I have eaten at proper fugu restaurants before, but this place exceeded my expectations. It was worth it to go for the full course. The grilled fugu and grilled shirako were especially amazing. The menu included fugu sashimi, grilled shirako, fugu tempura, fugu chili, fugu shabu-shabu, kudzu pickles, zosui with mochi, fruits, and Urakasumi sake.

In winter, it's hard to get a reservation at this restaurant, but when I called the day before, they were able to fit us in. It was empty when we visited, probably due to COVID-19. Nonetheless, I'm grateful. The fried chicken and grilled blowfish were delicious. The blowfish fin sake was huge and we had three rounds of it. This place has the best blowfish fin sake. Their tradition is to add kuzu-cut into the hot pot after the meal, and the mochi in the fluffy porridge was a nice touch. The blowfish is from Akashi!

This is a fugu restaurant located about a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku-Sanchome Station. I visited because I wanted to eat natural tiger pufferfish and its shirako (milt). The restaurant is on the second floor and all the seating is in private rooms. The walls are thin and the atmosphere is not very luxurious, but it's a calming space. I called ahead and requested a course that included tessa (sashimi), karaage (fried chicken), and fugu chiri (hot pot), and also added shirako separately. The shirako was 5,000 yen for one piece, like a shining jewel. I focused and savored every bite. It was delicious✨ Overall, I felt the prices were a bit high. If it's because it's fugu, then so be it.

Located near Shinjuku-sanchome Station in Tokyo, this restaurant offers a blowfish course menu today. Starting with appetizers and side dishes, the blowfish sashimi is quite generous in portion. Next is grilled blowfish, which can be enjoyed with ponzu sauce or salt. Then comes blowfish hot pot and rice porridge to finish off the meal. The portions are quite substantial. Although the blowfish may not be of extremely high quality, I found this restaurant to be relatively affordable.

Some places don't serve summer fugu, but Akashi-san does it every year! And the best part is that summer fugu is half the price of winter fugu. What a great deal! This time, the course included fugu shirako (milt) grilled. From fugu sashimi to karaage, and even shabu-shabu and tetchiri, they had it all. Sometimes they don't have shirako, but this time they did and it was so delicious that I ended up asking for seconds. The fin sake was also really tasty!

The blowfish in the north is special. Eating blowfish in May is exceptional. Besides hot pot, there are other delicious options too. Take your time to enjoy it. It's hot, but the blowfish fin sake here is amazing when served warm. The extra-large fin is even better. I'll definitely choose this again next time! It seems you can go until the end of June. I want to come back one more time...!

I visited this restaurant during the daytime. I noticed they were doing some outdoor promotion work near the third block before noon, so I decided to check it out. Although their prices are high at night, it seemed more affordable during the day. They have seating available underground, and I was directed to a counter seat. It was almost full even though it was before 12 o'clock, indicating its popularity. The menu consists of various dishes priced at 1000 yen each, making it difficult to choose. I observed that grilled fish and chirashi were popular choices. After much deliberation, I ordered the fried and sashimi set (Option C). The food is prepared on the first floor and brought down to the underground kitchen. The main dish included fried fish such as sand borer, large oyster, and shrimp. The quality of the ingredients and the crispy texture were excellent. The sashimi set featured red shrimp, yellowtail, and mackerel, along with a side dish of salmon belly and cucumber salad. The miso soup was flavorful with a hint of blowfish. They offer unlimited rice, miso soup, and whitebait. Everything was delicious, and I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. Considering the quality of the food, the price of 1000 yen was truly a bargain. I could easily imagine paying double at a fish restaurant in a department store. Although the lunch was affordable, the dinner prices might be higher. I left around 12:30, and the chirashi lunch was already sold out. I'll have to try that next time. Despite the quality of the food, there wasn't much of a line, so it might be a hidden gem. If I ever crave a fish lunch in Shinjuku again, I will definitely return to this restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is not very spacious, with only private rooms, so you can enjoy your meal in a calm atmosphere. The shirako is delicious and creamy. From the tessa to the hot pot and the final course, you will feel quite satisfied. They offer a variety of sake cups to choose from, all of them are cute, so I had a hard time deciding.

When grilling blowfish fins, dim the room lights. Before finishing the meal, eat all the ingredients and then enjoy the kudzu soup. The porridge is prepared in the kitchen with a subtle addition of mochi. Everything is excellent here - the blowfish is top quality and the relaxed atmosphere is wonderful. The hostess provides warm service. Definitely a place worth visiting again.

I found a high-class fugu restaurant in Shinjuku for lunch, and decided to try it out. The place was elegant and the food was delicious, although the menu was not extensive. The fish lunch was carefully prepared and tasty. It was a great value for 1000 yen.

Akashi, a restaurant located near the back of Komehyo in Shinjuku Sanchome, offers natural blowfish cuisine at a reasonable price for lunch. The restaurant is on the second floor. The lunch set includes rice, miso soup, pickles, onsen egg, tofu, and sashimi (squid, crab, sweet shrimp, octopus, tuna) making it a luxurious meal. As you can see from the photos, the sashimi is fresh and delicious with a beautiful sheen. You can also get seconds of rice.

Today's lunch is at "Fugu Wasyoku Akashi" in Shinjuku Sanchome. It is a specialty store for natural tiger puffer fish. Even though I have never had even farmed puffer fish before, I wonder if I can judge the taste. However, anything natural is delicious, so I have high expectations. They offer a variety of dishes such as a sashimi platter and grilled mackerel set, but of course, I chose the puffer fish tempura set. The restaurant is bustling with salarymen and office ladies who love puffer fish. It's a luxury to see executives enjoying puffer fish during lunchtime. After a 15-minute wait, the dish arrived. It looks delicious. I wonder what the taste of natural puffer fish is like. "It was worth the wait, incredibly delicious. The tender white flesh melts in your mouth." How can I describe this taste? The collagen that clings around the bones deep in the white flesh. I carefully remove it from the bones. Is this where the flavor comes from? The bones of the puffer fish are thick. Perhaps the rich broth comes from around these bones. Is this why puffer fish hot pot is so delicious? When you see the body of the puffer fish, you can understand why it needs such a thick tail fin and strong backbone to withstand the water flow underwater. The muscular flesh and refreshing white flesh. This balance is what makes it so good.

At a year-end party, we enjoyed a fugu course with dishes such as tessa (thinly sliced fugu sashimi), grilled fugu, fugu tempura, and fugu-chiri (hot pot). Fugu is known as "tessa" because it can be deadly if not prepared properly.

Sometimes it's nice to have a night review. The specialty of this natural blowfish restaurant is all private rooms. The course is decently sized, with dishes like blowfish sashimi and fried blowfish, as well as other rare items. Among them, the standout is definitely the blowfish milt! Rich and full of flavor. This time, I had it grilled, bringing out its sweetness. The blowfish sashimi was fresh and delicious, and the blowfish hot pot was excellent. The meal ended with a porridge with rice cakes! It was a luxurious dinner that went well with sake.

Visited the restaurant for a course meal. All seats were private rooms, and it seemed like we were the only group there because it was a Tuesday. Despite being the end of the season, they also had additional shirako available. We could choose to have it grilled or in a hot pot, and we ended up choosing the grilled shirako. It was so delicious that we ended up ordering more when we had it in the hot pot! The portion size was generous and it seems like a place that could be used for business entertaining as well. ✨
