I love tarako or mentaiko the most in the New Year spaghetti, which is made with expired canned food. I had a sudden craving for it and decided to go to a proper restaurant to satisfy it. I considered going to Saizeriya, but I didn't want to deal with noisy high school students, so I found a Jolly Pasta nearby and decided to try it for the first time. When I entered the restaurant at 1:20 PM, no staff came to seat me, so I had to press the call button to get their attention. Finally, I was seated at a table for two. The restaurant was quite busy with mostly female customers. I ordered the classic "mentaiko" spaghetti and waited for it to arrive. In the meantime, I went to the soup bar and got some egg soup, which was mostly broth with hardly any ingredients. After a 12-minute wait, my spaghetti arrived. It looked delicious with mentaiko, shredded nori, and shiso leaves as toppings. I can't eat spaghetti elegantly with a fork, so I asked for chopsticks before digging in. It was so delicious with the umami flavor of mentaiko, butter, dashi, seaweed, and shiso. The mentaiko was generously mixed with the noodles, making each bite flavorful. The noodles were perfectly cooked, easy to slurp, and had a nice al dente texture. I couldn't stop eating because it was so tasty. Despite the slow service and lack of ingredients in the soup, the spaghetti was above my expectations. Jolly Pasta impressed me with its variety of spaghetti dishes. I noticed that they didn't have Napolitan on the menu, but it didn't bother me as I'm not a fan of it. Overall, I enjoyed my meal at Jolly Pasta and would rate it 3.3 out of 5.
