At Krungtep 3, located a 4-minute walk from Shinjuku-sanchome Station in Tokyo, you can enjoy a Pad Thai set for 935 yen. There are four Thai restaurants in the Shinjuku-sanchome area, offering authentic Thai cuisine. When I arrived around 2 pm, a Thai staff member was calling out to passersby outside the restaurant. Inside, there were no other customers, so when I placed my order, the staff member who had called me in started preparing the dishes. When ordering, the staff member asked me to choose a drink, so I opted for mango juice. Soon after, Thai iced tea, salad, soup, and a dessert similar to almond jelly were served. The soup, made with seafood broth, was quite delicious. In about 5 minutes, the Pad Thai arrived, along with a set of condiments including fish sauce, vinegar, chili, and sugar. The Pad Thai was made with shrimp, dried shrimp, bean sprouts, garlic chives, nuts, and rice noodles mixed with egg, resulting in a classic flavor. I added fish sauce and vinegar midway through to adjust the taste and finished the meal, which was very tasty. Thank you for the meal!

I was lured into a authentic Thai restaurant by a message at the entrance, where Thai people seemed to be working. I had high expectations and chose the Tom Yum peanut ramen from the menu. My companion ordered soupless ramen. As a service, a mini green curry came with the ramen-like dish, and soup came with the soupless ramen. The total price was 770 yen including tax, which was a great deal. They also accept PayPay. The Tom Yum peanut ramen had pho-style noodles with a tangy and flavorful soup, which was delicious. The noodles in the soupless ramen were different from mine, showing the restaurant's commitment to authenticity. The condiments in the fifth photo allowed for adjusting the spiciness. The tea had a nice flavor too. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

Rating 4.0 Visited around 1 pm on a Sunday. Despite it being lunchtime, there were no other customers due to the pandemic. I was intrigued by a dish similar to Gapao rice, so I ordered the Kaokapao Moo rice soup set for 770 yen. The food arrived in about 3 minutes. I mixed it lightly while breaking the fried egg. It was delicious with a strong garlic flavor. The set soup contained green onions and small meatballs. It was lightly seasoned and tasty. I added some spicy chili powder from the table condiments. Thank you for the meal!

Shinjuku Ni-chome has a different atmosphere from the Showa retro three-chome dining district. Walking a little from the intersection of Shinjuku Ni-chome towards Rokuchome, you will find this restaurant. I had passed by the front of the restaurant a few times, but on this day, I felt like having Thai food, something with an ethnic flavor. I looked up online and found high ratings, so I decided to give it a try. It was still early for lunchtime, so there were not many customers yet. I sat at a table and relaxed with a glass of draft beer. Looking at the menu, there were 8 lunch options. Although there was Kapao and yakisoba, I decided to go with Tom Yum Kung. They had Tom Yum Ramen, so I ordered that without hesitation. I was originally planning to get it as a single item, but after hearing the explanation from the staff, I decided to get the set. The set came with a salad, mini rice, and almond jelly. I started with the salad while enjoying my beer. It was so delicious to drink beer in the middle of the day. Just as I finished my beer, the Tom Yum Ramen arrived. It's my favorite ethnic dish. I ordered another beer to go with it. The soup had a fragrant aroma of herbs or spices typical of Asian cuisine, and it tasted just as good as I had hoped. I think the noodles were made of rice, which went really well with the soup. The half rice dish had a bit of Thai curry on top. I also love Thai curry, so it was a great combination. It had been a while since I last had it, and it was incredibly tasty! Tom Yum is of course delicious, and Thai curry is a great accompaniment to beer. After finishing the meal, I had the almond jelly dessert. It was refreshing for my stomach. All the dishes were delicious and reasonably priced. There seem to be other dishes on the menu, so I would love to come back for dinner and explore more.

Nice to meet you, I'm Chappy Jinbo. I'd like to request a favor. The restaurant is located at 3-9-10 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku. The phone number is 03-3351-5758. The nearest station is Shinjuku Sanchome Station. This time, I visited during lunchtime. I chose the Kaokapao Mu (pork basil stir-fry rice) from the lunch menu. I also got a set which includes salad, dessert, and a drink. The price including the set is 935 yen including tax. Considering the price and set contents, I think it's quite reasonable. The portion size is just right. The first floor of the restaurant feels a bit cramped and it can get crowded during lunch peak hours. That's about it. See you again.

Located in Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo. This is one of the four branches of the Thai restaurant Krungtep in the Shinjuku area. The nearest station is Shinjuku-sanchome Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, Fukutoshin Line, and Toei Subway Shinjuku Line. It is also within walking distance from Shinjuku Station. On weekends during lunchtime, they offer a special Thai lunch menu. Unable to travel to Thailand due to the pandemic, I decided to enjoy a foreign dining experience. Shinjuku probably has the highest number of Thai restaurants in Japan, and I have visited Krungtep 2 and 4 in the past, but not this one, so this time I visited Krungtep 3. Krungtep refers to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The full name is incredibly long ( ; ゚Д゚). At 1:00 pm, there were two customers in front of me and three customers behind me, all women. There were two Thai staff members serving, and their service was dry but not unpleasant, similar to a local eatery in Thailand. Despite appearing small, there seems to be a basement as well. After placing my order verbally, I paid afterwards. The lunch menu offers seven options, each priced at 770 yen. For an additional 155 yen, you can get soup or a mini rice bowl, salad, dessert, and a drink. On this day, I ordered the Kuaitiao Tom Yum Toa for 770 yen and added the lunch set for 155 yen. The mini rice bowl was Green Curry Bukkake Rice, and I chose Thai tea as my drink. Let's see what I ordered this time. The food arrived in about five minutes after ordering. The noodles were very thin Sen Mee noodles. I prefer Sen Lek or Sen Yai, but unfortunately, I couldn't choose. The soup, made from chicken broth, had a mild flavor. It's not the spicy Tom Yum type, but that's okay. The dish had various ingredients. I adjusted the spiciness, sweetness, and sourness using the condiments provided. The Krungtep group may not be outstanding in terms of taste, but their cost-performance ratio is excellent, making it a great choice for casual Thai dining. Now, I just need to visit the last remaining Krungtep 1 to complete the set. Let's go and check it out next time. #Thai cuisine #Krungtep #Basement available #Local vibe #Average service #Likely to revisit #Completing the set with the last remaining branch #Next time is the final visit to the main branch.

I assumed that Thai food would be low in calories, so I went to a Thai restaurant near Shinjuku-sanchome Station today. I have been to Thailand a few times, so I didn't feel like I was experiencing a foreign atmosphere. I wanted to eat Tom Yum Goong, but it wasn't on the menu (I don't think it's actually not there, but I couldn't find it... maybe). So, I ordered something called Tom Yum Ramen. It had the color of Tom Yum Goong, but the taste was different. It seemed like they adjusted the flavor for Japanese taste. It was very easy to eat. I was hoping for something more authentic, so I was a bit disappointed, but this could be good in its own way. That's how I felt.

I reluctantly headed to the Shinjuku area. After finishing a certain task, it was time for lunch. I felt like eating Thai food, so I decided to try Krungtep 3 in Shinjuku Sanchome for the first time. The restaurant is small, with a downstairs area and a terrace, and a waitress who looks like former sumo wrestler Fujishima (formerly known as Musashimaru) is handling everything by herself. She doesn't speak much Japanese. There are 8 lunch menu options, but I chose the C Lunch Pad Thai for 850 yen (excluding tax) and a large bottle of beer for 800 yen (excluding tax). I started with the beer, which was refreshing in the humid weather. The salad, soup, soft drink, and dessert were also served. The sour and spicy soup with few ingredients and some inedible leaves was interesting. The dessert was a coconut milk sweet potato dish. As I struggled through the sour and spicy soup, the Pad Thai arrived. The noodles were sticky, with crushed peanuts and pink dried shrimp. I added the typical Thai seasonings like fish sauce and sugar as I ate. The unique aroma of the dish was a bit strong at first but became more enjoyable as I continued. Two men in shorts, with beards and long white hair, came in and struggled with the language barrier when ordering. Overall, it was a unique and satisfying meal.

There is a shoe repair shop in Shinjuku Sanchome that I often use, so I visit a few times a year. Today, I came for such a reason and it happened to be lunchtime, so I popped into this shop. - Spicy Tom Yum Ramen Set: 850 yen I have been to Thailand a few times. The food at this restaurant may not be tailored to Japanese tastes, which is what I like about it. Therefore, it is quite spicy (laughs). It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Located at the Shinjuku Yanagi intersection, this Thai restaurant group in Shinjuku offers a lunch set. I tried the Kaao Puk Bun Brik Gaeng Moo Grob (918 yen), which is crispy pork and water spinach stir-fried in red curry. The lunch set includes salad, soup, drink, and dessert, providing excellent service. The soup was Tom Yum Talay with shrimp and octopus, although the octopus was a bit too fishy for my liking. The soup itself was delicious with a good balance of flavors. The red curry flavor in the main dish was not very strong, more like Pad Kana Moo Krob. The egg was more like a fried egg than a sunny-side-up, and it was fluffy. The dessert was Man Gaeng Bo, a sweet potato in coconut milk, which was a bit too sweet for my taste. Overall, it was a satisfying meal for less than 1000 yen.

Get off at Shinjuku Station. When you exit in front of Alta, turn right and pass by Bic Camera, Isetan, and Sekaido, then turn left and continue straight ahead to reach a Thai restaurant. The exterior clearly indicates that it is a Thai restaurant, and the interior has a limited number of seats. There are also seats on the B1F, but the staircase is steep and may be challenging for those with weak legs if not holding onto the handrail. The restroom is located on B1F. On a Saturday around 1 pm in February 2019, after using a temporary shop at Shinjuku Annex, I opened Pokemon GO and found a special raid boss at a nearby gym (Traffic Safety Pledge Statue). On my way to that location, I stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to enter after finishing my Pokemon GO tasks. The 1st floor was full, so I was directed to the lower floor, where I sat at an available table and a staff member took my order. They brought me ice water and a salad simultaneously. It felt nostalgic in a way. The LCD monitor on B1F was playing a program about Buddhism, either on NHK or an educational channel. The lunch menu included street-style beef noodles, spicy tom yum ramen, pad thai, rice dishes like gapao, and a soup of the day. The lunch set came with fresh salad, a dessert, and one drink, although the drink bar mentioned on the menu was not visible, and I was only offered coffee or tea when asked. The total price for my order of pad thai and spring rolls (which I ordered unintentionally due to a misunderstanding) came to 972 yen including tax. The spring rolls were not my favorite, but I hope to acquire a taste for them in the future. The main course was served with dessert, filling up the table. The ice water tasted different, maybe jasmine, with a flavor that seemed appealing to adult women. The cabbage salad had a sesame dressing, and the daily soup was spicy and sour with some seafood. The pad thai had a chewy texture and required some effort to separate the noodles. Since there were no condiments like fish sauce on the table, I ate the pad thai as it was served. The spring rolls were chewy with a good sauce, and the dessert was a coconut milk-based dish with sweet potatoes. The drink served was black coffee in a familiar size glass. It seemed that Shinjuku locals prefer black coffee only, as milk was not automatically provided. When I requested milk, the staff brought a portion for me, suggesting that milk might be self-service. Overall, I think I will stop visiting this Thai restaurant. While I might consider trying a Thai restaurant run by Japanese owners, I feel that my experience with Asian cuisine has reached its limit after several years of trying. It may just not be suitable for my taste preferences.

I visited a Thai restaurant called Kurunteep 3 in the Marugoe area of Shinjuku Sanchome. Despite the name "3," there are actually three other branches in addition to the one I visited. I have not been to "2," but I have been to Kurunteep and Kurunteep Midnight. The first floor was full, so I was directed to go downstairs. As I descended the stairs, I noticed a fragrant smell, similar to air freshener. However, I quickly got used to it. The basement floor was initially reserved, but it quickly filled up. It can be quite challenging when the basement is filled with smokers. Surprisingly, I found out that Kurunmee, a famous restaurant in Okubo, is also affiliated with this place. I have only been to Kurunmee 2. The Shinjuku Sanchome area has many Thai restaurants, but Kurunteep seems to be a major player among them. The menu is the same at all Kurunteep branches. The menu items and prices are listed below. Kurunteep offers a large bottle of beer as well as a small bottle, which is quite rare for a restaurant. I tried the Warm Salad Yam Wun Sen, Seafood Sweet Basil Stir-Fry, Shrimp and Fish Cake with Spicy Sauce, Tom Yum Kung Fried Rice, and Seafood Curry Omelette. The dishes were flavorful, but some were a bit too rich or spicy for my taste. Overall, the food was on the heavy side. It seems that the taste can vary depending on the chef even within the same Kurunteep chain. In my opinion, Kurunteep 1 is the most recommended branch. Total cost for one person was around 4,000 yen.

As usual, I had planned to watch one movie in the morning and one in the afternoon, but the highlight was definitely lunch! The first movie was at Balt 9 and the second was at Shinjuku Piccadilly, so I decided to stop by a Thai restaurant in Shinjuku San-chome that I passed by. It was the third branch of "Krungtep" in this area. They offer a lunch set with various options including salad, soup, dessert, and a drink for ¥850. I added fresh spring rolls for an extra ¥50 on this day. The spring rolls were healthy and filling, and the main dish I ordered was the "Crispy Pork and Chinese Water Spinach Red Curry Stir-Fried Rice." It had a unique and delicious spicy flavor. The soup and salad were generous, and the coconut milk dessert had sweet potatoes. For the lunch drink, you can choose coffee or tea. All of this for ¥900 is a great deal. I will definitely visit this place again when I'm in the area.

Near Shinjuku Sanchome Station, there is a Thai restaurant with three branches in the vicinity. The lunch set costs 800 yen and includes about 8 items, either noodles or rice dishes, each served with a mini bowl of rice or soup. I ordered the "Soupless Soba with Street Food Flavor" and my companion ordered the "Minced Pork Basil Fried Rice". The soba came with a mini green curry bowl, which was delicious. The basil fried rice came with Tom Yum Ramen. The soupless soba had a lot of ingredients, making it difficult to mix. The base flavor was a rich soy sauce similar to tare. I adjusted the flavor with the condiments on the table and finished it. I wanted to make sure to eat the green curry that came as a bonus.

In the vicinity of Shinjuku Sanchome, near the Imperial Garden, there are several popular shops, and this one is number three. Recently, a new shop called "Midnight" opened nearby. It closes during the day and opens in the evening, operating until dawn. It's an interesting idea to be open 24 hours in a city that never sleeps. This number three shop stands out as it is run by staff from Thailand, giving it a vibrant street food vibe and is relatively quiet, making it convenient. Today, I had a lunch set which came with a salad, a small bowl for noodle dishes, and soup for rice dishes, all of which change daily. The noodle bowl today was green curry, with a refreshing spiciness. The soup today was Tom Yum Goong, which is incredibly delicious with its perfect balance of spiciness, sourness, and sweetness, enhanced by the rich flavor of the shrimp. My friend had Khao Soi noodles, which are flat noodles in curry soup, with a smooth and chewy texture. The fried egg noodles added a crispy texture, making it enjoyable to eat. The combination of chicken soup, curry aroma, and spiciness, along with the sweetness and richness of coconut milk, created a distinctly Thai flavor. I ordered the Gai Pad Krapow (Thai basil chicken) rice with a request for a firm-fried egg on top. The jasmine rice was piled high, with a crispy fried egg on top. Mixing the egg, minced chicken, bamboo shoots, basil, and chili with the rice created a moist and flavorful fried rice. The sharp spiciness of the chili peppers made me sweat from within. The aroma of jasmine rice and the scattered texture in the mouth provided a tropical feel to the taste. After satisfying our appetites, a cold dessert of coconut milk and taro arrived, which we enjoyed slowly with hot tea, cleansing our palates from the lingering spiciness. The Thai black tea had a unique earthy flavor, similar to Pu-erh tea, and the refreshing taste of mint cleared our mouths. The clear blue sky above and the Asian ambiance added to the overall experience.

At a specialty Thai restaurant, with five branches opening rapidly, the food is delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff are cheerful and fun. Initially planning to visit the main branch, we found it fully booked, so we decided to try the nearby branch number 3, where there were still available seats. However, as soon as we settled at our table, more and more customers flooded in, quickly filling up the place. The popular and enjoyable meal tasted even more delicious. The Yum Woon Sen, freshly made with steaming glass noodles, had a distinct aroma of fish sauce and red vinegar that whetted our appetites. The shrimp paste wrapped in spring roll skin and fried was a unique dish. The fresh spring rolls were filled with lemongrass and coriander, giving a herbaceous explosion of flavor. The spicy kick was refreshing, like a green bomb. We also tried a new dish for the first time, a Thai-style meat croquette that resembled a small hamburger without breadcrumbs. The aroma of fish sauce and herbs was enticing. The balance of minced beef and finely chopped potatoes, mixed with herbs and cooked, made it intriguing why it was called a croquette. The Gaillan, a vegetable dish made from broccoli stems stir-fried with green chili peppers, and the spring roll-like udon noodles cooked in a sweet and savory sauce were easy to enjoy and made us consider trying them at home. Then there was the green curry with chicken, which was spicy and vibrant, served with steamed sticky rice. The small cylindrical steamer containing the sticky rice, wrapped in plastic wrap and heated in the microwave, was incredibly warm, but it couldn't be helped. Tear the rice into small pieces, roll them into a cocoon shape, dip them in the curry, and the spiciness transforms into a delicious flavor. The smooth and chewy texture, which melts in your mouth without being sticky, combined with the unique flavor and aroma of Thai sticky rice, left us satisfied and full!

I went to Krungtep 3, located right outside the C6 exit of Shinjuku Sanchome Station. The restaurant has about 26 seats and is not very spacious, but the Thai ornaments and decorations inside were nice. The lunch menu includes green curry with chicken, pork stir-fried with basil on rice, chicken yellow curry, pork and broccoli stir-fry, soupless Thai-style soba, Thai-style yakisoba, and Tom Yum Kung ramen. Each set comes with a drink, salad, and dessert, making it a good deal. I was in the mood for something spicy, so I was torn between the Tom Yum Kung ramen and green curry, but I ended up choosing the green curry. The salad was a fresh mix of shredded cabbage and carrots with dressing. The green curry was filled with plenty of chicken and bamboo shoots, which was satisfying. The first bite was filled with the fragrance of coconut, followed by a spicy kick. It was delicious, and I finished it all while breaking a sweat. I would like to try the Tom Yum Kung ramen next time. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch visit. Entered around 1:30 pm, the seating in the restaurant was about 50% full. Ordered the Gapao Rice. The staff seemed to be Thai. [Food & Service] - Overall, the food was quite spicy. Good for those who like spicy food. - The Gapao Rice was delicious with a strong garlic flavor. - The service was typical of a Thai restaurant. A bit rough around the edges, but acceptable. - The food was served very quickly. [Location & Atmosphere] - Close to the station, with a good distance from the shopping area. - The interior of the restaurant is typical of a Thai restaurant, with Thai paintings on the walls and Thai music playing.
