The back of the restaurant is a smoking section, with only a few non-smoking seats near the entrance. I don't smoke, so I sat in the non-smoking section, but the cold wind coming in through the window made it impossible to stay for long. They seem to have measures in place like heaters and windbreak sheets, but it's still pretty bad. The smoking section in the back is very warm though. Anyway, this time I had the Affogato, which I have been ordering repeatedly. ☑️ Affogato Espresso ¥410. Vanilla ice cream and espresso are served separately for you to pour over yourself. The amount of espresso is generous, resulting in a strong and bitter Affogato. It's also good value for money, so I recommend it.

I had breakfast while walking from Shinagawa Gateway to Tamachi. I had a focaccia panini with bacon and mushroom cream cheese. The panini was warm and delicious, but I was surprised that 4/5 of the restaurant was smoking allowed. I understand the situation though.

I had some business at Quingaku-ji Temple and the meeting spot was this cafe. I like the taste of coffee but my body doesn't really agree with it. However, I really wanted to drink a cappuccino ❤️ When I wasn't sure about the size, the staff kindly explained it to me. When I ordered, I got a freshly brewed, fluffy cappuccino right in front of me! I don't really understand the taste of coffee, but it was delicious. However, it was a bit tough for non-smokers as all seats were smoking. But I think such shops are necessary in the world. Next time, I will definitely choose the terrace seats!! The food menu also looked delicious, so I would like to try it.

There are too few cafes open past 6pm around here, so this one is greatly appreciated. I had a soy chai latte with black sugar tofu pudding and a double chocolate brownie with walnuts. The brownie was rich and easy to eat with a good size. The chai latte was customizable with cinnamon, which was nice. The entrance side is non-smoking, while the back seats are smoking. The red bean paste croissant is delicious. The art latte is cute. The interior is inspiring. It's rare these days to have no clear distinction between smoking and non-smoking areas.

The toast was delicious, but the interior of the restaurant was dark and kind of scary.

There are no stylish cafes near Izumitakeji Station, which is a problem. To pass the time until my appointment, I went to this cafe near the A1 exit. I had coffee and tiramisu blanc. The interior is dark and a bit worn out in places, giving it a vintage feel, but it's spacious so it doesn't feel crowded. The coffee and tiramisu blanc were both average in taste.

I used a free breakfast voucher at Keikyu Inn and ordered a panini set. When I returned to my room and opened it, there was no salad included. Terrible.

Segafredo Zanetti Izumigakuji store
I occasionally come here for work, which is located near the station.

Morning Panini Set (from 480 yen)
A panini with ham, cheese, and bacon. Comes with iced coffee.

Iced Coffee 350 yen
The size is piccolo, but the amount is normal. I have some time before work in Izumigakuji, so I drink iced coffee before heading there. It has a mild taste with a hint of acidity.
This chain store also has a location at Miyoshi Parking Area (uphill), and the pasta and panini there were indeed delicious.

This is a chain cafe that I don't see often in Kansai. It was near the hotel I stayed at, so I decided to go in and try it out. I really liked the atmosphere. I would like to come back again. I wonder if they could open one in Osaka. It was a weekday morning, so there weren't many customers, which made it a relaxing experience. I was so happy to see this latte art with my morning coffee! The panini was also delicious and hot. I definitely want to go back!

On a regular morning, I found out that the front seats are non-smoking while the back seats are smoking. There is an elevator inside the restaurant that can take you to a different store. It was a bit complicated. Unlike other chains, they don't have an Espresso con Panna on the menu, so I had to ask for extra whipped cream. The whipped cream was unsweetened and there was a lot of it, making it hard to tell where the espresso ends and the cream begins. It ended up being a whipped cream with an espresso-like flavor, which was quite interesting. Well, I guess it's not a bad thing, right?

After breakfast on Monday, I was in the mood for something icy, so I stopped by "Cafe Seffle" near Izumigata-ji Station. The interior of the cafe was long and narrow, with a slightly spacious area at the back where chairs were lined up closely together. I decided to order the "Croissant Set" (390 yen) for a morning-like meal, choosing a chocolate croissant and upgrading my drink to an aioli for an additional 50 yen. I carried my order to the sofa seats at the back of the cafe. I didn't notice it at first, but the lack of partitions made the area quite smoky, giving off a somewhat unpleasant vibe with holes in the walls. Despite this, the aioli was delicious and the croissant was average. Overall, I'm not sure if I would revisit Cafe Seffle even if I'm in the mood for it again.

I discovered a red and black two-tone color "Segafredo Zanetti" next to the A4 exit of Sengakuji on the First Keihin Avenue. It is a bar with its headquarters in Italy and has over 600 stores worldwide. It seems to be steadily increasing in the Tokyo metropolitan area. There is an outdoor terrace with three tables. The interior of the restaurant is spacious with about 80 seats. There is an elevator inside that leads to the entrance of Uogashi Yokocho or Gyu-Kaku on the upper floor. The morning set starts from 390 yen. You can choose from three types of morning panini and a set drink for 430 yen. I chose the Bolognese panini and an iced coffee. The panini was hot and crispy with a generous amount of meat sauce inside. The refreshing iced coffee was also satisfying. It's a convenient bar in front of the station.

Located about a 2-minute walk from Izumigataji Station, this shop was the first one I came across when I got off the train and needed a quick break. Upon entering the shop, I noticed that it had a spacious interior, with more customers near the entrance but plenty of empty seats towards the back. I ordered a coffee and took a seat towards the back. The wide space made it quite relaxing. Eventually, a group of people who seemed to be working nearby came in. This shop allows smoking, so they seemed to be using it for a meeting. Ah, I see, the back seems to be the smoking area. Since it wasn't too crowded, the smoke wasn't too bothersome, and I was able to take a breather.

Today, due to work reasons, I went straight to a client's place and took advantage of the morning time at a café in the Mita area. This café is a branch of the authentic Italian bar chain operated by Segafredo in the Tokyo metropolitan area. I used to visit this café almost every day for work-related purposes, but due to a transfer, I hadn't been there for a while. This time, it had been a few years since my last visit. The café is located on the first floor of a tenant building facing National Route 15, right next to the exit towards Tamachi of the Toei Subway Asakusa Line Izumadai Station. The entrance is shared with the yakiniku restaurant Gyukaku, and you have to use the elevator to access the café. What I noticed during this visit after a few years was the significant increase in the number of izakayas (Japanese pubs) in the area. Despite the fact that there should be fewer office workers in this area compared to Tamachi or Shinagawa, it was surprising to see several izakaya chains crowded in such a small area. This time, I ordered an iced coffee and a ham and cheese panini, totaling 630 yen. There are several set menus available, but the panini here is characterized by its crispy surface and deliciously baked flavor. In terms of portion size, it is better than other chain cafes like Excelsior Café, so I think it offers good value for money. The store has a deep structure with a relatively narrow width, cramming many tables in, which makes the seating space a bit tight and somewhat cramped. However, due to its 7:00 am opening time, it attracts quite a number of salarymen before heading to work, and this morning was no exception. The background music mainly consists of Latin music, so personally, I think it might be better to visit and relax on a weekend afternoon rather than on a weekday.

I stayed at a hotel near Shinagawa and Sengakuji stations on the Keikyu EX line, with breakfast included for just over 10,000 yen. For breakfast, I had the choice of dining at either "Segafredo Zanetti" or "Nakau". Feeling like having Western-style breakfast, I decided to visit "Segafredo Zanetti Sengakuji store" this morning. I chose the ham, cheese, and bacon panini set with salad, and a hot coffee. There were many smoking seats, but I chose a non-smoking seat near the entrance. The panini was delicious with gooey cheese and crispy bread. Energy replenished, I am ready to tackle the day! Thank you for the meal. Fall 2018.
