On this day, I had dinner in Ginza. I decided to visit a restaurant located on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza's restaurant street. There are several restaurants, but this time I chose to enter a shop called Ueno Seiyoken. The deciding factor for entering was that the Hayashi Rice looked delicious. I was guided to a table at the back. There weren't many customers, probably because it was a weekday. Although I planned to eat Hayashi Rice, I ended up choosing the chef's recommended course. First, there was corn potage soup. Corn potage in restaurants always has a special feeling, no matter where you eat it. Why is that? Next was the salad. Two types of bread were served. The chef's recommended dishes were grilled harami meat and sausage in the foreground, and vegetable foil-baked in the background. The tomato sauce was slightly spicy, stimulating my appetite. After the meal, I had coffee. I think it's perfect for when you want to eat dinner quickly and lightly.
Below is a previous review:
Today, I had my first Kaki Fry of the season at Ueno Seiyoken on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza main store. I realized that I hadn't eaten Kaki Fry yet this season, and remembered that this restaurant served Kaki Fry during the winter, so I decided to visit. It was early in the evening on a weekday, so the restaurant was empty. There was only one other group of customers. The menu includes fish dishes, meat dishes, stews, and several French & Western dishes. This time, I ordered the "Chef's Recommended Kaki Fry Limited to 30 servings per day (2835 yen)." The dish comes with soup, rice, salad, and coffee. The explanation for the Kaki Fry stated that it uses fresh Kaki from Mie Prefecture, fried to be crispy and served with special tartar sauce. After ordering, soup and salad were served, followed by the Kaki Fry. The Kaki Fry was medium-sized with a light color. It was probably fried in low-temperature oil. The taste was a traditional Kaki Fry. It had less batter compared to Kaki Fry from tonkatsu restaurants. For the first Kaki Fry of the season, it was quite good. My personal ranking of French restaurants in Tokyo department stores is as follows. I think I've visited all of Tokyo's department stores. The names in parentheses are the department stores.
