Located about a 5-minute drive from Nishi-Ogikubo Station on the Chuo Line, facing Ome Kaido. I heard that it is a very popular eel restaurant, so I decided to visit. The reservation process was very polite and friendly. Upon arrival, the proprietress was indeed very pleasant, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant has been in business for 32 years, and I learned that the son of the owner is also working there as the second generation. I visited during lunchtime. There are sunken kotatsu seats and counter seats, as well as table seats in the back. I chose the special eel set for 5529 yen (tax included). The eel was cooked with a very refined sauce and was delicious. The fluffy grilled eel, soaked in sauce, goes down smoothly with the rice. It came with liver and pickles. It was a great restaurant, and I would like to visit again.

Visited for lunch on a Sunday. I love eel so whenever I have the chance, I actively go to restaurants listed in the top 100 eel restaurants. However, this place was listed in 2018/2019 so it's a hidden gem in my opinion. ...That being said, it is a well-loved local restaurant so reservations are a must!! When making a reservation by phone, if you order in advance, the food will be served with minimal waiting time once you arrive at the restaurant. The special deluxe grilled eel and the special deluxe white-grilled eel were so tender that they could be easily broken apart with chopsticks. The eel bowl, of course, was prepared in both Kanto-style and steamed charcoal-grilled. The sauce was not too sweet and the balance with the amount of white rice was very good, making it delicious until the end. The restaurant seemed to have been renovated not too long ago, and the sophisticated atmosphere made it very comfortable. By the way, there is a parking lot just a minute's walk from the restaurant, so I think it's very convenient!! (Probably quite a distance from the station...)

Unaju Tokujyo is an eel restaurant located away from Nishi-Ogikubo Station, along Zenpukuji-dori in Zenpukuji. The restaurant exudes a clean and sophisticated atmosphere, with a traditional yet refined charm. The quality of their eel dishes is truly exceptional, showcasing a perfect balance of steamed eel and sauce. The meticulous preparation and delicious flavors make it stand out among other unagi restaurants. The liver dish was also incredibly flavorful and rich, complementing the eel perfectly. The hospitality of the staff adds to the overall high-quality dining experience, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. This restaurant is truly a gem that exceeds expectations and deserves its reputation as a top-notch establishment.

On a regular evening, I made a reservation by phone and visited at 7:30 pm to avoid crowds. Luckily, there were no parking spaces available despite the restaurant being full. I ordered the special eel rice bowl, 4 types of skewers, and grilled liver. The skewers were all delicious, especially the fillet and collar. I forgot to take a photo of the grilled liver and liver. I wanted to have a real beer instead of non-alcoholic beer with my meal. The eel rice bowl came with liver and pickles, and the eel was tender and tasty. I will definitely go back again.

I think you need a reservation to get in, but they ask for your order when you make a reservation, so it's best to decide what to order beforehand. The skewered fillet and liver are good snacks, juicy and with a refined sauce. The eel is more steamed than grilled, with a soft texture that melts in your mouth. The rice is not just topped with sauce, but mixed with it and packed in a bento box, so the sauce is evenly soaked. I really liked this type of eel.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. It was my fourth or fifth visit, and for the first time, I ordered the specialty eel roll, which requires a reservation. Normally, I only reserve a table and order the eel after I arrive. I enjoy savoring the eel while leisurely sipping on sake. In addition to the eel roll, I also ordered the half-size special salad for the first time. I also had items like ankimo with ponzu sauce and edamame. The eel roll impressed me with its beautiful appearance and the smooth texture of the egg. The special salad was not only leafy greens but also included mushrooms, broccoli, and raw pumpkin, making it very filling. I switched from beer to sake and enjoyed delicious appetizers while waiting for the eel rice bowl. After about 50 minutes, the eel rice bowl (deluxe) arrived, and it was consistently delicious with its fluffy texture. The service from the proprietress was also warm and welcoming, making it a truly happy lunch experience!

I made a reservation in advance after being told that it would take 50 minutes until the eel was ready when I contacted them in the morning of the same day. The half portion of grilled eel was priced at 2,980 yen (tax included). The eel was surprisingly fluffy and delicious, exceeding my expectations. It was so good that I wished I had ordered the higher grade. If I have the chance to eat it again, I would like to try a whole eel. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to go to a delicious eel restaurant in the neighborhood, so I made a reservation in advance and went there. They have a parking lot that can accommodate a few cars, but it was already full when I arrived, so I parked at another nearby parking lot. As soon as I arrived, the eel bowl that I had reserved came out without any delay. I had been told over the phone that if I didn't make a reservation, I would have to wait for over 40 minutes, so I also pre-ordered my meal. The sauce was refreshing and had a good aftertaste, and the eel was cooked to perfection with a fluffy texture, showcasing the skills of the chef. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Visited the restaurant on a national holiday night at 6:30 pm. It was fully booked. I had made a reservation about 10 days ago. I ordered the pine course with seasonal fried dish and eel roll. There was a menu but no specific explanation was given, and the dishes were served without much detail. Even the sauce for the eel roll was not explained. I thought it was for the next sashimi dish and ended up not using it. The appetizer was average. The eel roll was delicious. The sashimi was average. The fried dish was delicious. The eel bowl was average. The dessert was average. Overall, there was no dish that left a lasting impression.

Today, I was able to make a last-minute reservation and visited the restaurant. I had to wait 50 minutes after ordering, so I decided on my menu when making the reservation. The restaurant was quite crowded due to lunchtime (almost full), and it took about 20 minutes for the eel bowl to finally arrive. The appearance of the eel bowl seemed a bit lacking in shine, and the sauce was just soy sauce... From here on, it's my personal opinion, but the eel itself seemed a bit too light and didn't seem to go well with the sauce.

The fluffy and plump eel is not too greasy. The outside is lightly crispy. I prefer it to be grilled a bit more, but the Kanto style is also delicious. The sauce is light and the amount is small, so you can enjoy it in a refreshing and simple way.

Ufujii, a famous eel restaurant in Kami-Igusa, is known for serving delicious eel dishes. I ordered the special eel bowl priced at 4800 yen, which was served promptly. I plan to reserve a course meal next time. The restaurant details are as follows:

I ordered eel with pine from this restaurant. It also came with pickles and a towel as a New Year's gift. I had been curious about this eel restaurant for a while, so I was looking forward to it. As for the taste, the sauce was light, but the eel itself was flavorful. The meat was soft and delicious. I think the quality is quite high, not just relying on the sauce. The pickles were also delicious. The price is high, so I can't eat here often, but I want to come at least once a year. I would recommend this eel restaurant to others.

I made a reservation on a weekday and picked up my takeout around 6 pm. The restaurant was empty, but the staff seemed busy preparing takeout orders. I ordered the special eel and chicken bento box for 5500 yen, which was a reasonable price. The bento box included eel, grilled chicken, and vegetables, all cooked over charcoal. The eel was delicious, but the grilled chicken was also fresh and flavorful. The vegetables were of high quality and added a nice contrast to the meat. Although the eel was a bit mushy from being steamed, it still had a delicate texture and a gentle flavor. Overall, I was very satisfied with the meal and I can only imagine how much better it would taste when freshly prepared.

"Unafuji" is a popular eel specialty restaurant that offers delivery services and is located in front of Igusa Hachimangu Shrine. They use eels from Kyushu, grill them over charcoal after receiving orders, and serve delicious "Unaju" dishes. I enjoyed every bite of the fluffy and delicious eel dish. Located at 4-8-7 Imakawa, Suginami-ku, Tokyo.

I visited this restaurant for the first time recently, as it was under renovation during my previous visit. I had the special eel and grilled liver, which were delicious with the light sauce that complemented the eel's flavor perfectly. The steamed eel was soft and paired well with the firm rice. It may not be listed as a top restaurant, but its quality remains excellent.

In July, I visited Unafuji along the Ome Kaido road for some delicious eel. Eel has become less common due to decreasing resources, so it was a special treat to enjoy it. Despite being located in a busy area along the Ome Kaido road, the restaurant had a charming atmosphere. They offered both tatami and table seating options. I ordered the premium eel. It had a nice plumpness, light oiliness, gentle seasoning, and a satisfying eel flavor. It had been a while since I had a traditional eel dish, so I didn't have a clear comparison, but I definitely enjoyed the eel dish here. The nutritious meal helped me power through the hot summer, and I left feeling very satisfied. Thank you.

I made a reservation for 7:00 and arrived at the restaurant. If you come by car, it may be a bit difficult to find parking, so it's good to arrive with some extra time. I ordered the pine mushroom that I had reserved. I heard that it takes 50 minutes if you don't have a reservation. The texture of the mushroom was fluffy and tender, typical of the Kanto region. The sauce was sweet and blended well with the rice. It was delicious. The time from ordering to serving was a bit long, and the fluffy texture of the mushroom may be due to a long steaming time. Thank you for the meal.

Located between Kamiigusa and Nishi-Ogikubo, this eel restaurant is quite far from either station. However, it is worth a visit as it has been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog in the past. The eel from Kyushu is characterized by its moist and juicy texture rather than a crispy grilled flavor. There were a few small bones, but it's rare to find Kanto-style eel this delicious. The depiction of Mount Fuji on the lacquered box was also beautiful, perhaps a play on the restaurant's name. [Menu] ◼︎ Ichinokura - Unsweetened brewing, super dry - Refreshing to drink. ◼︎ Appetizer - Firefly squid and bamboo shoot with vinegared miso - A refreshing and tasty dish with a sour taste. ◼︎ Bamboo shoot tempura - ⭐︎ Crispy and delicious with a nice texture. ◼︎ Assorted grilled eel skewers - ⭐︎ - Kabuto (head) - Soft and rich in fatty sweetness. - Liver - Is this really eel? It has a texture similar to chicken heart and is delicious. - Fin - Melts in your mouth, packed with eel flavor. Juicy. ◼︎ Eel roll - ⭐︎ A fluffy egg with a flavorful eel taste, incredibly delicious. Despite being quite ordinary in some aspects, this place is amazing! The combination of eel sauce is fantastic. ◼︎ Grilled eel - ⭐︎ Simply delicious, highlighting the tenderness and juiciness of the eel. ◼︎ Eel rice bowl - ⭐︎ Fluffy and not fishy eel. Juicy and irresistible. The sweet and savory sauce is particularly delightful.

The one-dish meals are of high quality here. After enjoying some Japanese sake and one-dish meals, the eel rice bowl that was reserved in advance appeared. The spicy sauce goes well with it after drinking, and the rice texture is just right. I finished it all in one go, it was delicious!

This is a shop located quite far from the station, near the Inokashira Hachimangu Shrine. It's not necessary to make a reservation because there is always a long line, but it seems that it takes quite some time to grill the eel. It's recommended to make a reservation the day before and place your order at that time! When I went there on the day, it was just before noon and I was the only customer. It seemed like other seats had reservations too. The shop is not very big inside.
Order:
- Two meals of eel and chicken skewer bowl: 3,000 yen
- Bottle of beer (appetizer)
The eel was plump, tender, and delicious! Personally, I prefer a slightly sweeter sauce. It was a high-quality eel restaurant! Thank you for the meal!
