I visited this restaurant on a weekday in February for lunch. I originally wanted to go to Fukutsubo, but it seemed to be temporarily closed. I was really hungry, so I ended up visiting this place that caught my eye. It is located right in front of Asakusabashi Station. The interior of the restaurant had a long and narrow shape. The majority of the customers seemed to be of Asian descent. I ordered the tantanmen. Unfortunately, the noodles had a disappointing lukewarm feel to them. They also seemed like instant noodles. Wait, this feeling seems familiar, like I've experienced it somewhere recently. The ingredients lacked a punch, and the meal felt rather empty. The restaurant seemed to be popular as it was full of customers.

The izakaya at Asakusabashi is the best! I always end up eating too much when I come here. The owner, an older woman, is amazing.

I visited for the first time in mid-August 2018, for a drinking party!! One of the members was a regular, so we had unlimited time!! For some reason, Chinese cuisine all-you-can-eat and drink is common, but the taste at this restaurant is also good!! I was very satisfied!! Everyone, please give it a try!!

Located on the first floor of a dining building across from Asakusabashi Station East Exit on Edo Street, this is an authentic Chinese restaurant. There are various menus displayed outside facing the road, but it can be confusing as the second floor is also a Chinese restaurant. The 7th floor and above are hostess bars. Now, let's talk about the great value Happy Hour set at Fuku-Rin-Mon for 980 yen. You can choose between 2 dishes and 1 drink, or 1 dish and 2 drinks. I had a draft beer, Fuku-Rin-Mon special gyoza, and Shaoxing wine. The draft beer comes in a slim glass and tastes decent. The Shaoxing wine is served in a beautiful sake pitcher. The gyoza may look small, but it is packed with filling. It is juicy with plenty of meat and crispy vegetables. Besides chives, there is also a hint of ginger in the filling. They provide homemade chili oil on the table, which pairs perfectly with the Fuku-Rin-Mon special gyoza. There is also an all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink option for 2,480 yen.

While looking for lunch near Asakusabashi Station, it started raining. I decided to duck into a izakaya building near the station. I looked at the lunch menu and chose "Fukurinmon". The tables were mostly full, so I ended up sharing a table with someone. The restaurant allows smoking, so there was a slight smell of smoke. I ordered the Chicken with Crispy Fried Leeks in Ginger Sauce (700 yen). It was essentially like a crispy chicken dish with a generous amount of leeks and a flavorful ginger sauce. It went really well with rice. For dessert, they served almond jelly, but it was overly sweet. I took one bite and left it. The salaryman next to me finished his meal and took a smoke break. They also had a drink bar where you could have coffee, which might be nice for smokers. (August 2016, Weekday, 3rd visit)

I stopped by for lunch. The location is a bit off from the east exit of JR Asakusabashi Station, just across Edo Street on the right side of a building on the first floor. It's a bit hidden, but there's a menu sign so it's easy to find. The restaurant is long and narrow, with a capacity of about 60 seats. The time is 11:50. There were about 15 customers already there and another 15 came in after me. There were quite a few solo customers. There were also a few Chinese customers. This time, I had the "Sweet and Sour Pork" lunch set. It was served in about 10 minutes as I watched TV. The sweet and sour pork was bite-sized and quite generous in portion. It came with salad, pickled vegetables, rice, soup, and almond jelly. Not bad at all. By the way, you can get a large serving of rice for free, and refills of drinks and almond jelly are unlimited. Let's dig in. The sweet and sour pork was hot, tender, and juicy. The bite-sized pieces were easy to eat, and the sweet and sour sauce was quite tasty, making the rice go down smoothly. The vegetables were cooked well and delicious. However, the taste got a bit monotonous towards the end. The soup was miso soup, which is rare for a Chinese restaurant. The salad and pickled vegetables were average. The almond jelly was rich in coconut milk and had a good amount, satisfying to eat. It served as a refreshing dessert. I finished with an iced coffee from the drink bar. If you opt for extra rice or refills, you'll be quite satisfied with the portion. All of this for 700 yen. It's a good value. Lunch starts at 600 yen, and the variety at the drink bar is quite good. It's convenient for business people in Asakusabashi. I'll definitely visit again.

I went to Asakusabashi, a place I don't usually visit, and stumbled upon a restaurant called "Fukurin" in a building near the station. Even though it's not related to the famous restaurant, they had a lunch set for 780 yen. I ordered the chicken and wood ear mushroom stir-fry set from the various options available. To cut to the chase, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations, but the chicken was tender, the flavors were refined, and I think they are skilled at cooking. The cost performance is too good. They even have a drink bar. The lunch competition area is of a high standard.

Fukurinmon @ Asakusabashi is a real place (lol). I was walking in Asakusabashi and was surprised by this sign, which clearly looks like a recent mainland Chinese capital establishment. Fukurinmon means "luck gathers at the entrance," derived from the auspicious phrase "五福臨門" which represents all types of luck - longevity, wealth, health, virtue, and a peaceful end. I decided to try it out and found it to be a popular large restaurant with a banquet going on in the back. I ordered some beer and appetizers - cucumber salad, spicy chicken liver, and stir-fried water spinach. The kitchen was busy and I didn't bother customizing my order. Overall, it was decent. Now, onto the next place! Next!!!

After getting off at JR Asakusabashi Station East Exit, cross Edo Street and walk about 10 meters towards Higashi-Nihonbashi. You'll find Senne Soba and Matsuya lined up, with the entrance a bit tucked away. Asakusabashi is actually a battleground for cheap lunch deals. I ordered the Chashu Tamago Stir-Fry for 500 yen, which supposedly comes with a choice of drink, but I wasn't asked and was served Oolong tea instead. Given the start, I didn't have high expectations for the food, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious! I was impressed by the quality of the food at this restaurant that competes in such a competitive area.

Visited around 7:30 pm on September 13, 2016 (Tuesday). I entered the Chinese restaurant and ordered the sweet and sour pork set meal. Since there was no set meal on the evening menu, I ordered the sweet and sour pork (700 yen) and rice (200 yen) separately. The sweet and sour pork served was a Japanese-style dish made with sweet bean sauce. The ingredients included cabbage, green peppers, bell peppers, onions, pork belly, and dried red chili peppers. The taste was typical of sweet and sour pork, with a slightly strong sweetness from the sweet bean sauce. It was a bit spicy, almost like sukiyaki. The rice was so delicious that one serving was not enough, so I asked for a refill. When I went to pay, they charged me 900 yen for two servings of rice. I mentioned that I had only asked for one extra serving, but they said the second serving was complimentary. The staff, who were smiling throughout, told me to come again, so I thought I might visit again. Next time, I might try the fried rice and dumplings.

I had chicken and eggplant miso stir-fry for lunch. It came with a generous main dish, shredded cabbage with a refreshing ponzu dressing, tofu soup, pickled vegetables, and almond jelly for 700 yen. This combination is common in Chinese lunch sets. The portion size is good, but those with small appetites may struggle to finish it. The taste is decent, but very oily, which is typical of Chinese food. The almond jelly is overly sweet, but it could be a nice palate cleanser. The restaurant is a bit hidden away, so it seems like a good place to go when you want to enjoy a leisurely meal.
