leave me alone~(-_-メ)

At a Sichuan kitchen, after consuming 7 to 8 bottles of beer and 2 plum sours, feeling somewhat satisfied with the drinks, we left the restaurant feeling a bit sad that the day was coming to an end. We decided to move to a second location, not knowing the area well. Led by a member who said, "This way is the station! That's what my phone is showing!" we found ourselves near Akihabara. Realizing it wasn't Kanda, we headed back to Kanda. Many places were full due to it being the weekend, but we found Asunaro, which had plenty of seating on the second floor. We ordered more beer and then debated between hokke fish and shirasu. As we were deciding, someone called out, "I'm hungry!" which signaled the end of the feast. We were served ochazuke, and I indulged in my favorite red Vienna sausage while waiting for the hokke. I love everything red, so I generously covered it in bright red ketchup and savored the flavor. Despite ordering eihire while waiting for the hokke, it never arrived during the nearly one hour we spent there. It seemed the hokke had eluded me and returned to the sea or ended up in someone else's belly. The next day, I bought hokke for dinner and finally satisfied my craving. Red is my favorite!
