This is a private room izakaya in Shinjuku. I was taken here by a friend who loves sake, and it was my first visit! On this day, we ordered a la carte. First of all, every dish here is surprisingly abundant and cost-effective! Especially the assorted dishes are a must-order! - Assorted appetizers: Ankimo with crispy soy sauce, marinated salmon roe, potato shio-koji, Matsumae pickles. You can enjoy various types of small portions, and each dish is delicious. Especially the Ankimo with crispy soy sauce is a delightful combination of melting fat and crispy soy sauce. - Fisherman's platter: Sweet shrimp, Okhotsk atka mackerel, cherry salmon, marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, flounder, engawa, salmon roe, Spanish mackerel. Look at the photo! This amount for 1,500 yen is too good to be true, and even unusual fish like Okhotsk atka mackerel and Spanish mackerel are fresh and delicious. - Firefly squid and broad bean tempura: A spring-like dish with two ingredients. Crispy and freshly fried, with a gentle touch of salt. - Muroran yakitori: Pork teki skewers with a satisfying texture! Very juicy, and the green onion in between was sweet and delicious. - Simmered cherry sea bream and shirako: Today's simmered dish is cherry sea bream with shirako! A delightful surprise with shirako. The sweet and savory taste makes you crave white rice. - Crispy soy sauce: A snack that goes well with sake. It's like eating chili oil, very delicious. I want to try it on tofu at home. - Crab miso-topped dashimaki tamago: Instagram-worthy! The crab is piled up so high that the tamago is almost buried! With six pieces, it's easy to share. It seems to be a popular menu item, as other customers were also ordering it! - Taraba botan shrimp: Not Taraba crab, but Taraba shrimp! It's expensive, but worth every penny. The rich crab miso is delicious, and the flesh is plump and sweet. - Sweet potato honey sweet stick: Sweet potato chips with plenty of sweet potatoes! Crispy and delicious, it can be enjoyed as a side dish or even as a dessert. The seafood dishes were particularly outstanding. With all seats in half-private rooms, the quality justifies a price 1.5 to 2 times higher. The speed of food service is excellent. There is also a sake sommelier available, and the sake lineup is great. The service staff were friendly and provided enjoyable explanations of the dishes. I visited in the evening, but it seems that if you make a reservation for four or more people by the day before, you can also use the restaurant from 11:30 to 14:30. I recommend visiting with two or more people. Visited the restaurant around 6:00 pm on a holiday. Even at this time, the place was quite lively. We were greeted by a cheerful older sister (waitress) who recommended some dishes. The manager also came over, and the staff were all interacting with customers at each table, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. This place specializes in sake, and they also offer suggestions for pairing it with food. We started with a platter of appetizers. The duck liver had a crispy soy sauce topping, and the other items like octopus vinegar and herring Matsumae-zuke were excellent choices to accompany the drinks. Next, we had a sashimi platter with sweet shrimp, flounder, squid, fatty salmon, bluefin tuna, all for only ¥500 for two people! Yes, all that for ¥500! It was a must-try, and each piece of sashimi was fresh and delicious. The squid, in particular, was outstanding. It had a juicy and rich texture that made me exclaim "delicious" involuntarily. We also tried the raw oysters from Akkeshi, which were creamy and rich in flavor. The Zangi (fried chicken) was hot and crispy, and the grilled Atka mackerel was thick and moist. The simmered fish dish with seasonal vegetables was sweet and savory, leaving a lingering taste. The rolled omelet was luxurious with plenty of crab and flying fish roe. The highlight was the Salmon and Salmon Roe Rice Bowl, which was visually stunning and tasted amazing with the combination of fatty salmon and rich salmon roe. We were so full that we had to call it a day, but the friendly atmosphere and delicious food make this place always crowded. Make sure to make a reservation in advance if you plan to visit. I found this restaurant in Shinjuku where you can have a private daytime drinking course, made a reservation, and didn't have high expectations at first. However, the sashimi was fresh, the meat was not tough, the crab had plenty of meat, and they even served appetizers, salad, tamagoyaki, and hot pot. The volume was enough to skip dinner, and the taste was quite good. Apart from the cleanliness and stylishness of the restaurant, I think it's a good place for a casual drinking party.

I visited with a friend who loves seafood. I was amazed by how quickly the drinks were served! And then, I was even more surprised by the $5 sashimi plate!! Everything we ate was delicious! I had a drinking party with my son at "23 Banchi" in Shinjuku. I couldn't get a reservation for a good time in the evening yesterday, so I went to Shinjuku two days in a row. I had booked a course and all-you-can-drink for a cheap price, but when I added things like crab and grilled crab shell, it cost about 18,000 yen. The course had a good variety of sashimi, but it was still a bit lacking. The crab was around 6,000 yen, but there was only one type and it was a bit disappointing in terms of content, so it would have been better if there were more fulfilling options even if they were more expensive. Still, overall, it was satisfying.

I went to a Hokkaido izakaya in Shinjuku for a trip to Hokkaido! Hokkaido Seafood, Private Room Atmosphere - 23 Band - Shinjuku Higashi Exit Store The name of the store is a bit long. It is an izakaya with semi-private rooms in a multi-tenant building, and even though I was invited, I didn't have high expectations. I thought they would only serve zangi and simple fish dishes. However, the food and sake lineup was amazing! The quality was also high! In conclusion, it was a very satisfying restaurant. I started with beer to wet my throat, then had Senkin Kabutomushi. It had a refreshing taste suitable for summer. I enjoyed a sashimi platter full of fatty fish. I also had AKABU (jade) and ICE BREAKER, which is served with ice. I was surprised that you could enjoy this lineup at an izakaya in a multi-tenant building in Shinjuku. I then indulged in a large-size fatty hokke and a large crab leg, along with Saku (Otomachi). Of course, they were delicious. I also tried the famous Hon-Zuwai crab dashi-maki tamago. For the finale, I had a parent and child bowl of salmon and ikura! It may be a cliché, but it's very Hokkaido-like! All the fish had amazing fat content, and the quality was extremely high. There are courses starting from 4000 yen with all-you-can-drink, but I highly recommend ordering these individual dishes! The food and drinks were delicious, the conversation flowed, and I had a very enjoyable time. Next time, I want to invite someone and visit again.

I found a charming restaurant with fresh seafood and delicious dishes in Hokkaido, with very attractive staff members! Location is about a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station East Exit. It's in a building on the 6th floor just off Yasukuni Street. We visited for dinner on a weekday and the place was bustling with customers. The semi-private seating was lively and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The interior had a slightly Okinawan decor, which personally got me excited. The manager and the staff were all full of energy and smiles. Right from the moment we walked in, we had a good impression, especially with the detailed explanation of Hokkaido dishes. They even had a sake sommelier certification, and the sake they recommended was really good. The quality and quantity of seafood in these dishes were exceptional, and the prices were very reasonable. Visited a Hokkaido izakaya in a mixed-use building in Shinjuku East Exit on June 11, 2023, and the food and sake were dangerously good in a positive way!! Hokkaido seafood, private rooms, at 23-banchi, Shinjuku East Exit store, 6F, 3-21-4 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, in the 2nd Sunpark Building. Today, I was invited by a friend to drink in Shinjuku! I didn't have high expectations for the food since it was in a mixed-use building in Shinjuku East Exit, but I was in for a big surprise (laughs). Oh man, the food and sake were seriously amazing in a good way!! Started with a beer to wet my throat and quickly ordered the "assorted appetizers" and "assorted sashimi (for 3 people)" that were the specialty and listed on the menu!! This place had a sake sommelier, so I asked for their recommendation. "Senkin Kabutomushi" arrived!! Ahh! Kabutomushi has a refreshing taste that is perfect for summer sake♫ The assorted appetizers included "Matsumae pickles," "Ankimo with crispy soy sauce," "Sliced herring," and "Octopus vinegar (using octopus heads)"♫ These 4 dishes are seriously sake thieves (laughs). Using octopus heads for the octopus vinegar, which is a common dish in Hokkaido, was fantastic!! Then the assorted sashimi arrived!! Today's assortment included "Sweet shrimp, salmon, splendid alfonsino, bluefin tuna, wild yellowtail, red sea bream." The freshness and fattiness of the sashimi were excellent! I added more sake to go with the sashimi! "Akabu Hisui (Jumai Ginjo)" arrived♫ Akabu is known for its red label, but this one had a blue label. It has a light taste, but the slight bitterness like grapefruit lingers, and it's delicious too! After that, we enjoyed dishes like "Extra-large grilled hokke" and "Grilled king crab," savoring the deliciousness of Hokkaido! The specialty "Bukkake dashi tamagoyaki with real snow crab" was not only delicious but also visually stunning like a tower (laughs). I also enjoyed sake like "Tamagawa Ice Breaker Jumai Ginjo" on the rocks and "Saké Jumai Ginjo Okayama Yumachi." Honestly, I underestimated this lively izakaya in a mixed-use building in Shinjuku East Exit! Among the "lively individual room izakayas," this place is quite delicious. The sashimi, ankimo, oysters, and clam yaki were delicious! Also, the photos come out really beautifully! It's Instagram-worthy! I would recommend it to young people. The staff were so friendly and wonderful. ◼️Food Consumed - Assorted appetizers (1980 yen) - Sashimi assortment (1500 yen) - Hokkaido Nishiurakai Konbu Mori-produced live oysters (580 yen each x 2) - Live hamaguri from the local area (520 yen each x 2) - Daily special: Red sea bream and young corn simmered dish (980 yen) - Local chicken zangi (680 yen) - Snow crab crab miso soup rolled omelette (1380 yen) - Salmon and salmon roe parent-child bowl (1880 yen) * Prices exclude tax!!! ◆ Assorted appetizers (1980 yen) - Ankimo with crispy soy sauce - Hokkaido herring with cuts - Matsumae pickles from Hokkaido - Octopus head with ponzu sauce I loved the crispy ankimo! The crispy chili oil soy sauce version on the fluffy ankimo, I really liked the texture. I wish they sold this as a souvenir! ◆ Sashimi assortment (1500 yen) For 3 people at 1500 yen, it's really impressive. No fishy smell and great variety. Today's lineup included sweet shrimp, seabass, seared goldeneye snapper, fatty salmon, marinated wild yellowtail, and bluefin tuna chu-toro! And they even have seaweed alongside the garnish! It's a good sign when a restaurant includes seaweed with the sashimi. And on top of that, they have flying fish roe! ◆ Hokkaido Nishiurakai Konbu Mori-produced live oysters (580 yen each x 2) Refreshing and creamy, so delicious! It's been a while since I had such large oysters to eat! Many oysters are mostly shell with little meat, but these had a decent amount of meat! ◆ Live hamaguri from the local area (520 yen each x 2) Oh! So delicious!! It has that delicious shellfish umami taste! It tastes like the sea! ◆ Daily special: Red sea bream and young corn simmered dish (980 yen) I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious creative dish! Unexpectedly, a dish with a sense of style came out! It's like fried tofu with a soft coating on the fish and young corn, with a thickened broth! This is so delicious, they should make it a regular menu item. ◆ Local chicken zangi (680 yen) If I ask someone from Hokkaido, they might scold me for asking, "What's the difference between zangi and karaage?" Leaving that aside, it's made with chicken thigh meat, which is great! (I don't like breast meat) It has a crispy thin coating, which is great. I still don't know the difference between zangi and karaage, though! ◆ Snow crab crab miso soup rolled omelette (1380 yen) An outstanding dish that looks great. It's a hit with Instagram girls. The crab was roasted, giving it a fragrant flavor. It's voluminous and a great option for sharing with a large group. It seems to be the restaurant's specialty! ◆ Salmon and salmon roe parent-child bowl (1880 yen) I can't eat seafood bowls (I can't handle raw fish on hot white rice), but this one uses vinegared rice that's not hot! I can eat it! The salmon roe was delicious. I was happy with the miso soup bonus, which was fish head soup. ◼️Interior It feels like a semi-private room! A lively atmosphere! ◼️Crowdedness It's full, so it's better to make a reservation! The age range of customers was wide, but there were more young people. ◼️Customer Service The girl with a short haircut was so nice! She was super friendly and it made me feel energized. The male sake master was also kind and nice to me! A kind world where even a quirky person like me is treated kindly. It's a big plus point.

There is an izakaya near Don Quijote on a main street with semi-private rooms and smoking seats, so smokers should definitely visit! The interior of the restaurant looked nice and bright at first, giving me high expectations. However, once I sat down, I realized that the menu was hard to read. I had to stare at it to make out the items, which was a bit of a hassle. But the food was delicious, so that made up for it.

We used the course for a group. To be frank, the taste of the food was like what you would get at a regular home. What impressed me the most was that the staff's movements were so efficient and precise, with no wasted motions at all! For example, when taking the initial order, they efficiently asked who wanted something other than draft beer. The service was quick too! Thank you, Mr. Sugai!

I came to the restaurant based on the good reviews about the delicious seafood. The oysters were big and plump, and the Saikyo-style simmered cod was especially tasty. It was the first time I had such a big oyster. It made me crave a bowl of white rice. I enjoyed trying out the various types of sake as well. I would like to visit this place again.

I headed to "Hokkaido Seafood Private Room Atmosphere - 23rd Street - Shinjuku Higashi-guchi Store" in Shinjuku to explore a new izakaya. Located on the 6th floor of a mixed building, the seats are a bit cramped but the food is quite good. The "Dai-Ryo Sashimi Platter (for 2-3 people)" is only 500 yen, and the "Hokkaido King Crab with Dashi-Rolled Tamagoyaki" is a must-try. Please join me in exploring new restaurants.
