The spacious interior with a calming wood tone, featuring dishes like marinated herring from Nemuro, steamed chicken with eggplant and myoga spaghetti. The cutlery is all Laguiole, showing attention to detail. The Italian draft beer (Peroni Nastro Azzurro) and glass of wine (especially red) were also excellent.

"Osteria Felice" is the third time for me. On the second day of Golden Week, I ended up in Nakashibetsu due to heavy rain. My work got canceled because of the heavy rain, so I thought I would just go take a bath tomorrow. But when I suggested going to Nakashibetsu to my wife, she surprisingly agreed. It was my turn to make the Italian restaurant reservation. The first time, we were rejected for lunch. The second time, during an overnight stay in Nakashibetsu, we were rejected for dinner. But this time, on the third attempt, we were finally accepted. We arrived a bit early but were seated promptly. The restaurant was full except for a few tables, including ours. My wife chose a dish from the dinner menu, while I chose the "B course." We started with coffee, which was served from a machine. The appetizers were fancy and delicious, with a tasty dressing and rillettes that reminded me of fish. My wife's pasta arrived first, a creamy pasta with shrimp and various vegetables. It was simple but incredibly delicious. The pasta was thin and cooked perfectly. Then my pasta arrived, made with crab broth and monk's garlic. The sweetness of the crab miso was prominent in the dish. For dessert, we had a rich and creamy panna cotta. The chef thanked us warmly at the end of the meal. It was a truly enjoyable dining experience at this popular and authentic restaurant in Nakashibetsu. My wife rated it 4.5, and I rated it 4.2 out of 5.

It's been about a year since I last visited, and this was my second time at the restaurant. The Bagna Cauda pasta was delicious at 1320 yen, while the Peperoncino was light and clean at 950 yen. The Carbonara with Akanko pork bacon was rich and creamy at 1540 yen, and the tomato sauce with Akanko pork bacon and onions was also flavorful at the same price. Unfortunately, they were out of the Watarigani pasta. The Peperoncino was beautifully done, not oily but with a clear taste of garlic and chili. The Carbonara was creamy and rich, while the tomato sauce was cheesy and delicious. The Saffron-braised pork at 2500 yen was tender and filling, but towards the end, it was a bit heavy. Overall, the hearty Italian flavors were enjoyable. I plan to come back in the summer, hoping to try the sea urchin pasta again.

I came to eat the pasta recommended by a chef. The main dish takes a long time, so it's tough for families with children, so I gave up. But it seems that dishes recommended like this are delicious. While waiting, I ate the small shrimp ajillo for 960 yen. It was a dish that made me look forward to the upcoming pasta. The pasta dishes were: - Carbonara with Abashiri Pork Bacon for 1,450 yen - Tomato cream sauce with swimming crab broth and snow crab for 1,760 yen - Cold pasta with Shakotan sea urchin for 3,300 yen The pasta was thin but had a firm texture. The emulsified sauce was amazing, especially with the crab. It was a dish recognized by a top chef, and I was also very satisfied.

In July 2018, I visited a restaurant for lunch with a friend without a reservation. We looked at the menu and initially considered the A course for 1080 yen, which includes salad, today's pasta, focaccia, and a drink set. However, since the pasta option was only shiitake mushroom peperoncino, we decided to go for the B course for 1580 yen. This course allows you to choose between salad or today's appetizer, pasta, focaccia, two desserts, and a drink. We chose the pasta with tender simmered pork and green vegetables peperoncino. The other pasta options were bacon and eggplant in tomato sauce, steamed chicken and tomato cold pasta, and salmon and mushroom cream sauce. We both chose the steamed chicken and tomato cold pasta. For drinks, we had iced coffee and for appetizers, we had quiche and pate. The cold pasta was light and delicious, and even though it was served with capellini, the noodles were not too thin. Cold pasta is definitely a great choice for summer! The two desserts were small but a nice way to end the meal. Overall, it was a delicious lunch experience.

October 19, 2016, Wednesday After a long time, I checked Facebook and saw that the restaurant was closed for a cooking class, so I decided to inquire about the class. Since I didn't make a reservation, I wasn't sure if I could get a table. When I arrived, there was only one parking space available, but the staff welcomed me in and I sat at the counter. The menu offered a lunch set B which included a choice of appetizer or salad, homemade bread, pasta (choice of), dessert, and a drink set for 1580 yen. I chose the Hokkaido octopus terrine for the appetizer and Hokkaido amberjack and eggplant in spicy tomato sauce for the pasta. The dessert was chocolate gateau and crème brûlée. I also had oolong tea to drink. It was nice to enjoy Italian cuisine using local Hokkaido ingredients in Shibetsu. The restaurant also hosts cooking classes, and the chefs were kind enough to share some tips with me. I hope to gather enough people to attend one of these classes in the future. The lunch was delicious, thank you. April 24, 2016, Sunday I revisited the restaurant without a reservation, marking my fifth visit in a year. This place is the go-to spot for Italian cuisine using local and seasonal Hokkaido ingredients in the countryside. Although there are several Italian restaurants in Kushiro, if you want to enjoy Italian cuisine in Shibetsu, this is the place to be! I decided on the recommended menu for the day, which featured cherry shrimp. I ordered garlic oil simmered small shrimp, homemade bread, asparagus fritters, snow crab quiche, spaghetti with cherry shrimp and spring vegetables, and Takikawa duck confit. For dessert, I had black tea crème brûlée with strawberry gelato and cherry blossom gelato. The duck confit was incredibly tender and delicious. The menu includes both regular items and daily specials, so it's best to ask the staff for recommendations. The cherry blossom gelato had a hint of cherry blossom flavor and felt very refreshing. I should have ended the meal with an espresso. Thank you for the delicious meal. April 23, 2015, Thursday I made a last-minute reservation and arrived at 8 pm. The staff informed me that the last order would be at 9 pm. I started with a toast with blood orange and oolong tea. I ordered from the daily specials, including new onion panna cotta with prosciutto, Mozzarella cheese with Shibetsu beef, tagliolini with cherry shrimp and tomato, and soy aqua pazza. The soy aqua pazza was very satisfying. I wanted to order the sweet potato soup, but it wasn't available. This Italian restaurant is a great place to dine casually. Thank you for the meal. December 23, 2014, Tuesday I wanted to have a Christmas dinner, so I made a reservation on December 5th and was lucky to secure a table. When I arrived at 6:30 pm, the restaurant was full. The dinner included three appetizers: cauliflower mousse with tomato jelly and caviar, warm terrine of lobster, and chestnut soup with foie gras. The pasta was handcrafted tagliatelle with duck and burdock ragout with orange flavor. The fish dish featured Matsue shrimp. The chestnut sweetness and foie gras combination was a bit overwhelming for me. The handmade pasta was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

While exploring the outdoor baths, I found myself in Nakashibetsu around lunchtime. I searched on my phone for a good restaurant but couldn't find one that caught my eye. Suddenly, I looked up and saw an Italian restaurant right in front of me (laughs). I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is called "Osteria Felice" located at 2-1-9 Higashi 6-jo Kita, Nakashibetsu-cho, Shibetsu-gun. They are open from 11:30 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 21:30, closed on Mondays and the second Tuesday of the month. They have parking, and it is non-smoking during lunch hours. I was surprised to find Italian cuisine in this area, as I was actually looking for Western-style restaurants and only found dessert shops or Japanese cuisine. I ordered the B course lunch for 1250 yen, which included appetizers, homemade bread, pasta, dessert, and a drink. The appetizer was delicious, with ham that was not too overpowering. The pasta was handmade tagliatelle with squid ink sauce, which was surprisingly good with a slightly sweet and salty taste. It had a hint of Japanese flavor to it. The dessert, a Haskap berry cake, was amazing! The texture and the subtle aroma of Haskap berries were delightful. It seems like Nakashibetsu has some great dessert options to explore.

In eastern Hokkaido, in Nakashibetsu, there is an Italian restaurant. It is still new and stylishly decorated. <LUNCH C> 1850 yen Appetizer: "Marinated Nakashibetsu sardines" The acidity and saltiness are slightly strong, so it seems to be enjoyed with wine. The "homemade bread" had a wheat flavor and was easy to pair with the meal. It was slightly dry. Handmade pasta: "Squid ink tagliolini with fresh tomato and small shrimp" The noodles were cooked well, with a subtle squid ink flavor. The small shrimp were plump, and the cooking was just right. The flavor was mainly dominated by the acidity and umami of the tomatoes. The olive oil and subtle saltiness balanced the overall dish. "Pork cheek sauté" The cooking was stronger than my preference, and the simple seasoning was okay, but not quite to my taste. The accompanying meat sauce had a more universally appealing flavor, so I borrowed a bit of its power. The dessert and coffee did not leave a strong impression. The service was not quite polished yet. This restaurant is still on its way, so thank you for the meal.

When I feel like having Italian food in Nakashibetsu, I always come here. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you'll notice a large cello. The atmosphere is filled with the chef's commitment, with carefully selected ingredients from various parts of Hokkaido written on the blackboard. Every dish is delicious, but the Bagna Cauda is especially recommended for its crisp vegetables and exquisite sauce flavor! You can also buy the Bagna Cauda sauce for 630 yen to enjoy a luxurious dinner at home. It's often fully booked for both lunch and dinner, so it's better to make a reservation. The lunch C course is 1,950 yen and includes appetizers, homemade bread, pasta, main course, 2 types of desserts, and a drink. It's worth trying when you have the time!

On August 16, 2012, we arrived at "Osteria Felice" for a late lunch, around 1:30 pm. We were told that they had run out of tomato sauce for the lunch menu, but they still had other pasta options available. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and we decided to order from the affordable lunch menu. Prices ranged from around 900 yen to 1500 yen, which was a great deal. We could choose from various appetizers, pasta, bread, and drinks. I was surprised that we could have unlimited bread refills. We could also choose from a selection of pasta and desserts. I even opted for wine as my drink, as they had a wine option available. Despite it being lunchtime, I couldn't resist ordering a sparkling wine as well. The pasta paired perfectly with the bread, and the dessert and hot coffee were delicious. The salad dressing was also excellent. The taste, atmosphere, staff, and prices were all fantastic. It was a highly satisfying dining experience after a long time.
