It has been about 20 years since I last stayed at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. The location is convenient, as it is located near Shinagawa Station. If you are coming by car, you can access it from the Daiichi Keihin road, and if you are on foot, you can take the route from Ishigaki-zaka towards the Takanawa Prince Hotel direction. From Shinagawa Station, you can cross the Daiichi Keihin road and walk through the shopping mall Wing Takanawa, where you will find a path leading to the Prince Shinagawa Hotel.
Inside the hotel premises, there is a convenience store called Seven-Eleven, which has over 3,500 rooms and is usually fully booked due to the large number of guests. The convenience store seems to cater mainly to hotel guests, offering a variety of food items, bento boxes, onigiri, and ice cream. Compared to luxury hotels, where guests often dine outside, this convenience store provides a more general selection of items, reflecting the current trend.
The store seems to have a standard size for a convenience store in central Tokyo, with a sufficient stock of food items, bento boxes, onigiri, ice cream, alcoholic beverages, canned juices, and bottled drinks in the fridge. While the variety may seem limited, the store appears to be well-stocked. Notably, the store prominently displays daily necessities such as underwear and stockings on the first shelf, likely for the convenience of hotel guests.
During my visit, the store was crowded with Chinese-speaking customers, some of whom were purchasing items in bulk or preparing meals using the microwave or hot water for cup noodles. Despite the busy atmosphere, I was able to purchase the mineral water I was looking for after waiting in line for a while. Overall, the store seems to have everything one might need during their stay at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel, making it a convenient option for guests.
