Second location of Zekeleff. The other day, I bought Earl Grey and Lemon Garden at the Kichijoji main store, and as soon as I opened the Earl Grey, it was delicious and I drank it all up quickly, so this time I went to the store in Asagaya which is closer. The store is located around the middle of Asagaya Pearl Center, with two bench seats and tasting tables for up to 4 people. This time, I wanted to buy Earl Grey and Puer tea, but they didn't have Puer tea, so I bought Earl Grey for 648 yen and Rooibos tea for 756 yen. I tried the Yunnan black tea which costs 2700 yen per bag, and the Darjeeling and Rooibos tea (the same as the one I bought) which cost over 1000 yen. Just like the Kichijoji main store, the tastings come in generous cups. So I ended up trying 3 cups (plus a small cup of Nuwara Eliya at the beginning). All the cups were Wedgwood. Hmm, lovely. After trying them, I realized that I don't really understand tea. I probably can't tell if it's delicious or not. It seems like it's more about whether I feel like "Yes, this is what I wanted to drink, I'm glad I tried it" at that moment. The Earl Grey here always satisfies me with its aroma and taste, so it must suit me. So I bought several bags of Earl Grey and some bags of Rooibos tea to enjoy for a while. *If you buy 2 or more bags of the same type of tea, there is a discount, so the more you buy, the more cost-effective it is.

Gclef is a tea specialty store with its main store in Kichijoji in 2020/06. They are a prominent store that also plays a major role in the Tea Festival. Although a bit pricey, they offer a wide selection of high-quality teas. I visited their store in Asagaya, which seems relatively new. The store is small but has an impressive display of tea leaves. The staff at Gclef are very knowledgeable about tea, but I wish they had a broader range of knowledge for a store of their caliber. I bought a tea called Shizuoka Iwata 2nd Koushin Suzuki Hideyuki 50g for 2000 yen excluding tax. The leaves are a mix of full leaf and OP type. The scent is slightly reminiscent of Japanese black tea, with a hint of woodiness. When brewed, the tea has a rich and layered aroma with a clear reddish-brown color. The taste is crisp with a slight green tea-like bitterness and a subtle Japanese black tea flavor. The aftertaste is lingering and flavorful. Overall, I found the tea to be sophisticated and refined, with a unique blend of green and Japanese black tea flavors.

I tried the 2nd flush Darjeeling and was surprised by how fruity it smelled! I love Earl Grey, so I also tried and bought it. The Nuwara Eliya seasonal tea was light but had a pleasant aroma. I usually don't like flavored teas, but this one had a refreshing scent. If you don't like bitterness, the Nuwara Eliya seasonal tea is the best choice. They also offer organic tea leaves from their farm, so I highly recommend it.

I went to buy New Year's gifts. I was able to taste and compare Darjeeling and Assam teas from different farms, and the customer service was very satisfying.

It seems like a tea shop where you can also take out your order. I thought it was just for purchasing, but they also have an eat-in option. They have a chai set (Masala Chai & Assam) and Masala Chai available in front of the store, which is tempting. When it gets cold, I especially crave "Chai." There are different preferences, so I hesitated a bit before purchasing. The amount when putting in is a concern, but there is a recipe available. I tried making it at home by measuring the ingredients according to the recipe. The Masala Chai is refreshing and has a round flavor... I prefer a bit more sharpness, but it is already delicious enough, so it's okay.

I quite like black tea, and this was the first time I had heard of this shop. I tried a few varieties of Darjeeling First Flush, and they were all delicious. It seems like this shop is well-known among tea lovers. The tea was delicate and tasty.

I wonder if Kichijoji is the main store? There is a tea shop called Siecle in Asagaya as well. The Kichijoji store seems to have a cafe space for eating in, while the Asagaya store focuses on takeout and enjoying the tea leaves at home. The tea is from Sri Lanka. It is sweet yet refreshing, with a clean and delicious aftertaste. The transparent color looks appetizing, giving a sense of deliciousness from the appearance. It has a flavor more like Chinese tea than black tea, making it easy to drink with an elegant taste.
