A peanut lover's paradise. Among a variety of choices, opt for the vibrant raspberry-colored treat. The sweet and sour combination of plum, sugar, and peanuts is perfect for summer snacking. The staff explain each item with care, deepening your knowledge of the products. Rich in polyphenols and nutritious. The nostalgic feel of a traditional candy store with goods sold by weight is delightful.

It must be an old rice cracker shop in Tahara Town. I feel happy and stop in my tracks. Various rice crackers in a wooden frame glass case. It's a sight I like. Rice cracker... I prefer the flavor of strong soy sauce and crispy texture. This is delicious! Nori rice cracker... A rice cracker wrapped in seaweed on one side. The soy sauce flavor is light, highlighting the seaweed. Persimmon seeds... Small persimmon seeds with a light texture gave me a nostalgic feeling.

On the way from Taharamachi Station on the Ginza Line to Komagata Bridge, there is a building on the south side of the road with a white and green striped awning and a retro gold lettered sign that reads "Sendo Rakka Shoyu Hoteiya Nakatsuka Shoten". I came across it on my way back from Yabusoba at Azumabashi, and since then, I have become completely hooked. In front of the store, there is a glass case displaying various roasted beans and rice crackers, with prices ranging from 100 to 400g displayed. Since they are sold by weight, you can purchase them in your preferred quantity. In the back of the store, there are large kettles lined up, most likely for homemade products. My favorites are "Mame Gomi" (400g ¥920) and "Arare Gomi" (400g ¥1,600). Both are mixed with various flavors, each bean or cracker is delicious like an angel, and addictively good like a devil, causing the bag to empty in no time. When I mentioned this to the staff, they said, "Some customers buy them in 100g portions to take home." It's a bit off the main tourist route in Asakusa, but I highly recommend it as a personal souvenir (it's too delicious to give to others!). [Additional note] In July 2022, it was used as the location for the main character's family home "Asukenya" in the TV Tokyo series "Ultraman Decker". Props were added for the shoot, but the glass case in front of the store and the large kettles in the back appeared on screen. And the "Space Senbei" that appeared as a specialty of Asukenya is now actually being sold. The cute star-shaped bite-sized pieces received a great response.

On the way back from Tawaramachi to Asakusa, there is a shop along Asakusa Street that exudes a sense of tradition. In addition to peanuts, various other products are lined up inside the store, and the rice crackers caught my eye. I purchased roasted peanuts and peanuts, which were perfect as a snack with alcohol.

I have visited here a few times. Whenever I come, I always feel like it's there. I usually buy the rice crackers wrapped in seaweed when I go. It's unusual because they sell it by weight! It comes in an old-fashioned wooden box, and you purchase it by the gram. It's light in weight, but when you eat it, it's so crispy! I love this texture so much. I end up eating many of them, and it becomes endless. It's also nice that they have other delicious items. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

Visited Nakatsuka Shoten for the first time. It's a specialty store for senbei and okaki. Various types of rice crackers are displayed all over the place. I purchased a sample of the classic senbei to try. It was crispy and had a strong soy sauce flavor, reminding me of traditional senbei from the old days. This is the best of downtown. Plus, with the Skytree right in front, it's worth coming here for a stroll once in a while.

The usual salted beans were sold out. Even without saltiness, the crunchiness is enjoyable. A favorite snack for drinking at home.
