This time, I visited a udon restaurant called "Oniyanma" located about a 1-minute walk from Naka-Meguro Station. "Oniyanma" first opened its Gotanda main store in 2010 and now has several branches in Tokyo. The type of udon served here is Sanuki udon. While the Gotanda main store is standing-only, this branch has seating available. When I visited around 6 pm on a weekday, there were 5 customers already inside. First, you purchase a meal ticket from the ticket machine outside (cash only). The menu includes 3 types of udon: hot kake udon (udon in basic broth), cold bukkake udon (udon with thicker dipping sauce), and grated soy sauce udon (udon with soy sauce instead of broth). You can also add toppings like chicken tempura, fish cake tempura, or meat, and choose regular or large portions of noodles. The menu is a bit confusing to navigate, but it helps the restaurant efficiently process orders. I ordered the cold chicken tempura bukkake udon in large size (¥570). After purchasing the meal ticket, I followed the instructions posted inside the restaurant. You place your ticket on a tray as you enter, and your udon is quickly served. There are 4 counter seats and 1 table with 8 seats in the back, but the space is quite small. The udon was served with 3 pieces of chicken tempura and green onions, and I added grated ginger before enjoying it. The noodles were freshly cooked, maintaining a perfect texture. The tempura was crispy and delicious. Overall, the experience was satisfying, and I recommend visiting this cozy udon spot near Naka-Meguro Station.

Today's dinner was here. I always love how the dashi is piping hot. Some people had their tempura served separately, I didn't know that was an option. I enjoy when the tempura soaks in the dashi, but next time I'll ask for it on a separate plate. I had the hot tempura udon with extra green onions.

Visit on 9/16/2023 (Sat) at 4:53 pm. The restaurant was about 20% full, so I was able to get in right away. The service was quick compared to other locations I've been to. I ordered the Tori-Ten Bukkake (520 yen) on this day. Unlike the recommended Tori-Ten Chikuwa-Ten Bukkake which has 2 pieces of chicken and 1 piece of chikuwa, the Tori-Ten Bukkake had 3 pieces of chicken. The Tori-Ten at Oniyanma is tender with a good amount of pepper, which I really enjoy, so the Tori-Ten Bukkake was a great choice. The taste was consistent with other Oniyanma locations, and I enjoyed my meal that day as well. The Naka-Meguro location is not strictly standing-only, as they have chairs that match their high tables, which was a nice touch.

The restaurant is not as crowded as the Gotanda main branch, but on Saturday morning after 9 o'clock, there was a constant flow of people coming in. It's a place where you can eat quickly and leave, so you can eat right away without waiting. The tempura is crispy, big, and very delicious.

I chose cold udon with tempura chicken and tempura fish cake on top. After buying a meal ticket at the ticket machine outside the store, enter and place the ticket on the tray to wait. Don't forget to get water. The pick-up counter is quite narrow, so make sure to place your backpack forward to avoid inconveniencing others. The udon was served quickly. I ordered additional myoga tempura and paid in cash. The kelp broth was gentle and light. The udon wasn't as chewy as I expected, but it was easy to eat and delicious. The myoga tempura had a crunchy texture to the batter. Have you ever seen such a strong tempura? Haha. I enjoyed it while soaking it in the dipping sauce. There are also fried egg and shichimi pepper on the table. I don't usually go to udon shops, so I can't provide a comparative evaluation, but this is how I felt. Thank you for the meal!

I have been to the Gotanda location of Oniyanma and also tried the one here at Hyakumeiten. I decided to try the Warm [Regular Portion] Meat for 690 yen. I found the plain udon I had at the Gotanda location to be more delicious. This time, the meat was just okay, and I was a little bothered by the smell. Maybe I felt the true deliciousness of the broth when I ate the plain udon. The restaurant is located right near the nearest station. There is a standing eating space and tables in the back, I believe. The ticket purchasing process was the same using the ticket machine. The staff seemed a bit indifferent. The restaurant is completely non-smoking.

I went back to this place after hearing good reviews, even though I had eaten at 8 different places in Takamatsu last week and still wanted more. I had tried the udon here twice before and found the noodles to be flat and the broth lacking in aroma and flavor. However, this time I decided to try the cold noodles and asked for them to be changed to cold broth. The staff worked efficiently and my order came out quickly. The udon noodles were different this time - they were square in shape with a firm texture and a good chewiness. The broth had a strong umami flavor with a hint of dried fish aroma. The improvement was noticeable and the udon was delicious. I learned that the owners, who are from Kagawa, use wheat from a local supplier and blend several types of dried fish for the broth. If the cold noodles were this good, I am looking forward to trying the hot noodles next time. This place has definitely stepped up their game. I had a different impression when I tried their udon in Gotanda, where the broth was thin and the noodles were soft, or in Nakameguro, where the noodles were flat and lacked flavor. But now, all those doubts have been dispelled. I will definitely be coming back for this udon. Thank you for the meal!

I was amazed to find a place like this where you can eat such delicious, cheap, and quick meals. It's important for me that it's udon because ramen can sometimes be heavy. The tenkasu was all-you-can-eat.

Visited at 8:21 am. Entered smoothly. Ordered the "oomori" toriten & chikuwa tempura udon (710 yen). Prompt service. The udon had a nice texture, the juicy toriten and large chikuwa tempura paired well with it. Delicious. Mixed the ginger and tempura flakes on the table while eating it all in one go. I visited this restaurant in Naka-Meguro for work, which is located near the station and has around 100 seats. Despite being a very popular and famous spot, it was not crowded when I arrived after 11 am. I ordered the cold udon deluxe set for 1,000 yen, which came with meat, fried tofu, and tempura (shrimp, sweet potato, and chicken). The cost performance was excellent. The udon had a unique texture - soft yet chewy. The broth was a light color, with a perfect balance of soy sauce and dashi, reminiscent of Kansai-style udon. The tempura was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked to bring out the flavors of the ingredients. I added some tempura flakes and ginger from the table, making it a luxurious and delicious lunch experience.

On a weekend afternoon, feeling a bit peckish but not too hungry, I headed to Oniyanma near Naka-Meguro station. Even though just a simple bowl of noodles would have been enough, I couldn't resist the temptation of the Cold Tendon & Chikuwa Tendon set which came with two generous portions of chikuwa and chicken tempura for only 590 yen. When I bit into the juicy chicken tempura, I could taste the hint of ginger, which I really enjoy. I also like the flavor of the bonito broth. The udon noodles had a satisfying texture. Another thing that made my visit enjoyable was seeing a young customer looking nervous but then smiling brightly when their order was confirmed. It was a warm and welcoming atmosphere, not overly formal, but just right for a neighborhood eatery. I really liked it. The meal was delicious. Thank you for the treat.

I entered the restaurant thinking it had a witty standing style. I ordered the cold special top-grade tempura. It was quite satisfying, but the tempura was a cut above the rest. While not exactly surpassing other standing tempura places, it was remarkably refined. It made me wonder if this is why women often enjoy eating here.

Udon East's top 100 udon shop, Oniyanma, is a popular spot for Sanuki udon. Located in front of Naka-Meguro Station, there is no line or wait to enter. I had the cold bukkake udon with half-cooked egg tempura and grated yam for 550 yen. Oniyanma has several shops around the Yamanote Line, and although my go-to is Nippori Station, the taste is consistent with the basic, chewy noodles and clear, flavorful broth that is really delicious. The Naka-Meguro shop is small but has a nice seating area. I parked at a coin parking lot nearby and was able to enjoy a quick meal in under 10 minutes. Thank you for the meal.

After drinking and bar hopping, the perfect way to end the night is with Chikuwa Tempura Udon at Oniyanma in Naka-Meguro. Priced at 490 yen, the Chikuwa Tempura is well-prepared and the udon noodles and broth are outstanding. The Naka-Meguro branch is just as good as the Shinbashi one. It's not like enjoying delicious sake, but it really hits the spot after a night of drinking. It's unfair that you can't find such delicious Chikuwa Tempura at a tempura specialty shop. The same goes for Shungiku Tempura and Beni Shoga Tempura. Tempura should be available at tempura specialty shops just like at standing soba and udon shops.

Nakameguro has a somewhat upscale and trendy image, but this restaurant is more for the everyday person. However, the prices are a bit higher, probably due to the area. I had udon with shishito tempura for around 900 yen. The taste was actually delicious and refreshing. The pork udon had a nice combination of flavors. I saw the kitchen briefly and it looked like they make their own noodles. The downside was that the busy staff weren't very friendly and the restaurant is very small and easy to bump into things.

Today, I visited Oniyanma in front of Naka-Meguro Station. Unlike yesterday, I ordered it with Oroshi. When you order Oroshi, the tempura comes on a separate plate, which I prefer! On top of the udon are Oroshi and sudachi. I enjoyed eating the refreshing udon by gradually adding soy sauce from the table. Even on a hot day, this light and refreshing udon goes down smoothly. The Toriten was still incredibly delicious. I am completely satisfied with the taste, speed, and price! It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

After eating a hamburger, I visited a famous udon restaurant. I had cold udon with tempura bamboo shoots and chicken tempura on top. The restaurant was very small, and if I had a backpack on, I couldn't pass through. I ordered cold udon, but I wish it was a bit colder... I think it was because it was crowded! The space is very narrow and always crowded. It's great that you can have unlimited tempura flakes. On this day, I indulged in a lot of tempura flakes, even though I'm heading towards lifestyle diseases. The chicken tempura is twice as tender and juicy as you would expect. The fishcake is also delicious. In fact, the fishcake is sweet, with a hint of sweetness that I highly recommend.

I was feeling a bit hungry and looking for somewhere to eat when I stumbled upon the reliably delicious Oniyanma. I bought a ticket from the food ticket machine outside and went inside. The Gotanda branch is very popular and there is usually a line, but I was lucky to get in smoothly this time. The food was delicious! As expected, the udon was amazing.

[2022 Top 100 Stores] I usually just pass by, thinking it's crowded again today. Today, I decided to stop by for a light lunch course. "Oniyanma Nakameguro Store" has a ticket machine at the entrance, so when you buy something there, your order goes straight to the kitchen. As I was getting water inside, my cold Bukkake Udon was already served. Cold Bukkake Udon: 350 yen Udon topped with green onions, with cold soup poured over it. The udon doesn't have a strong texture or particularly tasty soup, but when you add tempura flakes, grated ginger, and shichimi spice, it becomes quite delicious. This was my first time entering the store, and it was as cramped as it looked. However, there are table seats (standing) at the back where about 6 people can stand and eat.

I felt like eating udon, so I visited the Naka-Meguro branch following the Gotanda main store. Unlike the main store, you can sit down and eat here. This time, I ordered the cold chicken tempura udon for 520 yen. Udon really needs to have a good texture! The udon here has a great texture and is really delicious. And the cost performance is the best in the Kanto region! When you want to eat udon, go to Oniyanma!
