Located in Marunouchi, Tokyo, Sukiyaki Moritaya is a traditional Kyoto-style sukiyaki and shabu-shabu restaurant. It was established in Kyoto as Morita-ya, the first beef shop in the city, in 1869. The Tokyo branch opened in 2002, followed by another branch in Ginza Mitsukoshi in 2019. The restaurant is known for its high-quality beef sourced from its own ranch in Tanba, Kyoto, where they raise Japanese Black cattle. The lunch menu includes Kyoto lunch boxes, beef stew, chilled sukiyaki, wagyu hot pot, steak, and various courses. During a visit with a friend, they opted for the wagyu hot pot, which came with beef simmered in soy sauce, Kyoto pickles, a raw egg, and rice. The main dish, wagyu hot pot, was prepared with wagyu beef in Moritaya's special sauce, served in a stone pot with vegetables and tofu. The beef was tender and melted in the mouth, while the sauce was perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness. The meal was complemented by firm yet flavorful rice, made with Kyoto's Koshihikari rice. They also enjoyed a refreshing iced coffee after the meal, served in a copper cup. The attentive service and beautiful view from the window made the dining experience relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, they felt satisfied with the quality of the food and the value for money, and expressed a desire to return for the chilled shabu-shabu in the summer.

Once in a while, it's nice to have a good lunch♪ So I went to Moritaya on the 35th floor of Marunouchi Building. When making a reservation, they asked if I wanted to secure a window seat for an additional fee, but I chose not to. However, perhaps because I arrived early, they seated me by the window. (There were other customers who arrived later and didn't get window seats, so I was lucky!) The meal with a fantastic view was amazing! This restaurant is famous for sukiyaki, so I chose the Wagyu hot pot. It was my first time trying Kyoto beef, and it was incredibly delicious.

Visited Moriya-ya, a sukiyaki restaurant located on the 35th floor of Marunouchi Building during lunch time on the weekend. Although the restaurant specializes in sukiyaki and shabu-shabu, I ordered the steak course. I opted for the Special Steak Course with 200g of filet for 13,200 yen. The meal started with appetizers and everything, including the meat, was of high quality and extremely delicious. I definitely want to come back to try their sukiyaki and shabu-shabu next time.

Sukiyaki is famous, but I wanted steak so I had the special selected Japanese beef fillet steak for lunch. It was different from the regular steak on the lunch menu in terms of meat quality, so I chose the one that looked delicious. The staff's recommendation was right, the meat was tender, the flavor was elegant and delicious. The cooking was also just the way I like it, so I plan to go back when I want to eat steak again.

This was my second visit. It's lovely to be able to enjoy a meal while looking at the beautiful view of the Imperial Palace! I think it's also great for a date. You can enjoy a Kyoto-style sukiyaki in a calm atmosphere. The professionals cook it for you, so you don't have to worry about the cooking process, and it's very delicious.

Before my father passed away, we used to visit Moritaya together as a family. It had been a while since our last visit, so we made a reservation and went back. We were seated by the window with a great view - we could see Mt. Fuji in the distance and the Nijubashi Bridge up close. The meat was as delicious as ever, and even when cooked medium rare, it was still tender. Since we went for lunch on a weekday, the menu was very affordable, but we still got to enjoy the amazing view, excellent service, and delicious meat. I was so satisfied, it almost felt like I didn't deserve it.

It was a company dinner and we had sukiyaki. Recently, Ikko recommended a successor restaurant to Chin-ya, a sukiyaki restaurant that used to be in Nakasu, Fukuoka. I remembered Chin-ya and wanted to eat sukiyaki again! Chin-ya was delicious. So, we went to this restaurant. It was tasty, but the amount of meat for 6,600 yen was a bit disappointing. We had a budget limit so we couldn't order more. The quality was okay. It wasn't bad, but with this cost performance, I don't think I'll come back. However, considering the good view from the high floor of Marui Building, it's not that bad after all.

We went on a date as a couple. It was raining that day, but the view from the top of the building was nice. We had a lunch of beef hot pot set. The meat and vegetables were just the right amount and delicious, so we had seconds of rice. The side dishes were also good. For dessert, we had a nut cake and muscat grapes. They were delicious too, and we were satisfied with the lunch. We would like to go again.

Today, I had a delicious steak bowl at Moritaya in Marunouchi Building. The salad was also very tasty. I ordered my steak medium and it was perfect. The steak was topped with a generous amount of steak sauce and served with delicious rice. The balance of the meal was excellent. The steak, made with Kyoto beef, was incredibly tender and flavorful. It was a satisfying and delicious meal that gave me a lot of energy.

Located on the 35th floor of Marunouchi Building, this Kansai-style sukiyaki restaurant is a hidden gem. I visited on a Friday at 6:30 pm without a reservation and was seated promptly. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the restaurant was not crowded. I opted for the Special Sukiyaki Course (¥12,430) which included 5 types of appetizers, premium black wagyu beef, specially selected sirloin (150g), vegetables, rice, red miso soup, pickles, and dessert. The appetizers were beautifully presented and had a refreshing taste perfect for summer. The black wagyu beef dish was intricate and delicious. The meat was expertly cooked by the staff, and the addition of sugar at the beginning surprised me (a unique Kansai-style touch). The meat was tender, and the combination of meat, sauce, and egg was exquisite. The rich flavors paired well with the white rice (you can have seconds of rice and miso soup). The dessert consisted of fruits and Yatsuhashi, a Kyoto specialty. It was a pleasant surprise to see Yatsuhashi in Tokyo. The vanilla ice cream and Yatsuhashi complemented each other perfectly. The delicious meat, attentive service, and stunning view from the 35th floor of Marunouchi Building make this restaurant ideal for a date. Highly recommended.

With a stunning view overlooking the Imperial Palace and the National Diet Building, this restaurant offers 250g of ribeye steak tailored to your liking. According to my web research, this is a renowned beef restaurant that originated in Kyoto 150 years ago, specializing in Japanese beef cuisine. Established in 1869 (Meiji 2), "Sakunogyu Moritaya" was the first beef specialty store in Kyoto founded by Uonosuke Morita. During the Meiji Restoration, a time of cultural enlightenment when Emperor Meiji himself promoted the consumption of beef, this innovative restaurant in Kyoto quickly spread the new culinary culture of eating beef across the country. I visited this restaurant on a Wednesday at 6:30 pm with a group of nine agents, each ordering their preferred cut, weight, and doneness of steak. As a food enthusiast, I opted for a rare 250g ribeye steak. We enjoyed various appetizers before the main course arrived, accompanied by plenty of beer and wine. Please enjoy the photos of our meal. Midway through the dinner, two of us had to leave to catch the last Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka, but we made it in time. Please note that the ceiling is painted with a bamboo forest design and the green lighting may affect the color of the photos. The actual dishes are beautifully presented. The location is good, with a historical atmosphere, and the staff, mainly elderly women in kimonos, are kind. We were a group of about 10 people having a casual meal together, so we were looking for a private room, but they didn't have one. Instead, they showed us to a semi-private area in the back. The food was, well, just average, nothing particularly outstanding. Sorry.

The hospitality, the scenery, and the meat were all fantastic. I visited for lunch. First, I had a shochu highball, and the way it was prepared with the right amount of ice was perfect. It really showed the high level of the restaurant. Regardless of your preference for meat, Nakai-san cooks efficiently at the table, allowing for a relaxed conversation with friends. Visited on Sunday for a lunch reservation. It was crowded, indicating its popularity. The view was also nice. Ordered the "Ultimate" course. The five appetizers were delicious, with the scallops being particularly tasty and the dashi in the boiled dish being flavorful. The texture of the conger eel was also good. The nigiri sushi with black wagyu beef and caviar was amazing, the meat was so flavorful and melted in the mouth. However, the one with edamame was not as good, maybe a different option would be better? The broiled conger eel had a few bones but was delicious, especially with the dashi. The sukiyaki was incredibly delicious without needing any words to describe it. The meat was flavorful as expected. The presentation was beautiful as well. They cook it right in front of you, so you can enjoy it at its best. The dessert selection was wide and all of them were delicious and visually appealing! The intensity of the matcha was impressive. The humorous way the staff referred to the dishes, like "leafy-chan," was also nice. Thank you for the feast.

4/17, 4 people visited. It had been a while since we last came. We were here for the sukiyaki. We ordered the course meal, which included luxurious ingredients like sea urchin, roast beef, and meat sushi. The main highlight was definitely the meat. The sukiyaki was prepared right in front of us with skillful techniques. The taste of the ingredients and the charm of the meat were conveyed perfectly. The sweetness of the sugar and the perfectly cooked vegetables made it a healthy dish. The dessert, a melon, was incredibly sweet and satisfying. The explanations during the meal service were clear, and the timing and actions for serving and clearing the dishes were polite and precise. Thank you for the delicious sukiyaki.

I had a high-class sukiyaki that was made for me. Each appetizer and the quality and taste of the sukiyaki meat were delicious. I splurged on the marbled course, and it was a great choice. Each bite was filled with happiness. I was able to have seconds of rice, so I had two helpings... It was a lunch, but this restaurant is perfect for special occasions as well.

Today we had a dinner meeting combined with a study session! I chose the restaurant and all the board members were very satisfied! It seems like I've won them over with the food! We all enjoyed sukiyaki, which everyone loves! And on top of that, we had a panoramic view of the Imperial Palace from the 35th floor of Marunouchi Building! We had a private room tonight! Enjoying sukiyaki while gazing at the amazing night view is the best! The meat was Kyoto beef! The lady who cooked it for us was also very entertaining! We even had luxurious seconds of the meat! You can enjoy the same taste as Moriya-ya in Kyoto at a restaurant in Tokyo. The atmosphere of the staff is just as friendly and welcoming as in Kyoto, although the Tokyo restaurant has a more urban feel, which felt a bit mismatched. It was very convenient to be able to enjoy this taste without having to go to Kyoto. They offer two types of meat, special sirloin and lean meat, and I tried both to compare. From now on, I think I will stick to the special sirloin course only. (I added special sirloin on this day).

Amidst the ongoing spread of the coronavirus, I had a long-awaited dinner meeting with a business partner in Tokyo. I arrived at the restaurant more than 30 minutes late, but we started once I got there since the main dish was sukiyaki. We enjoyed three appetizers and some drinks while chatting. Then, the sukiyaki was served on the table. We cooked the high-quality Wagyu beef in a cast-iron pot, adding sugar to balance the flavors. I usually find heavily marbled beef a bit too fatty, but this meat had just the right amount of fat and was very tender and delicious. Although I wished there was a bit more meat (only two slices), overall, I thought the dishes were of high quality and very tasty. While places like Imahan also serve great sukiyaki, this restaurant on the 65th floor of the Marunouchi Building offers a beautiful night view, making it a great choice for sukiyaki dining.

I came here after a long time, the building is right near Tokyo Station, on the 35th floor. The elevator takes you there quickly. I made a reservation in advance and was smoothly guided to my seat. They allowed me to bring my shoulder bag and even provided a cloth to cover it. This place serves Kyoto cuisine, and I chose plum wine as my drink. It had a sake-like flavor. I opted for the course meal, which included visually appealing dishes with great ingredients, portion sizes, and seasoning. The sukiyaki was cooked in a pot by the staff, and the taste was outstanding. They served it in three parts, changing the plate each time. The flavor infused in the vegetables was amazing. The broth was delicious. The dessert was Western-style, which felt a bit odd with the green tea they served. I thought something like zenzai would have been a better fit. The sukiyaki was incredibly delicious, and the staff's service was very attentive. Thank you for the meal.

I originally planned to have a light lunch course and leave, but the incredibly soft tofu and thick shiitake mushrooms were so impressive that I ended up ordering more ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆ Additionally, Manager Yoshizawa's hospitality was so wonderful that I couldn't help but order more delicious meat! ♡ Not only was the consideration top-notch, but the way he inserted humor and engaged in small talk was truly impressive!
