Today's lunch at Asakusabashi was at Tonkatsu Omiya. It seems like this place used to be a high-end tonkatsu restaurant before. However, this time it appears to be a regular delicious tonkatsu restaurant. So, I decided to give it a try. It was Sunday afternoon, and there were 6 people waiting outside. Considering the turnover rate of tonkatsu, I hesitated a bit, but my craving for tonkatsu won over, so I patiently waited in line. Upon arrival, you first purchase a meal ticket and then line up. I ordered the premium loin cutlet set meal, which is apparently only available on weekdays. I received my order within 15 minutes of waiting. The portion was quite generous and the thickness was impressive. The cost performance seemed good. The Himalayan salt was recommended here, with 3 types of salt available. The cabbage was served with sauce, which was quite ordinary but the sauce was delicious. The tonkatsu was juicy and flavorful, with a crispy texture and perfectly cooked meat. It was delicious with the rice, which was also tasty. I enjoyed trying the three types of salt and sauce with each bite. The miso soup was also tasty. Overall, I had a satisfying meal and will definitely visit again since I come around this area often.

On weekdays for lunch, customers come in one after another, but the turnover is fast. [Food] I ordered the pork loin cutlet for 1,500 yen. It was a thick cutlet with just the right amount of doneness. On weekdays, there is also a pork cutlet for 1,200 yen. They recommend eating it with salt, and out of the three types of salt, regular salt is the best. The crispy fried cutlet was delicious, with a nice sweetness from the fat without being too heavy, making it easy to eat. The pork miso soup was also good. [Ambience] The atmosphere is like a ramen shop, with only one table seat available. [Service] They greet you with a lively "Welcome!" just like at a ramen shop. [Overall] You can enjoy delicious pork cutlets at a reasonable price. It's a good place for casual dining when you feel like having pork cutlets.

I visited after a long time (^o^)!! I had the pork loin cutlet set meal (^o^)/!! Despite the rising prices, the price remains the same! I'm happy about that (^o^)!! There may be differences in the individual pork, but this time the sweetness of the fat was noticeable (^-^)/!! The rice and miso soup were also delicious (^o^)/!! I would like to visit again (^o^)/!!

I chose the 200g top sirloin for ¥1,500-. The premium option was 300g for ¥2,000-, but I opted for the top sirloin as it seemed like a more reasonable portion. The meat was fried just right, with a hint of pink remaining. I enjoyed it with Himalayan rock salt and sauce. I was so full after the meal. The plate was piled high with cabbage, miso soup, pickles, and rice. The miso soup was especially delicious! Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

It's hot. I'm tired. I'm hungry. So, I visited a nearby branch of the same restaurant I had my homework done at. I was lucky to get in without waiting on the third turn around 12:30. Of course, what else but beer! After an hour of walking, it was the perfect choice! "Can I bring you the beer before the food?" Of course! I poured the beer and thought, "Wow, the foam looks really good." But when I took a sip, it was flat! I was disappointed. At times like this, the wait feels even longer. The tonkatsu was delicious. I had been to the Daimon branch before, so I knew it. And they even have a grill here that the Daimon branch doesn't! It's great. Thank you for the meal. But, it was a shame.

I had been to this restaurant before, but it had been a while. The pork cutlet is still delicious. The first bite brings so much happiness. The meat is thick, the oil is sweet, and it is quite satisfying. The cabbage is on the left side, and the rice is on the right side, so you might think there is not much, but the meat is thick enough so you won't feel lacking. You can sprinkle the three types of salt and sauce alternately on the cutlet, and the slightly spicy curry is also good. The miso soup has a pork soup-like flavor with pork pieces and root vegetables, which goes well with the cutlet curry. It's nice that the meal comes with miso soup and pickles. Towards the end of the meal, the oil might feel a bit heavy, so it might be better to eat the fatty part at the edge at the beginning? The atmosphere inside the restaurant is bright, and the staff are efficient and friendly!

On Tuesday morning, around 10:50, I arrived at the restaurant and there was no line yet, so I leisurely waited a bit away from the entrance. Just before the store opened, one person lined up at the entrance so I joined behind them. At opening, I purchased a lunch set with a tonkatsu-like dish for 1,200 yen from the ticket machine and waited a bit. A huge tonkatsu that made me think, "Is this mine?" was served along with a bowl of rice and miso soup. I confirmed that it was indeed mine. It was so big! I squeezed some lemon, ate the cabbage, and then sprinkled Himalayan pink salt, Himalayan white salt, and another type of salt on it. It was delicious! Tonkatsu is really tasty with salt! Thank you for the meal. It was my first time at this restaurant, but I love Aoki's tonkatsu, so I will definitely visit another one of their stores again!

[Tabelog Selected Tonkatsu Top 100 Restaurant 2022] I visited a tonkatsu specialty restaurant located about an 8-minute walk from Asakusabashi Station and a 13-minute walk from Akihabara Station. I went from Akihabara Station, but it didn't feel that far. It is located on the 1st floor of an office building, and when you enter the store, there are counter seats lined up. There are also tables in the back, I think. The system is to purchase a meal ticket from a vending machine. I went for the affordable limited lunch on a weekday.
◆What I had:
Rosu Katsu Set Meal
- Rosu Katsu (Pork Cutlet)
- Shredded Cabbage
- Pickles
- Miso Soup
- Rice
The Rosu Katsu was huge~! But, umm~, the impression was so-so. Maybe it was just me. I thought maybe because it was cheap. However, there are also reviewers who highly praise it. It had thickness, but somehow, it felt like, well. Maybe I should have splurged and tried something more expensive. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived before 11:30 AM on a regular day and there were still plenty of seats available, so I was able to sit right away. The cheapest pork cutlet lunch set was ¥1200, and I'm not sure if it was made with Iwana pork, but it was sweet even in the fat, and it was so delicious that I have nothing else to say. There were three types of salt on the table, and I enjoyed trying each one with the cutlet, which was so delicious that it disappeared quickly. The cutlet, miso soup, and pickles were all delicious!! Next time, I want to try the cutlet curry. Thank you for the cheap and delicious cutlet meal~

Tonkatsu Aoki is located in Asakusabashi, and I recently had a wonderful culinary adventure there that lived up to my expectations. Upon entering, there were no available seats, so payment is required to receive a token to order your food. After a short wait, a dish with soup and rice was served. The taste was truly surprising, with a delicious fresh salad and tasty soup accompanying it. The combination of salt and chicken was also really good. The service was good and the food was served in a clean environment. I think it's a great place for those who want to enjoy great food in a quiet area.

This time, I visited a tonkatsu restaurant called "Aoki" located about a 10-minute walk from Akihabara Station. This restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 tonkatsu restaurants, and its main branch is in Kamata. It has several branches in the Kanto region.

I have a personal rule of not going out on days when people are off, but in July, I had to go out due to work. As a result, after finishing work at 14:00, I found myself looking for a place to eat in Akihabara on the weekend. I searched on Tabelog and found "Aoki" with available seats. I quickly ran to the restaurant as I hadn't had breakfast yet. However, I arrived at 14:40, and with the last order at 15:00, the restaurant was not very crowded. The staff welcomed me warmly. The tonkatsu took about 10 minutes to be ready, so I got my meal around 14:50. Even though I couldn't savor it slowly, the top loin cutlet had enough fat on it. The recommended Makk salt (Himalayan rock salt) paired well with the tonkatsu fat. I will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area. Thank you for the delicious tonkatsu.

Tonkatsu Ono has been visited in Kamata, Otemon, Ginza, and even Asakusabashi store, which is also selected as one of the "Tonkatsu Hyakumeiten 2022" by Tabelog. As someone with completionist tendencies, I had to visit this store to complete my list of top tonkatsu restaurants in Tokyo! I always prefer rosu (pork loin) over hire (pork fillet) no matter how old I get. I had the rosu katsu set meal, and it was delicious and juicy, living up to the high quality of Tonkatsu Ono. The system involves purchasing food tickets in advance. Money spent: 1,200 yen. Rating: 3 points. Would definitely visit again!

I had lunch here and they prepare the order right before serving, so the freshly fried pork cutlet was delicious with its thick meat. The cabbage was sweet and tasty, and I was happy that I could also get my vegetables intake.

I visited on a weekday around 11:15, located a bit away from Asakusabashi Station and Akihabara Station. The place was not too crowded, around 30% capacity. I have been to the Kamata branch before, but it was my first time for lunch here. I ordered the Pork Cutlet Set for 1200 yen. I remembered there were several types of rock salt here, and this time there were indeed three varieties. I was pleased to see that the pork cutlet was thick enough and finely sliced, making it easy to eat and enjoy the different flavors. If you have the chance, I recommend trying it out.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, with polite staff and a clean interior. I ordered the chicken breast and shoulder loin for 1,600 yen. I couldn't help but regret not choosing the recommended weekday special pork cutlet for 1,200 yen. The large pork cutlet at the counter next to me looked promising. However, what I ordered looked ordinary and didn't stand out. The shoulder loin was tough to chew due to its fatty texture, and the taste of the frying oil was too strong for my liking. I tried eating it with the recommended salt, but the strong smell of the Himalayan salt made me give up. I think it might have been delicious if I had followed the recommendation. It was a lunchtime filled with thoughts of what could have been.

I visited this restaurant on June 27, 2023. It is located on the first floor of an office building that takes about a 15-minute walk from Asakusabashi Station or Shin-Okachimachi Station. I arrived after 5:30 PM and there were three other customers already there. I purchased a ticket at the ticket machine inside the restaurant. I ordered the Upper Loin Cutlet Set for 1,500 yen. Before the meal, barley tea and a small dish of pickled daikon were served at the table. I believed that even with the Upper Loin cutlet, it should be delicious enough as Mr. Omo-san's special cutlet, so I ordered it. It was satisfying at Ippeko Ippe in Akihabara. In the kitchen, the staff was peeling daikon radish. I thought it was some kind of performance, but later realized it was for cutting the daikon in the miso soup. It was served in about 15 minutes. The tonkatsu was beautifully fried and looked clean and neat. There were three types of rock salt on the table, indicating that the restaurant recommends eating with salt. I mainly used the recommended Namak rock salt from the restaurant. The elegant saltiness of the salt brought out the deliciousness of the tonkatsu without the sharp saltiness of typical table salt. However, the tonkatsu sauce provided on the table was also delicious enough. Personally, I felt that maybe the sauce could be the most suitable for this tonkatsu. The rice was served in a bowl piled up high. If you have a small appetite, it might be a good idea to mention it at the beginning. The daikon in the miso soup was well-flavored and delicious.

Tonkatsu Aoki Asakusabashi branch, located at Asakusabashi Station. A renowned tonkatsu restaurant with its main branch in Kamata. It is listed as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog. They use Lin SPF pork, fry with pure lard, and coat with their original bread crumbs for their tonkatsu. The rice they serve is from Sado Island. This restaurant only has counter seats. We were able to be seated immediately as it was at night. While the cheapest menu is said to offer good value, this time I tried the most expensive option, the 3000 yen rib loin tonkatsu. I was nervous if I could finish the 300g portion. After a 15-minute wait, a huge tonkatsu arrived. It was so big that half of it was hidden when placed on a rice bowl. It was about 2cm thick. The inside had a perfect slight pink color from the cooking. When I took a bite with Himalayan rock salt, the crispy texture of the coating, the chewy yet tender meat, and the rich meat juice overflowing were delightful. The salt enhanced the meat's umami and sweetness. I also tried it with sauce, but I recommend enjoying it with Himalayan rock salt. There are other salts available, but the Himalayan salt complements the meat's flavor the best. The wasabi also doesn't overpower the meat's taste, so I liked that too. The rice had a slightly firm texture with a hint of sweetness, making it a great match with the tonkatsu. The volume and deliciousness of this rib loin tonkatsu exceed its 3000 yen price tag by far. It might be a challenge to finish the 300g portion, but let's eat with an empty stomach!

This is a restaurant review for one of the top 100 restaurants in 2022. It is a tonkatsu (deep-fried pork cutlet) restaurant where you purchase a meal ticket at the ticket machine inside. I ordered the 200g pork loin tonkatsu set meal for 1,500 yen. The restaurant offers three types of salt in addition to sauce: Himalayan white salt, Himalayan pink salt, and natural rock salt. They served cold tea and pickles first, with plenty of shredded cabbage. It also came with lemon slices and mustard. The meal includes miso soup and rice, with a generous serving of rice. The miso soup is tonjiru (miso soup with pork). The pork is fried to a rare level, making it juicy. There are various condiments to enjoy with the tonkatsu. I would like to try the katsu curry next time.

A tonkatsu restaurant located right in the middle of a triangle connecting Asakusabashi, Akihabara, and Shin-Okachimachi. The restaurant is situated on the first floor of a slightly open office building in a charming area with a traditional downtown feel. The open glass front of the restaurant leads to a spacious interior with a central counter seating area. The pork loin cutlet was really delicious. The overwhelming chewiness when you take a bite is irresistible. It has a fierce and robust texture, yet it is still tender and delicious. The unique flavor, with a hint of a wild scent, is truly amazing. The thin slices may seem delicate at first glance, but one bite is enough to understand why they are perfect. The Himalayan rock salt complemented the tonkatsu perfectly, which was a surprising and delightful combination. The miso soup, with its rich pork and vegetable flavors, was also incredibly tasty. Overall, this renowned restaurant impressed me with its high quality and consistent deliciousness.

I have only been to this restaurant once before, and I went this time because I had some errands nearby. I arrived after 11:30 and there was no line, so I was third in line and bought my meal ticket before sitting at the counter. I ordered the roast beef and a takeout lunch. The roast beef had a lot of fatty parts, which was disappointing. I understand that it's common for the fried food to be a bit undercooked, but this time it was even more undercooked than usual and had a lot of fat, which was also disappointing. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant before, so it was disappointing. I recommend sticking to the lunch set if you visit, as it may be more consistent. The difference in busyness and frying time could lead to a higher chance of getting a disappointing meal.

I used to frequent the main store in Kamata, but I haven't been there much lately. I was thinking I wanted to eat there again, and I found out they have expanded with many other branches. I was a bit worried about the quality since they have so many locations now, but it turned out to be unnecessary concern. The service is refined, and the food comes out efficiently one after another - rice, miso soup, and tonkatsu. I ordered the premium loin cutlet. It arrived after purchasing a meal ticket. It looked a bit overcooked at first, but it was incredibly tender! Just the taste I was looking for. Whether with sauce or with rock salt, it was delicious. This place is still the best in Tokyo. I hope they open a branch near my house soon! I definitely want to come back for lunch!
