After reading Mr. Mairevi's comment, I was curious and decided to visit "Otsuichi" in Hamadayama that I had been thinking about. When I got off at Hamadayama Station on the Inokashira Line, I found that there was only a north exit. In order to get to the street on the south side where the restaurant was located, I had to cross a level crossing...^^; The area around the restaurant was quite quiet, and I used the hanging lanterns as a guide to enter. When I entered the restaurant, the staff greeted me warmly and helped me with my coat. When I was hesitating about where to hang it, the seat opened up and they kindly told me to "put everything there."^^ First, I ordered a "draft beer" and "simmered tripe." The plate was filled with a generous portion of simmered tripe, which was brought to me gently, and when I scooped it up with a spoon and tasted it, the white miso was rich and delicious! It went well with the beer!^^ After settling down, I ordered "Ichiban Shibori Kuro" beer and 4 grilled items. Large skewers of grilled items were served, and the beer went down smoothly. In the end, I had 3 beers, simmered tripe, and 4 skewers for just under 2,000 yen, which was surprisingly cost-effective! The service was also very pleasant, and if I lived in Hamadayama, I would probably stop by this restaurant every day!^^

On February 14th, 2021 (Sunday), I had dinner with my partner at a yakitori restaurant near Hamadayama on the Inokashira Line. We arrived at the restaurant at 4:48 PM, a bit earlier than we had planned. We ordered a variety of yakitori skewers including negima, tsukune, liver, pork-wrapped asparagus, and enoki mushrooms with tare sauce. The liver was cooked rare but tasted average, while the tsukune had a good amount of cartilage and was decent. The negima was okay, and the pork-wrapped items were quite tasty. We also ordered simmered motsu (tripe) and chilled tomatoes, both of which were delicious. The motsu was cooked in a blend of two types of miso and had a perfect balance of flavors. We wanted to order a stir-fry dish as well, but unfortunately, it wasn't available that day. We enjoyed a couple of refills of beer and yuzu sour, and the total bill came to 3880 yen, which was quite reasonable. The restaurant seemed to be run by two young people and had a friendly atmosphere. Today, Tokyo reported 371 new COVID-19 cases, with a total of 1362 cases nationwide. The earthquake in Tohoku last night was said to be an aftershock of the Great East Japan Earthquake, resulting in over 150 injuries but thankfully no fatalities. The recovery efforts for damaged buildings and roads will be challenging. I am now reconsidering my planned business trip to Tohoku later this month.

I made a reservation for a drinking and dining experience at a restaurant in Hamadayama known for their skewers. The place was always crowded, so I was curious to try it. I ordered a set of white hoppy beer, along with skewers of pork cheek, lamb shoulder, green onion, liver, heart, and garlic sprouts. The skewers were grilled on a gas stove, and the cooking was done perfectly with generous portions and high quality. The seasoning was great with a good amount of salt and strong black pepper. The prices were reasonable, and it's no wonder the place is always busy. Thank you for the delicious meal!

An izakaya in Hamadayama that opens early and offers cheap dishes. The food is decent for the price, but the stewed beef tripe is delicious. The regular customers and the owner are always chatting, which might make newcomers feel a bit uncomfortable.

Among all the foods I have eaten so far, there are a few that left me impressed and were surprisingly delicious, but the grilled chicken skin at this place is one of them. Many people are not fond of chewy skin, but the skin here is apparently given a special grilling treatment, resulting in a crispy texture. I have never had such delicious grilled chicken before. Both the sauce and salt seasoning are exceptional and yet the prices are reasonable. Overall, all the skewers are very tasty. The staff is genuinely friendly, and so far, there have been no disappointments with other menu items. The restaurant is a bit small, so it can get hot in the summer, but the amazing flavors and atmosphere make up for it. With the upcoming season being cooler, it is definitely worth a visit.

The area around Hamada-yama Station gives the impression of having many traditional izakayas despite the size of the station. I visited a quiet restaurant located a bit away from the station in December 2017. The atmosphere looked nice from outside, and the menu prices were reasonable with drinks around 400 yen, yakitori at 120 yen per skewer, and side dishes ranging from 300 to 400 yen. There was no cover charge or table charge, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was young, energetic, and friendly. The single customers made it a casual environment for a drink. The specialty was the pork-wrapped skewers with nine options, and I tried the quail egg-wrapped skewer. It was grilled carefully and had a tempting aroma. The skewers were large, well-seasoned, and delicious, especially the gizzard and quail egg skewers. The heart and skin skewers were also flavorful and perfectly grilled. Overall, it was a great experience and worth a visit.

Cheap, delicious, and great service, no complaints! It's an uplifting place to be! Despite having many regular customers, it's still comfortable to go alone, which is wonderful! You can also relax and sometimes strike up a conversation with the person sitting next to you. It's nice that they don't serve appetizers! There's a lot of competition in Hamadayama, so everyone is making an effort!
