This is a Tokyo souvenir, the "Hatoyamaya" pigeon sablé. I know it might be questioned as a Tokyo souvenir, but I bought it at Shinagawa Station in Tokyo, so it's definitely a Tokyo souvenir. The most important thing with this kind of souvenir is, of course, how delicious it is. In that regard, the pigeon sablé is excellent. Anyone you give it to will be delighted. It's definitely different from Nagoya's uiro.

Located in Ecute Shinagawa, this is a takeout-only shop. I used to live in Fujisawa and my grandmother used to buy me pigeon sablé cookies. Since I can't buy them locally, I purchased them out of nostalgia.
- Pigeon Sablé Cookies (Bag of 8): 972 yen
I bought the bag of 8 cookies for home use. The crispy texture is very satisfying. It's a nostalgic taste that I've been familiar with since long ago. I believe the taste hasn't changed over the years. It's not a trendy snack for Instagram, but I hope they continue this traditional taste.

I received my favorite pigeon-shaped sablé cookie from Toyoshimaya! The cute pigeon shape and crispy texture of the cookie are incredibly delicious. The ingredients are minimal and I think it is a cookie that is gentle on the body. I would love to eat it again if I have the chance!

At Shinagawa for a transfer... I decided to take a peek at Toyoshimaya, famous for its dove-shaped sablé cookies. I bought a compact pack of 5 cookies in a cute bag with a dove illustration. Every time I eat them, I wonder whether to start from the head, tail, or break them into bite-sized pieces... but in the end, I start from the head. The cookies have a crispy texture with a rich buttery aroma and a gentle sweetness. They have a comforting appearance and a delicious taste that has been loved by people of all ages for years. I was completely satisfied with this beloved treat. ◎

At Shinagawa Station, I was looking for souvenirs. As I passed by Toyoshimaya, I noticed Dove Sablé in a pink package. I usually buy it in a yellow package, so the pink one caught my eye. It even had a dove that looked like a girl on it. I had to buy it! I purchased a pack of 5 for 648 yen (tax included). The pink package. When I got home, we all tried it. The Dove Sablé with a buttery flavor was delicious. I have loved it since I was a child, and receiving it as a souvenir always made me very happy. Even as an adult, it was still delicious. I love Dove Sablé! Satisfied. Thank you for the meal! January 2018

I knew that Toshimaya's pigeon sablé cookies come in a cute pink box version with the fewest number of cookies, but I found a different version for New Year's greetings and decided to buy it on a whim. It's a light blue box with a large dog on it, and another version with a pigeon and dog in festive New Year's outfits. The festive version with 5 cookies costs 648 yen. The cookies inside are the same as usual, just regular pigeon sablé cookies, but they taste like they have a lot of sugar in them. I can't help but feel that the illustration of the pigeon looks kind of creepy though!

I used to go out of my way to buy the famous dove-shaped sablé cookies from the renowned Toshimaya store in Kamakura at Daimaru Tokyo store since they were not available for sale inside Tokyo Station. However, while traveling back and forth between Nagoya and Tokyo at the end of October, I stumbled upon a signboard at Shinagawa Station. The new store opened at Ecute Shinagawa South on November 1st. I hurried to purchase the dove-shaped sablé cookies with the same packaging as the main store in Kamakura. Although I have never bought them in Kamakura, it was exciting to find a way to purchase the limited edition product in Tokyo. I also gave one to my daughter. The dove-shaped sablé cookies are enjoyed by both children and adults.
