The building was dirty and the inside of the cafe was also dirty, which surprised me. I managed to get a seat just as it was full, but it seemed like other customers were staying for a long time so the turnover rate seemed low. Two more groups came later but there was no waiting area so they were turned away. I wanted to eat chiffon cake but it was sold out. I ordered a Blue Hawaii Cream Soda for 770 yen and a pudding for 500 yen because I like blue. Since all the other customers in the cafe were ordering the Cream Soda, they told me there were no more glasses and asked if it was okay to use a different (less photogenic) glass. I hesitated and then the kitchen staff said, "I'll bring out a new one so it's okay," in an irritated manner and brought it to us. I thought they should have arranged for enough glasses so that they wouldn't run out even if all the customers ordered. The pudding was firm and delicious, but the Cream Soda was just average. I didn't like the dirtiness of the building, the inside of the cafe, and the chairs and tables. The staff seemed busy and their attitude was not very good. Cream Soda seems to be popular because it's Instagrammable, but I probably won't go there again.

Located a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku-Sanchome Station, Breath Cafe is a popular cafe on the third floor of a mixed-use building on a street just east of Shinjuku Suehiro-cho. I visited for the first time at 14:15 on a weekday. There were 5 groups of 11 customers already there and 2 groups of 5 customers arriving after me. I had seen their strawberry chiffon cake on Instagram and couldn't decide between that and their seasonal limited edition strawberry tart. Weak against limited edition items, I ended up choosing the seasonal limited edition strawberry tart for 1980 yen and an iced coffee for 550 yen. After about a 15-minute wait, the strawberry tart arrived, and it was huge! It was the size of a 4-5 person tart, but meant for one person. The tart crust was crispy, topped with strawberry custard cream, a light whipped cream, and fresh strawberries. It was so delicious and filling! I confirmed that the strawberry chiffon cake is available year-round, so I plan to come back for that another day. Note that lunch is served from 12:00 to 14:00, and sweets are available from 14:00 to 17:00, so be mindful of the timings.

This time, I visited Breath Cafe, which is about a 12-minute walk from Shinjuku Station South Exit, for a meeting. I had just eaten a hearty meal in Ueno before coming, so I was hoping for some sweets as indicated on the sign. However, as you can see in the photos, they only had lunch menus, so I ended up having lunch twice, haha. The roast beef was very delicious and I was able to enjoy it even though I was already full.
