I bought a meal ticket and sat at the counter, where I noticed a card that said, "We are not a tonkatsu restaurant." As I continued reading, I realized that this was a place to learn about natural foods as envisioned by the producers. I ordered a type of tonkatsu set meal where you can choose the type of meat. I chose the premium loin. It was just before 2 pm, and the place was busy, so I waited for about 15 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. The premium loin was about 1cm thick. It looked very ordinary, but when I tasted it, I could sense the goodness of natural ingredients. The breading was soft. There were various condiments such as sauce, soy sauce, salt, mustard, and chili. I particularly liked the coarse salt from Kagoshima. It has minerals that enhance the flavor of the loin. The rice was freshly cooked Niigata "Tsukihikari." The miso soup had tofu and enoki mushrooms with a rich miso flavor. The salad was made with organic vegetables and a dressing with the producer's name on it. There were also pickled vegetables with koji. From the main tonkatsu to the side dishes, everything was carefully selected. The flavors of natural ingredients were evident throughout. The staff were very polite and provided detailed explanations. The price was 1,200 yen, as stated on the sign that they are not a profit-seeking establishment. I hope more of these kinds of restaurants open up nearby.

On Sunday, after finishing our errands, my wife, daughter, and I visited this restaurant. It was my daughter's favorite place, and this was our third visit. My wife had never been before due to timing issues. We arrived at 12:50 PM and there were 8 people ahead of us in line. We purchased meal tickets for the "Jumbo Tonkatsu Set" (three kinds) for 1,900 yen each and waited in line. At the entrance, there was a tent, five round chairs, and cold hojicha tea available. We were seated at 13:17 after waiting in line. The restaurant had a clean counter with 11 seats. There were two men and one woman working. At 13:18, we were served cabbage and shiokoji pickles. We enjoyed these while waiting for our tonkatsu to arrive. The cabbage was served with a ginger and daikon dressing, which was refreshing. At 13:23, we were served rice and red miso soup. Finally, at 13:27, the tonkatsu arrived - three kinds: loin, belly, and lean meat. We enjoyed them with salt, spicy sauce, and spicy soy sauce. All the tonkatsu were tender and juicy. We were a bit disappointed that the rice and miso soup had cooled down by the time the tonkatsu arrived, but when we asked for a refill of rice for 50 yen, we were served hot and delicious rice. The rice was flavorful and paired well with the tonkatsu. We finished our meal at 13:49, and there were 10 people waiting in line. Thank you for the meal!

Second visit. The restaurant is usually busy with 2-3 people in line. The decor is modern with white attire. They offer three types of tonkatsu: loin, red meat, and pork belly, as well as rare cuts. Last time I ordered three types, but this time I went with one type for ¥1500. The tonkatsu is incredibly delicious, but the rice cooked in an earthenware pot is also amazing. You can get a refill of white rice for only ¥50, which is very reasonable. Adding a raw egg for a katsudon is a must. I end up enjoying the katsudon more than the tonkatsu itself. The restaurant is small and busy, so waiting for things like a refill of tea is just part of the experience.

A specialty tonkatsu restaurant that focuses on using high-quality feed for raising the pigs. I tried the top loin and the rare cut Chateaubriand. The sweetness of the pork goes well with the spicy soy sauce. I also felt the dedication in the vegetables and the rice cooked in a clay pot.

I love the tonkatsu here and this is my fourth time in a year! This time, I ordered two types: lean meat and a rare cut called Tomosonkaku. You can upgrade to the rare cut for an additional 700 yen. No matter how many times I eat here, I am always impressed by the taste. The meat is tender with a crispy texture, low in fat, and very easy to eat. The slices are small, making it very easy to enjoy. The rice is shiny and glossy too! The rice is also delicious. The red miso soup was also tasty.

For Sunday lunch, I was lucky to get in without waiting in line. It was my first time there, so I wasn't sure what to order, but I decided to go with the popular "3 kinds" set for 1,900 yen from the ticket machine. I enjoyed a refreshing salad with a hint of ginger while looking forward to the tonkatsu. The "3 kinds" included pork belly, loin, and lean meat. I usually only eat pork tenderloin, so I was a bit unsure about the other cuts. However, the pork belly was cut into small pieces and had a sweet oiliness that was delicious. The loin paired well with the mustard. The lean meat was consistently tasty and surprisingly tender. The salt seasoning was excellent. If I had worn more comfortable clothes, I could have easily eaten three bowls of rice. I regretted my choice of attire. For 1,900 yen, the quality of the "3 kinds" set was impressive. I will definitely be coming back for more.

I was looking for a lunch spot and luckily managed to get a table at San Cha without a reservation on a Saturday at 12 pm. The turnover was good even though a line started forming shortly after we arrived. They had limited supply of lean meat that day, so we could only choose between two or three types. I decided to order two types, choosing lean meat and loin. I'm not a fan of fatty meat, so I usually avoid loin as well. The result? The lean meat was incredibly delicious! It felt like eating fillet. It costs 1500 yen for one type, so I'll definitely come back when they have lean meat available. And most importantly, the rice was amazingly tasty! It was cooked in a clay pot and called "tsukiakari."

The set meal includes three types of meat 【Belly, lean, loin】 for ¥1900. The order of deliciousness and the suitable condiments are: 1) Lean meat... salt 2) Belly meat... soy sauce 3) Loin... sauce The quality at this price is amazing. It shows the effort of the restaurant and the pride of the chef. The miso soup can be upgraded with lots of ingredients for an additional ¥200, definitely worth ordering. The cabbage salad with ginger is refreshing, perfect for summer. The pickles made with salt koji seem healthy. The owner's dedication to serving the ingredients as they are with less salt is evident throughout. The rice is a bit soft, maybe a bit firmer would be better. Next time, let's try some rare cuts! (^^)

I went to a restaurant in Sangenjaya with my friend who is a movie director before watching a play. We had decided in advance to order Chateaubriand and lean pork cutlet. The pork cutlet, fried at a low temperature, had a white coating but was juicy and delicious. The rice was also delicious. I forgot to order miso soup~.

Delicious, too delicious! I have never encountered tonkatsu this delicious before. The chateaubriand tonkatsu was divine. Grateful for the wonderful encounter with this restaurant. I felt despair when I saw the sold out sign in the morning, but it turned out to be from the previous day. I was really relieved.

The beautiful attire, with a pale pink cross-section. Just by looking at it, you can tell it's delicious. It was my first time, so I chose the loin, but next time I want to try the lean meat. The rice was glossy, cooked in a clay pot perhaps? But it seemed less sweet and rich than it looked. Refills cost 50 yen.

The pork belly is superbly tender with a perfect balance of sweetness, oil, and flavor. The pork slices are finely cut and well thought out. The rice is cooked in a pot, giving it a nice texture. The beer is served in a chilled glass, and the crispy coating on the meat was delicious.

I came here after letting the kids play at Setagaya Park. I'm not sure which is the nearest station since I came by bicycle, but it might be Sangenjaya. The interior of the restaurant has a counter seating in a U-shape. First, you purchase a meal ticket and then wait to be called by the staff before taking a seat. As I read through the information on the table, I was amazed! This place is not a tonkatsu restaurant. It was opened not to sell tonkatsu, but to let people understand the true meaning of "ordinary" food. The goal is to provide safe and healthy food that we consume in our daily lives. It made me realize that delicious food doesn't have to be expensive. Even if it tastes good, is it really safe and reliable? In modern times, we are often bound by fixed ideas and forget about the most important things. It was a good lesson for me. Now, back to the food. I ordered the tonkatsu set (three kinds) for 1,900 yen. I wanted to try a variety of options. The cabbage salad was fresh and crunchy with a sweet taste. The miso soup was red and they asked if I wanted to add sansho pepper, to which I said yes. The slight spiciness added a nice touch to the soup. The rice was cooked in an earthenware pot and served in front of me. It was shiny, fluffy, and sweet! Now, the main dish. The tonkatsu was fried to a golden color with a hint of white. It consisted of lean meat, loin, and belly parts. It was made with a common pork called "Gensui pork," not a brand. It was surprisingly good! The lean meat was fried without being dry, the loin had a perfect balance of meat and fat, and the belly was overflowing with sweet fat. I recommend salt for the lean meat and sauce for the loin and belly. Of course, both ways are delicious. Rice refills cost an extra 50 yen, but if you can, it's worth it. Personally, it exceeded my expectations in terms of taste. I was completely satisfied with everything (laughs). I will continue to search for new "ordinary" experiences in the future.

I ordered the "3 types of tonkatsu for 1900 yen" that was at the top of the menu. I combined salt, sauce, soy sauce, and mustard with lean, pork belly, and loin to enjoy the different textures, flavors, and richness of each type of meat. It was very delicious. I had an extra serving of rice for 50 yen. They are particular about the brand of pork, and the value is really high for less than 2000 yen.

★Sangenjaya This is one of the places that comes to mind when I feel like eating delicious white rice in Sangenjaya. I usually buy my meal ticket and make upgrades to the 3 types of rare cuts, get extra servings of pork miso soup and cabbage, and buy an egg. The cabbage and dressing here are so delicious that I wish they were sold separately. The staff work efficiently with the minimum number of people. The tonkatsu and white rice are so delicious that I can't even think about having it with raw egg. The egg yolk is rich and flavorful. The rice is just so delicious, and the tonkatsu is so light that I can eat as much as I want. I tried making tonkatsu at home the next day (using rice oil and homemade breadcrumbs), but there was a big difference in the color and amount of oil in the batter. I won't be making tonkatsu at home anymore. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I was searching the internet for a tonkatsu restaurant to visit while in Sangenjaya, and I came across this place that was featured on a morning TV show recently. I arrived at the restaurant around 2 pm and there was only one other group of customers. I bought a meal ticket from the vending machine and chose the premium lean pork set meal. When I sat at the counter, I had to choose from three different cuts of pork on a board. The rib roast was already sold out, so I chose the Chateaubriand, sirloin, and tenderloin cuts. I also had to choose a side dish, and I chose natto. The food was served about 15 minutes after ordering. The tonkatsu here is cooked at a low temperature and made with a type of pork called "Gensui pork" that I had never heard of before. The set meal came with two pieces each of the lean pork, Chateaubriand, sirloin, and tenderloin cuts, and the portion size was just right. The tonkatsu was very light and the meat was neither too tough nor too tender. It lacked the juiciness, rich flavor, and sweetness that I usually enjoy in tonkatsu. I have been to various tonkatsu restaurants in Tokyo recently, so I may have higher expectations. However, I have only tried the premium lean pork set meal, so a regular tonkatsu set meal might give a different impression. I would like to try the regular tonkatsu set meal if I have the chance.

I discovered this place while passing by. It was my first visit and there were five people lined up in front of the store. I purchased a set of three kinds of tonkatsu using the ticket machine for 1900 yen, which is a decent price. The service was quick. The taste was elegant and surprising, but not outstanding. It was delicious, but I was hoping for more tonkatsu flavor, punch, or volume. It might be more suited for women. Thank you for the meal.

I lined up before the weekend opening, but there wasn't a line right when it opened. I ordered a set meal that included three types of tonkatsu, including rare kinds like pork belly. I also added a change to miso soup. It was delicious, but the regular lean meat tonkatsu was the most tasty.

Today I visited the producer cooperative Tonkatsu Gensui Buta. Tonkatsu Gensui Buta is a tonkatsu restaurant located in Sangenjaya, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo. It is a 3-minute walk from Sangenjaya Station, offering Gensui pork raised in a wide open space where they can play in the mud and drink plenty of naturally aged reduced water every day. The prices are reasonable and you can enjoy delicious tonkatsu. I decided to try the three kinds of tonkatsu this time. The special belly is lean and light, while the top loin has a rich taste of fat. The rice served here is also very delicious. Overall, I was satisfied with my meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

The Tonkatsu at Genkatsu Buta was so delicious that it made me feel a bit overwhelmed. I haven't had properly cooked food in a while since I've only been eating standing soba or ramen recently. Is it even more delicious when you finally eat something that's been properly prepared? Like when someone coming out of prison eats katsudon for the first time and their hands shake because it's so good? Either way, it was really delicious. The Tonkatsu set had three kinds - loin, red meat, and belly, all of which were seriously tasty, but the belly with salt was recommended. It definitely felt even more delicious than before. Did they change the way they fry it? Or did they simply improve their skills? The floor staff was the same as usual, but that's a minor flaw. I deducted one point for service. Maybe a daughter from a pig farm is doing training here.
