Located in Akasaka, "GoodTime Tokyo Akasaka" is a restaurant that combines Eastern European cuisine with entertainment. Traditional dishes such as borscht and pelmeni are served alongside dishes tailored to Japanese tastes by Russian, Uzbek, and French chefs. In the evening, there are live performances of guitar and violin, as well as magic shows, belly dancing, samba, and comedy. The restaurant is attached to a hotel and opens from morning. The lunch menu includes options such as beef hamburg steak with spicy sauce, borscht, Uzbek beef pilaf, and Uzbek spicy sauce pasta. Other dishes like samsa, halcho, green borscht with spinach, and beet piroshki are also available. All meals come with rice, lettuce and tomato salad, and a choice of coffee, tea, or orange juice. Wine or beer can be added for an extra 200 yen, and extra rice for 100 yen. The "Green Borscht," a unique dish that is a staple for Russians in the summer, was sold out, so I tried the borscht instead. The borscht, a Ukrainian beet and vegetable soup, had a gentle flavor from beets, tomatoes, beef, cabbage, onions, and other vegetables. The focaccia bread with dried tomatoes and rosemary was delicious. I ordered an iced coffee to drink. The chef seemed to have changed, as I mistook them for a Japanese person and they didn't understand when I spoke to them. It seemed like the salad was forgotten, but considering the reasonable prices, it's a casual and enjoyable restaurant to visit.
