Komeda Coffee has reached 1000 stores, and to celebrate, they are holding the "1000 Queue Campaign." The fourth installment of this campaign offers an additional morning bread for free! I made it just in time before the deadline on September 10th to the Komeda Coffee Asakusabashi Ekimae store. The store is located on the second floor of a building right in front of the east exit of Asakusabashi Station. Komeda Coffee has a new yet retro atmosphere, with cute lighting fixtures. The main goal this time was to take advantage of the offer for an extra free bread with the morning set. You can choose the same bread or a different one, which is nice. For my drink, I ordered the "Komeda Blend (Morning Choice)" for 540 yen. I chose toast with jam, and for the additional bread, I chose loaf bread with butter, along with a boiled egg. The Komeda Blend had a nice balance of bitterness and was easy to drink. I added Coffee Creamer and sugar halfway through, which the staff recommended. The thick toast was satisfyingly crispy on the outside and fluffy and chewy on the inside. The strawberry jam was quite sweet. The Danish pastry dough was used for the loaf bread, giving it a light and fluffy texture. The boiled egg was served piping hot! I heard the next campaign will offer a free refill of coffee - I'm already looking forward to going back!

It's been a while since I visited at night. I ordered an iced coffee and a miso katsu bread. The miso katsu bread is still huge as usual. I came in to satisfy my hunger, but ended up feeling full. I like both miso katsu bread and shrimp katsu bread, so I wish there was a half & half option.

I always order the teriyaki chicken sandwich and cafe au lait, and stay for a few hours each time. I really like the atmosphere and service at this Asakusabashi store, so I often visit. I like to have the teriyaki chicken sandwich cut into small pieces, and the juicy and tender chicken is really delicious! ♡

I had a pumpkin Mont Blanc before trying this chestnut Mont Blanc, and it was incredibly rich and delicious, so I decided to have another Mont Blanc. This one also had a rich and slightly bitter matcha cream on top of a creamy matcha cream layer. It was not too sweet, smooth, and creamy with a soft texture.

After eating at Torumo and Kakomi, we came to Komeda to have shaved ice. My wife said the new Mango Jasmine Tea shaved ice is delicious, so we ordered. I got a mini Uji matcha ice (600 yen, I forgot that the Uji matcha syrup had become much sweeter than before) and a Jericho original (670 yen, an iced coffee with coffee jelly inside. It's delicious but I should have asked for no whipped cream). My wife got a mini Mango Jasmine Tea ice (600 yen, it's refreshing and delicious) and a Komekuro (640 yen). They said it would take about 15 minutes for the ice, but the Mango Jasmine Tea ice was worth the wait.

I can't forget the excitement of trying the Shiro Noir at a suburban Komeda Coffee shop in Gifu or Mie a long time ago, before they became nationwide. The contrast between the warm Danish pastry and the cold soft serve ice cream was genius. Sometimes I crave a calorie indulgence and end up coming here. It pairs perfectly with hot coffee. Shiro Noir is a genius.

Recently, Komeda has been quite popular (bitter smile). I arrived before 10 pm on a Saturday and the non-smoking seats were almost full, but luckily there was a single seat available. It's surprising to see so many people at this time. This time, I ordered Komeda Gratin for 950 yen, which is also one of my favorites. It's rare to see seaweed on top of gratin. There's also a baguette, so my stomach is satisfied as well. Thank you for the meal!

I haven't tried all of Komeda's food menu, but my favorite is the Ankake Spaghetti. ★Visited on a weekday around 9:30 PM★Ordered items this time: Ankake Spaghetti 830 yen, Iced Milk Coffee 560 yen. It has a nice spicy kick to it. It comes with salad and bread, so it's quite satisfying. The price of drinks seems to have gone up. Thank you for the meal~

I used the morning service at Komeda Coffee for the first time. Until 11am, if you order a drink, you will receive a free bread set. I had always wanted to try Komeda's special sweet red bean paste, so I chose the "Ogura An" option. The Komeda special Ogura An had a slightly grainy texture, which was just right. It was sweet but not too overwhelming, making it suitable for breakfast. The butter was already spread on the toast. The toast had cooled down a bit, and I prefer eating it piping hot, so I was a little disappointed. The toast was crispy on the outside and had a dense texture on the inside. It would have been even more delicious if it was piping hot... There was a unique service only at the Asakusabashi Ekimae store. In the summer, the air conditioning can be very cold, so I was pleased to see that they offer blankets for customers to use.

The restaurant was quite crowded. Maybe because it was Sunday? We waited for about 15 minutes. I ordered the flame-grilled chicken sandwich. As expected from Komeda Coffee, it was very generous in size. The flavor was teriyaki! It was delicious. Two adults shared it, each eating one, and we took the extra one to go. The gratin was also creamy and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the Katsu Curry Bread. Oh, it's definitely big. It's like the rice in a Katsu Curry turned into bread in terms of volume. The Katsu has a crispy coating and is delicious. The curry also has a good spice to it. It's just right to use as a benchmark to compare if it's tastier than Komeda's Katsu Curry priced at 950 yen. Thank you for the meal.

After eating ramen, I went to Komeda for coffee. During the state of emergency on weekdays, dinner often ended just in time for closing time, so it was rare to have coffee time after a meal! I was happy about that. I arrived around 8:45 pm on a weekday and was able to sit down right away as there were a few empty seats. I ordered the "Komeda Black" for 590 yen, which seemed to be a new menu item. It's a black coffee that Komeda confidently offers, and it was indeed very easy to drink. It didn't have a strong bitterness, acidity, or any off-flavors, making it smooth to drink, almost like American coffee. Komeda's coffee is usually too hot to drink right away, but the "Komeda Black" was ready to drink immediately. It took a bit longer to come out, so I wonder if they made it with hand drip. I prefer this coffee over their usual one, but it's 100 yen more expensive, so it's a bit of a dilemma (laughs). It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I had heard the name and menu items before, but it was my first time visiting. It seems to be a café in terms of genre, but the atmosphere of the place is more like a family restaurant. I had the impression that it was either very cheap or had large portions, but with just drinks, it didn't feel that way, just normal. It felt like a good place to meet someone and have a chat.

I visited the restaurant around 2 pm on a regular day. It was full, so I sat on a bench near the register and waited for a seat to open up. Since it was the end of September when I visited, they still had shaved ice available. I ordered a mini-sized Nashi pear shaved ice to finish off the season. The mini size at Yoneda's is equivalent to a regular size at other cafes. It was just the right amount to fill me up. The Nashi pear syrup with fruit chunks was delicious, and the rich ice cream on top made it a luxurious shaved ice treat.

For starters, the soft serve ice cream here was way bigger than at other places, almost like a rock. If you plan on staying longer, I recommend ordering a drink along with the soft serve ice cream and egg toast to fill you up. Although the soft serve ice cream this time was a miss, it's great that you can expect the same thing no matter where you go. This place really has the best of both worlds with cozy, plush chairs, outlets for charging, newspapers, blankets, and food that appeals to all generations. Considering the nature of the restaurant and its location, I think they could afford to lower their prices by 50-100 yen, but with all the above conditions met, it's hard to complain. In conclusion, it was a satisfying meal.

I often use this place. It is located just across the main street from JR Asakusabashi Station East Exit. I entered before 5:30 pm and the non-smoking seats were about 90% full, but I didn't have to wait to be seated. The menu I had today was Cafe au Lait for 510 yen (used a ticket) and Orange Smoothie for 520 yen. I don't usually find Komeda's sweets, especially the cakes, to be very delicious. The exception is the Shiro Noir. Despite this, I still end up ordering it when I crave something sweet. This time, it was okay and suited my taste. The refreshing cheesecake with orange pulp sauce inside made for a light and refreshing dessert. Although I didn't have it today, my favorite menu at Komeda is the pasta with red bean sauce. Komeda Coffee sells coffee tickets which offer some savings, but this particular store sometimes has additional sales, making it even more cost-effective. There seems to be a sale at the end of this month, so I might come back again.

Brunch at Komeda Coffee! Had some errands to run and decided to have brunch here. When we arrived, there were about 7 groups ahead of us, but we only had to wait for 10 minutes before being seated. Even though there were only two of us, we were seated at a table for four, which was nice because there was plenty of space between tables. Also, if you arrive before 11 am and order a drink, you get free toast! The toast with red bean paste and butter was delicious. I ordered a big size iced cafe au lait. The pizza toast had an egg inside! It was so tasty! I'm so full now. Thank you for the meal!

Lunch, what should I eat~? I've been a bit indecisive lately. There are a lot of hearty restaurants in Asakusabashi, but today I'm not feeling that hungry, so maybe I'll go for bread. And so, I ended up at Komeda Coffee Shop. It's been a while since I've been to Komeda. I wonder when was the last time? (It's been exactly 4 years!) In Asakusabashi, Komeda has a lot of single and double seats, and the seats have power outlets, so you can charge your phone or work on your PC. *When it's crowded, there's a 2-hour time limit. I was tempted by the spaghetti, but in the end, the ham toast and curry bread were in a close competition, and the curry bread won! I also ordered a generous size of Komeda Blend coffee. First, the coffee and beans arrived. The coffee is a blend that is not too strong and easy to drink. The beans are a staple of Komeda. And then came the curry bread. The tonkatsu is freshly fried! And the bread is oversized, as expected. This volume is Komeda. It's a bit tricky to describe this bread. But the most fitting would be "cushion." Yes, a slightly fluffy cushion. (laughs) Inside this "cushion"... I mean bread, is a pork cutlet. And since it's curry bread, it's topped with curry sauce developed in collaboration with Shinjuku Nakamuraya. Shredded cabbage is a must. The slightly sweet and delicious fluffy bread. The crispy tonkatsu. The meat is tender and very good! However, I am actually a fan of pork fillet cutlet, not pork loin. I'm not a fan of the fatty part of the loin. I can eat it better now than when I was younger, but I still don't really like the fatty part of the meat. So, I felt a slight stomach ache halfway through the first piece of the sandwich that was divided into three. But I persevered and finished it cleanly. Thanks to that, I felt heartburn in the afternoon. Sigh (tears) I'm ashamed to be defeated by tonkatsu. orz I need to train a little more.
