I ordered my usual tsukemen in large size. The soup was slightly light in flavor. The chashu was tender and delicious as always. The seasoned green onions had just the right amount of flavor without being too spicy. The flavored egg was cooked perfectly with a runny yolk. The noodles were easy to eat as they didn't clump together. Thank you for the meal.

I was welcomed by the always energetic staff and tried tsukemen for the first time. The soup with yam in it was delicious, perfect for a hot summer lunch, and there was plenty of char siu! It was surprising how many toppings there were. I also easily finished the large portion of noodles.

Soy sauce tonkotsu ramen with a family-like feel. I'm not a fan of seaweed being in it. It's a popular place, so I think it must be delicious, but it's just not to my liking. The staff's energy is high for creating a good atmosphere, but I couldn't quite match their enthusiasm, so I felt a bit sorry. Also, the counter at the busy restaurant is too narrow for someone on the heavier side like me. I usually avoid family-style ramen, but sometimes I give in to the temptation. Although I occasionally find a good one, it's hit or miss. I'm sorry for the repeated apologies. This place reminded me once again that I've never been a fan of ramen since I was a child.

Meat and egg char siu ramen. 1000 yen. The char siu here is surprisingly melt-in-your-mouth tender, holding its shape in the soup until you pick it up, at which point it effortlessly falls apart. With seaweed and grated yam, it's a unique combination that might just become addictive. Ignoring the staff's standard phrases (sorry, staff members!), I focused intently on the ramen. The distinct cut of the char siu was unexpectedly satisfying! Thank you for the meal.

I visited the "Ippatsu Ramen Fussa" store, which is a 13-minute walk from Fussa Station. There is a large parking lot behind the store, which is convenient. When I visited around 12:00 on a weekday, the store was almost full. Although there was no line outside, it seems to be a popular place as always. This time, I ordered the usual "Negi Toro Chashu Ramen Shoyu" for 1100 yen. At the timing of handing over the food ticket, I also requested a seasoned egg with a coupon. After a 12-minute wait, the ramen was served. At the same time, they called out, "A flower bloomed in the bowl!" as usual. For those who added the seasoned egg, they asked us to raise both hands and shout, "Genki-dama!!!" With three staff members and myself, we shouted, "Genki-dama!!!" It would have been fun if I were with friends, but it was quite embarrassing to do it alone... I suppressed my embarrassment and enjoyed the ramen. The visual presentation was still fantastic, with chashu flowers around the bowl, along with leeks and yam. The brown soup is a soy sauce-flavored animal-based broth, slightly thick and delicious. The noodles were thin and straight, cooked just right with a nice flavor. The chashu consisted of 8 large slices of pork shoulder, thinly sliced but satisfying in quantity. The tender chashu was delicious. The seasoned egg (genki-dama) was 90% firm with a rich flavor, also delicious. As always, I was full and satisfied, but from now on, I'll refrain from ordering the seasoned egg. Thank you for the meal.

One Shot @ Fussa revisited. As someone from Hachioji, I am familiar with the main store in Hachioji, even though it used to be located next to Fuji Mori Grand in the past, not within walking distance from Hachioji Station where it is now. However, recently I have been visiting the Fussa store more often. This time, I visited with two other people. I was undecided on what to order, but I decided to go with my favorite chashu and also add my other favorite, tororo. - Chaa-toro Shoyu Ramen ¥1000 Firm noodles, strong flavor. My companions ordered: - Miso Negi Chashu - Shoyu Ramen with seasoned egg While waiting, I checked out various things. The staff here have an interesting way of calling out. When someone adds a seasoned egg, the staff loudly shouts "Seasoned Egg!!!" Honestly, the calling out is annoying, but it seemed to be a hit with the families and kids around. Also, for those who add chashu, they shout something like "A single flower!!!" Please stop. And here it is!!! My chashu and tororo. The visual impact is outstanding!!! Let's start with the soup. A light pork bone and soy sauce base. It's like a mix of tonkotsu and shoyu ramen. The slightly salty taste this time was a bit too much. I felt like eating rice. I resisted, though. The noodles must be firm, it's a must. Delicious. The tororo is seriously delicious. Grated tororo is the best!!! Are there any other ramen shops besides Isshiki that offer tororo? I'd love to know if you do. The chashu is also seriously delicious. I wanted to make my own chashu bowl with rice. I wanted to eat the tororo that sank to the bottom... Continuing to eat forces you to drink the soup... I definitely overdid it with the strong flavor. Overall, I highly recommend Isshiki's chashu and tororo. But I definitely overdid it with the strong flavor. ★3.5 Next time, I'll skip the strong flavor. After eating, my tongue felt tingly. Let's go easy on the seasoning next time. Thank you for the meal.

Hello everyone. On this day, I went on a business trip to "Iruma no Yu" in Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture. In these times, the bathing fee is only 480 yen! It's so cheap. Although it was far, the place is more like a super public bath rather than a hot spring, but it was clean inside with a hot sauna, and there was nothing to complain about. It's dangerous because it's so cheap. After traveling all the way there, I decided to visit a ramen shop that I used to frequent in the past. I have been going to the main store near Fujimori Park for over 30 years, and I have been visiting this Fukusei store on my way to work since it opened. I haven't been there much in recent years, so I was looking forward to seeing the kitchen staff, but... time flies, doesn't it? No one recognized me. But since I came all this way, let's enjoy a delicious bowl. Today's order: - Mekatoro Tsukemen (dipping noodles) ¥850 - Extra Spicy Takana (pickled mustard greens) ¥100 Tsukemen allows you to add more noodles for free, which is great! They stick to the old-fashioned tangy dipping sauce and thin, firm noodles rinsed with water, sticking to the Showa style. It had been a while since I had tsukemen, but was it just me? The dipping sauce seemed to have more spice added, and I love it. I love this feeling. I slurp up the mix of mekabu (seaweed) and grated yam with the noodles. I can't forget this taste, no matter what others say. And my body craves it uncontrollably. Despite trying hard not to raise prices significantly in these times, it's a bit disappointing that the chashu has gotten smaller and the high-quality pickled mustard greens are now charged for. When ordering the pickled mustard greens, they now ask for the signature call-and-response stretch from Ippatsu Ramen... I don't mind, but my wife really dislikes it. I want to eat the pickled mustard greens, but now there's a "Fire!" call... Ippatsu Ramen didn't end with the "Spirit Bomb" call. I'm excited to see what the next call-and-response will be (laughs).

Visited on a weekday night at 7 o'clock and 2/3 of the seats were already taken. Customers kept coming in one after another. I ordered the Negi and Toro soy sauce ramen in a large portion. Many others ordered the Chashu ramen. I got a free egg using a coupon from Tabelog. The Chashu and egg were delicious and exactly to my liking. The Negi and Toro matched well with the soup. The soup was a bit salty, but adding a little garlic dramatically changed the flavor. Definitely worth a try.

Arrived around 13:15 on a regular day with no line. Ordered the dipping noodles with thick and creamy sauce at the ticket machine for 850 yen. The "plump and bouncy" rice bowl mentioned on the official website was not available. I chose the large size with a stronger flavor for the dipping noodles. With a coupon, I could choose an additional seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, or corn. I chose extra bamboo shoots. When asked if I had a printed coupon, I apologized for only having it on my phone, and the staff kindly offered it as a service. The noodles arrived in about 6-7 minutes, likely around 400g of thin noodles before boiling (estimated). This was my first visit to the Fussa branch, but I have been to the Hachioji branch since my student days and visited the Sagamihara branch a few times. With the extra bamboo shoots, there was a generous amount, along with seaweed and grated yam, a little green onion, and two tender slices of pork shoulder chashu, making it a very filling meal. It had been a while since I had "Ichigatsu Ramen," so I was very excited! As expected, the soup was a bit lukewarm due to the thick and creamy sauce. The slippery texture of the sauce, the satisfying crunch of the bamboo shoots, the tender pork shoulder chashu, and the soy sauce-based soup of Ichigatsu Ramen - everything was "THE Ichigatsu!" I added grated garlic to the table halfway through for a change of flavor. At the next table, someone ordered Chatoro Ramen with a seasoned egg, and the staff called out, "A flower blooming in a bowl" and "Let's be energetic together!" It was great to see that the same old Ichigatsu Ramen charm was still alive. With the large serving, both my mood and my stomach were completely satisfied! I really enjoyed it!

The other day, I was taken to Ippatsu Ramen by GT-san. There was a bit of a line due to lunchtime. Finally, we entered the restaurant. I wanted to hear the famous chant, so I ordered the Negi Toro Chashu Ramen Shoyu. I dug in. First, the soup. But before that, a visually striking presentation appeared, accompanied by a chant of "A flower blooming in a bowl! Chashu in full bloom!" Oh, this is the one I heard about!! It really gets you excited. The soup wasn't too greasy, and it tasted pretty good. With grated yam in it, the soup was just the right temperature for someone like me with a sensitive tongue. Next, the noodles. Thin and smooth, they went down easily. Thanks to the grated yam, the noodles slid down smoothly. And I kept on eating. The cute heart design was nice, but I quickly took a bite. The chashu wasn't too fatty, so I could easily finish it. The crispy green onions tossed in sesame oil did a great job. The overall gentle flavor, amidst the striking appearance, gave a sense of a lovely flower blooming. No wonder there was a line forming, it's really popular. I added some doubanjiang and vinegar for a flavor change. It really felt like I was getting a nutrition boost. It was like a supplement ramen! In short, Suppler! (laughs) So, without feeling tired, I finished the soup. "Thank you for the meal," I said as I placed the empty bowl down, and the staff, upon seeing it, exclaimed, "Great eating!" with the famous chant! I'd like to try the miso flavor next time. I'll definitely be back!

I arrived at my usual ramen shop an hour before opening and decided to search on Tabelog for another place that caught my interest. I ended up driving to a popular ramen shop where there was already a line of customers even though it was only 10:10 am. The energetic elderly lady in her 70s and the guy making noodles were both impressive to watch. I ordered soy sauce ramen with free extra toppings and it was delicious. The soup was tasty, the two slices of chashu were satisfying, and the overall balance was just right. I finished it all in one go and the lady commented, "You eat fast!" as I left feeling content. I will definitely visit again if I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal.

I visited before 4:00 PM today and ordered ramen and rice. It was my first time seeing the staff in a while, but they remembered my preferences. The soup today was piping hot and delicious, with plenty of back fat just the way I like it. The service chashu was also generous. Thank you for the meal!

I visited before 4:00 PM and had my usual extra-large tsukemen. The staff member who knows my preferences well was busy with another task, so a different staff member prepared my order. Today's soup was lukewarm, unlike the usual piping hot soup. The seasoned egg was overcooked, with the yolk not runny. The seasoned green onions were lightly seasoned, leaving a spicy aftertaste. It was disappointing today. Thank you for the meal.

Around 10:15 am on Saturday, I entered the restaurant with about 6 customers already there. I couldn't find the miso chashu on the ticket machine, so I ended up buying a miso ramen for 700 yen and a medium portion for an extra 100 yen. I ordered my ramen by saying a sort of incantation, "Koikata kotteri" (meaning rich, firm, and fatty). After waiting for about 5 minutes, my bowl of ramen arrived. It had small chashu slices, 2 sheets of seaweed, menma, and wakame. The soup had a rich flavor, perfect for warming up my cold body. The noodles were firm and delicious. I added some minced garlic and chili bean paste halfway through eating the noodles and finished my meal. By the time I left, the restaurant was almost full, showing that it was indeed a typical busy Saturday.

I arrived at the restaurant at 10:30 and there were already 5 customers inside. I purchased a miso ramen for 700 yen and a plump and juicy bowl for 500 yen from the ticket machine. After sitting down, my ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. This time, I ordered the regular size miso ramen, opting out of the large size I had last time. It turned out that the regular size was the right choice. The ramen was delicious, especially with the firm texture and rich flavor I requested. I added a bit of chili bean paste and garlic halfway through eating. When I was about halfway through my ramen, the plump and juicy bowl arrived. The soft and flavorful cartilage was amazing, with four pieces that were satisfying on their own. I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied once again. Thank you for the meal.

The nearest station is Fussa Station on the JR Ome Line, but the restaurant is located a bit far from the station. However, the brightly lit sign is quite visible even at night. There is a parking lot at the back, making it convenient for those coming by car. I visited on a weekday before 6 pm. There were a few customers inside, and I was greeted with cheerful voices. First, you need to buy a meal ticket. There are many types of ramen available, but since it was my first visit and I was unsure, I chose the Negi Toro Chashu Ramen in the top left corner. I also added a seasoned egg called "genki-dama." When the dish was served, I was surprised. The Chashu was arranged like a big flower, as explained by the staff. I was a bit worried when I saw the Toro in the Negi Toro, thinking it was back fat, but it turned out to be grated yam, which relieved me. When you order the genki-dama, you have to do stretching exercises with the staff with a loud shout. It's quite embarrassing. Now, trying the ramen, the pure white soup was not as thick as I expected. The grated yam added a nice touch. However, the quantity of Chashu and menma was a bit heavy for me. Adding garlic from the table and such may appeal to some people. I used to eat this kind of ramen a lot in the past, but lately, I have been favoring lighter broths, so maybe it's a sign of aging.

It's been about 6 or 7 years since my last visit. I entered the restaurant on a weekday at 10:45 AM and was greeted with a cheerful "Welcome!" just like before. It felt nostalgic. There was one other customer already inside. I already knew what I wanted to eat, but the menu was extensive and I was looking for it when I heard a voice saying, "I recommend number ○○." I decided to order the Negi Chashu Tsukemen Miso for 1050 yen. I also added the Plump Plump Donburi for 500 yen, which I had seen on Twitter. For the tsukemen, you can choose from regular, medium, or large size. I opted for the large size. After a few minutes of waiting, the dipping sauce and noodles were served. I didn't hear the phrase "a flower blooming in a bowl." The toppings included chashu, green onions, menma, and seaweed, with two sheets of nori on top of the noodles. I asked for extra back fat oil, and the thick and rich broth was delicious. The noodles were firm and tasty. I added a little grated garlic from the table and finished it all in one go. As for the Plump Plump Donburi, I was initially skeptical about the 500 yen price, but it turned out to be a great value. The extremely tender simmered pork cartilage and the rich seasoning were amazing. It was even more tender and delicious than I had imagined. I am completely full now. I used to eat three servings of tsukemen and rice in the past, so I thought I could handle it, but my memories from 20 years ago were not reliable. I am not sure when their business hours start, but it was from 10 AM when I visited.

I've been wanting to come here since it was featured on TV. I tried to come before but they were closed for the New Year holidays, so today I'm making a comeback. The parking lot is located behind the restaurant and it looks like it can accommodate 13 cars. Later, I saw a parking guide at the store, and it seems that there are additional parking spaces available, totaling 17 cars. After parking, I head to the restaurant. As expected of a popular spot, even though I visited on a Sunday at 1:30 pm, the place was quite crowded. I managed to find a seat for two with my companion. The seating is only at the counter, with about 20 seats in total. As soon as I entered, I saw the ticket machine and made my purchase. Today, I ordered the Negi Toro Chashu Ramen Shoyu (tax included 1100 yen). My companion, who doesn't eat much, opted for the Negi Toro Ramen Shoyu (tax included 900 yen). I handed over the tickets and in a few minutes, our bowls arrived. In the case of Chashu Ramen, they shout "A flower blooming in the bowl! Chashu in full bloom!" when serving the dish. It made me feel both happy and embarrassed. Many people who like this dish ordered it, and I heard this shout several times during my meal. I didn't have the opportunity to hear the shout for the "Genki Tamago" when ordering the flavored egg, which was a bit disappointing. Moving on, I took a sip of the soup. It's tonkotsu-based but not too strong in pork bone flavor, yet maintaining a deep richness... with plenty of rich oil. This soup exceeded my expectations in terms of umami. The noodles were slightly wavy straight medium-thin noodles with a good chewiness that mixed well with the soup. The toppings included a flower of Chashu circling the bowl (8 slices), green onions and bean sprouts seasoned with sesame oil, seaweed, bamboo shoots, and heart-shaped kelp. The large Chashu slices were incredibly tender and nicely sweet. The green onions and bean sprouts seasoned with sesame oil were superb! They tasted even better when eaten with the noodles, and I kept eating them that way. The kelp was best enjoyed when sipped along with the soup. It enhanced the richness and sweetness of the pork bone soup while making the texture smoother. Overall, I was very satisfied with this bowl. In particular, I think I absolutely cannot miss the Negi Toro next time. Thank you for the meal.

Ippatsu Ramen @ Fussa, revisited. I am from Hachioji, so I am familiar with Ippatsu, which has its main store in Hachioji. This is my second visit to the Fussa store. It was 22:30 and the restaurant was 70% full. I noticed that the closing time was 23:00, which was earlier than I thought. I took a look at the ticket machine and ended up choosing the Shoyu ramen, no, actually the Shoyu ramen with extra flavoring. - Negi Tororo Ramen Shoyu (Extra Flavoring) ¥900 I ordered it firm and with extra flavoring. Last time, the flavor was a bit light, so I decided to go for extra flavoring this time. While waiting, I observed various things. The "Negi Tororo Ramen" does not refer to tuna, it means green onions and grated yam. The customers seemed to be quite young, and most of them ordered the regular portion instead of the small one. The restaurant mentioned that the parking lot had changed its location. The seating arrangement inside was interesting, with back-to-back counters. There were two staff members in the kitchen, and they were very attentive. The service was excellent, just like the main store in Hachioji. On the table, there were garlic, Ippatsu's vinegar, a sauce similar to Doubanjiang, and GABAN's Gourmet Mil. I wonder what Gourmet Mil is? Maybe it's black pepper? Well, I don't use it anyway. And then, the ramen arrived! The soup was Tonkotsu Shoyu with an extra flavoring. The Shoyu flavoring was sharp and delicious. This was so good. The impression completely changed from last time when the flavor was a bit light. However, towards the middle, it started to feel a bit salty, and I felt like having rice. I resisted the urge for rice, though. The noodles were thin and curly. The firm texture was really good! This is a must-have firm texture. It was so delicious. I felt like the portion was not enough. I understood why the young people ordered the regular size. And then, the much-anticipated grated yam! It was so good. It went well with the Shoyu soup. The chashu was incredibly tasty! I should have ordered the Chashu Ramen. The green onions were a bit lacking in quantity, but the seasoning was perfect. The portion was not enough. Next time, should I go for double green onions? But if I add that much, will the temperature drop? Towards the end, the saltiness became stronger. The settled grated yam was so delicious that I naturally started drinking the soup as well. I couldn't stop using the spoon. Maybe I went overboard with the extra flavoring. In the end, I finished all the soup. Overall, I was quite satisfied. The firm texture of the noodles was the best! If I had ordered rice with extra flavoring, it might have been the best. ★3.8 Maybe I don't need extra flavoring if I go for double green onions. I think the best option here is the Negi Tororo Chashu Ramen with double green onions and firm noodles. But the soup's temperature will drop, right? It's a dilemma because all the toppings are delicious. I don't usually add a lot of toppings, but at ramen shops like this, I feel like adding a lot of toppings such as grated yam and chashu. In any case, I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal. 2022.12
