Location: Shibuya Scramble Square 14th floor
Time limit: 90 minutes
I had been curious about Kagurazaka Saryo, so I decided to visit when I had some free time. It's a popular place, so there was a bit of a line during lunchtime, but I was lucky to get in relatively quickly. I was seated by the window, and even though it was cloudy, I could still enjoy the familiar view of Shibuya while relaxing with some tea. The matcha and Japanese sweets I had while gazing at Shibuya's scenery were delicious and soothing. Since it's autumn, I decided to try the Mont Blanc and matcha ice cream set. It was nice to realize that there's a place in Shibuya where you can relax and unwind. After taking a moment to relax, I decided that next time, I want to bring a friend or someone special with me. I'm looking forward to coming back at night to enjoy dinner while admiring the night view.

Around 19:30 on a regular day, there was only one group waiting in line. The customers seemed to be mostly tourists, including foreigners. I ordered Kyoto genmaicha tea, which came with a pot of hot water, and it seemed like you could stay for a while. However, the inside of the shop was quite noisy, so I left as soon as I finished eating. Both the tea and the cake were delicious.

My friend suggested we have lunch together at this place, taking into consideration my love for parfaits. The limited quantity lunch here had small side dishes that I love (I call them "little bits"), the portion was just right, and the dessert was perfect for a parfait lover like me. During lunch, we didn't even need to talk because the variety of small dishes provided a fun change in colors and textures. The parfait I had was the limited edition "Japanese tea and sweet potato brulee parfait." To be honest, I was a bit worried that it might be too heavy with just sweet potato, but the Japanese tea jelly added a refreshing touch. I was also surprised by the ginger, which brought a spicy kick that completely changed the flavor experience. The apple added a nice contrast between richness and freshness. It felt like all the supporting actors were enhancing the main character, the sweet potato. I found a great piece of art here. It feels like a story is waiting to be told.

I was really relieved to step into a cool and refreshing atmosphere after the scorching hot streets of Shibuya. The large windows offer a panoramic view of Shibuya and Shinjuku, which is quite invigorating. The menu offers tea sets with a choice of tea leaves and origin, which is a nice touch. With warm tea and shaved ice set, there's no need to worry about upsetting your stomach. Both the shaved ice and matcha jelly were delicious. Although I only used the cafe this time, they also have meal options available, so I definitely want to come back again.

I visited Kagurazaka Saryo in Shibuya because I wanted to relax. I had been curious about it for a while. I waited in line for about 20 minutes, so I recommend going early if you don't want to wait. The sweetness was just right, and I could enjoy the view of Shibuya. It has become my favorite cafe.

The window seat is the best. The view is amazing. The food was delicious, and I wanted to eat more. The shaved ice was plentiful and fantastic. I saw what the person in front of me left behind and I understood why. But it was delicious, so you should eat it!

The view from the top floor was great and the shop was clean. The shaved ice had a generous portion with plenty of strawberry sauce, making it a bit challenging to eat without spilling. The udon was delicious with a clear broth. I would like to try the matcha parfait next time.

A Japanese cafe located on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square. In the summer, their parfaits and shaved ice are popular. Their traditional Japanese set meals are also wonderful and delicious. The view overlooking Shibuya Crossing, Yoyogi National Stadium, and the skyscrapers of Nishi-Shinjuku in the distance is fantastic. I imagine the night view must be beautiful. It's a perfect spot for a date.

I had my first shaved ice of the year at Shibuya Scramble Square. It's a great place to visit in the summer because it's easy to get around and not too crowded. I had the strawberry shaved ice with condensed milk whip, pistachios, and dried strawberries. The condensed milk whip was incredibly light and delicious. However, it cost 1,650 yen for one serving. It's a bit pricey, but that's how it is for luxury items. I was shocked by the recent rise in prices. Even eggs cost almost 300 yen now. I'm broke, I'm broke, no money, no money!! Anyway, the view from the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square was amazing. It was a cloudy day, but it was not crowded around 10 am when it just opened. Kagurazaka Saryo Shibuya Station directly connected. #shavedice #summerfood #Shibuyafood #Shibuyalunch #Shibuya #Shibuyastation

I didn't have a ticket for the observation deck, so I went up as far as I could and took a break. There were many foreign tourists, so I had to wait a bit, but I got a seat with a great view. The matcha cheese drink was delicious. The matcha jelly had different variations, with a light and rich flavor. The tea was average. You could also have a meal, and many young women and foreign tourists were taking stylish photos.

I visited the restaurant on a regular night. There were many foreign tourists in Shibuya, so there was a bit of a wait. This place is known for their parfaits, but they also have a good variety of rice dishes. I was very hungry, so I ordered a soup with soy milk and pork. When it was brought to my table, I was honestly a bit surprised. The soup had some chunks floating in it, not sure if it was pork fat or if the soy milk had separated... I felt like they could have made it look more presentable. The taste was nothing special, but it was delicious. The set came with red rice, which was a nice surprise. Overall, I think it's a great place to enjoy sweets and the location.

I was looking for a place that serves parfait until late at night and found one. I visited after 8 pm and there were about 5-6 groups waiting in line. However, the line moved quickly and I was able to get in sooner than I expected. Parfait is only available as a set with tea. The tea arrived first, followed quickly by the parfait. The parfait had a perfect level of sweetness and a crispy texture, which made it enjoyable to eat without getting tired of the taste or texture. The tea is served in a pot, which is appreciated, but it can be quite filling (lol). I am satisfied with my experience!

Before watching a musical at Theater Orb, I had lunch. Although the window seats were full, I arrived a bit early and chose a table seat in a relatively spacious restaurant. The menu didn't have any major changes, but I enjoyed the well-balanced obanzai set meal with a variety of dishes. I used a coupon from Scramble Square to get a mini dessert added to my meal.

I visited a cafe upon the request of my foreign friend. They had a wide variety of Japanese teas, including ones from Shizuoka, Kyoto, and Kagoshima prefectures, with about 4-5 types each. I chose Kagoshima hojicha and a parfait, and I was very satisfied with the taste! However, when it's crowded, the line is divided between inside the shop and outside with chairs, which can be confusing. This time, despite the sign saying "staff will guide you," no one directed us from the outside line. Also, during busy times, there's a 1.5-hour time limit, but our parfait order was forgotten and arrived 30 minutes late, which made us rush to finish it... It was a disappointing experience in terms of service. The taste is really delicious, so I'd like to visit again when it's not busy. Thank you for the meal!

My friend from Australia visited, so we decided to enjoy and savor the "real Japan" by going to a shop where we could drink matcha. We had a matcha ice cream and a chestnut Mont Blanc, and enjoyed matcha for the first time in a year. My friend mentioned that matcha sold overseas lacks depth and has a weak flavor, but Japanese matcha has a rich and delicious taste. The best seating option at the shop is by the window, but once you're seated, you can't move around, so it's left to chance. The taste is top-notch and the cost performance is good. Overall, I give it 5 stars again.

Visited in March 2023. After having a meal at Karl van TOKYO, I felt like having tea and sweets, so I visited this shop in the same building. The interior has table seats and counter seats facing the window, where you can enjoy the night view. I was aiming for a parfait, but the matcha tart looked delicious, so I had it with tea as a set. Matcha Tart 950 yen, Tea set +200 yen. You can choose from green tea, hojicha, and Japanese black tea from various regions in the country. After much deliberation, I chose Gyokuro from Kyoto. The rich matcha tart was quite delicious! The tea was a self-serve type, so I could pour it at my own pace, which was nice. This time I used it as a cafe, but the rice and menu are also attractive. It's in a price range where you can casually enter, and although it seems to be always crowded, it seems convenient to remember when you want to have a light meal or tea in Shibuya.

This week, I've been completely obsessed with Japanese tea for some reason, even though I haven't actually had a single drop of it. Just read through this random rambling and ignore it, haha. I'm not really obsessed with Japanese tea, but I really want to be. When you naturally become engrossed in something and lose yourself in it, that's when you're truly obsessed. I've had that experience many times. A few years ago, I wanted to get into JAZZ and I did, but at that time, I didn't actually listen to JAZZ at all. I just overloaded my brain with knowledge by reading a ton of stuff about it. If I didn't start listening to JAZZ soon, I felt like I might go crazy. I immersed myself in JAZZ as a super absorbent sponge. This unnatural play was incredibly fun. I only read articles written by others and looked at photos taken by others, without any actual experience. I brought myself to a state where I could pretend to know everything about it, even though I didn't know anything at all. I haven't had a single drop of it, haha. So, finally, today on Friday, I decided to have my first sip. Of course, I've had sencha before, but this was my first conscious experience. 12 Kinds of Obanzai Set Meal - 1540 yen. This was taken by a drone. I think it's a pretty reasonable price and content for what you get. The rice cooked with hojicha and red beans was surprisingly good. Even though the content was like this, the hot items were served hot. The view was really nice too. Even though it was my first time here, I think this place is pretty good, right? Shizuoka KANEJO Sencha Wakaba Tsumi - 770 yen. Finally, a single drop of Japanese tea flowed into my sponge-like body. Once I start something like this, I can be quite persistent, so please bear with me.

I visited after going to the Shibuya Sky observatory at Scramble Square. It is located on the 14th floor, same as the entrance gate to Shibuya Sky. I arrived around 12:30 on a weekday and there was no line. I was seated right away at a window-side counter. I ordered the "Obanzai Gozen" with 12 types of side dishes, and my friend ordered the "Salmon Dashi Chazuke." The side dishes were delicious as usual, but the rice was not tasty... it was dry and disappointing, like leftover rice from yesterday. However, the view was nice and the bright atmosphere of the restaurant made the meal satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square, the restaurant has a casual atmosphere with counter and table seating. With its high location, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Shibuya from the large windows. I tried the Japanese chestnut and matcha Mont Blanc tart with a Japanese tea set for 1200 yen. I chose the young leaf-picked green tea from Shizuoka for the tea. The tart was crispy like a cookie, with sponge cake inside. It had matcha custard cream surrounded by steamed chestnut cream. The matcha custard had red beans in it. The combination of matcha's bitterness and the comforting taste of chestnut was addictive. The tea was also delicious, making it a relaxing experience.
