I visited the restaurant around lunchtime. I had the recommended course for 4,510 yen, which came with appetizers and soup. It took about 35 minutes for the eel to be grilled, so it's good to come with some extra time. When it arrived, it had a delicious aroma. The eel was plump and the first bite was amazing - fluffy and tender! The sauce was not too sweet, with a refined taste. I still think that Miyagawa's eel is the best!

I visited on the Midsummer Day of the Ox. Last year, I went to the main store in Ginza, but with this heat, I didn't have the energy to wait in line, so I chose this place with shade. Lately, we've been working hard together, so we ordered the luxurious "Hana" set. Just like the main store, the delicious eel made it a happy day. Thank you for the meal!

I chose an eel restaurant on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza. I wanted to eat eel for lunch on a hot summer day, but I didn't want to wait in line at a street shop. Luckily, I was able to enter the restaurant without waiting. I ordered the smallest size of eel bowl because I have a small appetite, and I asked for only one-third of the usual amount of rice. The liver dish is an additional charge. The eel was delicious and made me happy.

During this long weekend, it was very hot. To prevent summer fatigue, I went to Matsuya's restaurant floor to eat eel, a little earlier than the traditional eel day. I started lining up a little before 12 o'clock and was able to enter in about 20 minutes. The first round of customers started to leave, surprisingly smooth. When I placed my order, the staff told me, "We will start grilling now, so it will take about 30 minutes," but it arrived earlier than 30 minutes. *It seems that it takes even more time for the white-grilled eel. The fluffy eel with a refined sauce that is not too sweet. In the past, I used to seek eel with a stronger flavor, but now I prefer this light taste of eel. Ah, I have also grown up...! After enjoying the simple taste as it is, you can also enjoy variations by adding sansho pepper or extra sauce to the eel. The portion was just right, and I ended up feeling quite hungry by dinner time. Phew, I'm glad I didn't overeat (laughs) ***There are many other interesting restaurants on Matsuya's restaurant floor, so I will visit again!

I had an eel dish and it was excellent in terms of quality and quantity. The eel was plump and had a nice bounce to it, while the inside was soft and tender with a fresh taste and umami. The rice was also delicious, with a nice sheen and just the right amount of moisture. The difference in price is based on the amount of eel you get. Located in Ginza Matsuya, there were many foreign visitors. You can enjoy eel in a calm atmosphere at the table seats.

Second visit. I was determined to revisit right away after being moved last time! Recommended appetizers: eel rice bowl, liver soup, pickles. The eel here is fluffy and melts in your mouth like nowhere else. The umaki eel is also delicious. The only thing I wish for is that they had Nara pickles in the pickles. I look forward to the Nara pickles and enjoy eating the eel rice bowl. While other restaurants on the same floor have long lines, there is no wait here. Why is that, even though it's so delicious? I'm happy about it. I will definitely go again ^_^

I called Matsuya Ginza's 8th floor and was told that reservations were not possible, but I was able to easily enter at 6:30 pm on a weekday. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm, with a slightly older age group. However, it felt like a place where you could come alone. The staff were calm and had a very nice sense of hospitality. I ordered a set that included recommended dishes, appetizers, and soup. The eel was of the "hana" rank and was tender and melting in the mouth! I usually go to the main branch, but I will definitely visit this branch again! Thank you for the meal.

Visited the department store a little after 2 pm. It's great that they don't close in the middle of the day, very convenient. It was surprisingly empty, maybe because it was past lunchtime. Lucky me. Many people dining alone. Ordered a limited-time set menu. The grilled eel takes 30 minutes, so I added an eel roll to pass the time. First, the set's side dishes arrived. Lotus root and turnip with plum dressing, and clams steamed in sake, both served cold. Both were well-prepared and delicious! But they were a bit smaller than the ones in the menu photos, so I was a little disappointed. Next, the eel roll. The egg was a bit firm, but it was generously filled both vertically and horizontally. After a while, the main dish of grilled eel arrived! It only took about 20 minutes, not the full 30. It was incredibly fluffy and tender! And so melt-in-your-mouth! The eel was so tender and delicious. The sauce was the perfect balance of sweetness and smoothness. The pickles and soup were also well done. The friendly service from the lady staff added to the experience. Thank you for the meal!

At the end of the year, feeling tired, I wanted to eat eel, but there was a long line. The line has been there since the beginning of December. It seems that Japanese people really love eel. Suddenly, I had an idea - maybe I can go there! So I went to Miyagawa at Matsuya Ginza's restaurant street. I peeked in hesitantly and found that there were seats available. However, by the time I sat down and placed my order, it was full. The first people who were seated seemed to be elderly customers who had come to Matsuya for shopping, and later on, a group of office workers from the neighborhood arrived. Everyone was Japanese, thinking the same thing, I chuckled to myself. I like my eel with a little sauce and plenty of sansho pepper. Come to think of it, when I was young, I used to find the appearance of eel scary and didn't like it, but I loved the sweet and savory sauce and would finish the eel first before enjoying the sauce with rice. (Being the eldest daughter, I couldn't leave any food uneaten.) Eel seems to have gotten smaller, but I enjoyed it while admiring it. And as expected, the service at established restaurants or department store eateries, especially from the slightly older staff, is wonderful. Even during lunch, they are considerate enough to offer a refill of tea. I often find myself with an empty glass waiting for a refill, so the attentive waitress who kept coming to pour more water despite the place being full truly impressed me.

For lunch on August 7th, I went to Miyagawa Honten Ginza Matsuya store on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza main store. I was seated at a table towards the left back of the restaurant. When the menu was brought to me, I was informed that the grilled eel would take 35 minutes to cook, so I ordered some appetizers and decided to wait patiently. Clam ginger simmered dish for 500 yen - It had a strong ginger flavor that made it hard to stop eating. Eel vinegar dish for 500 yen - It had a different seasoning from the usual eel dish, refreshing yet allowing you to fully enjoy the eel. After finishing the appetizers and waiting a bit, the main dish finally arrived. Eel rice bowl (large size) for 4,840 yen - Whether you choose "moon," "snow," "flower," or "large," you will get one eel, with each eel varying in size by about 20 grams. I ordered the largest one. The eel was plump, with a crispy skin and a sophisticated finish. There were three types of pickles on the side. Eel liver for 440 yen - It had a generous portion of liver, which was satisfying. I added a bit more sauce from the table to enhance the eel with a refreshing touch of sansho pepper. Everything was delicious, and I left the restaurant feeling satisfied.

Miyagawa Honke is a long-established eel restaurant founded in 1893 (Meiji 26). The main store is located in Tsukiji, and the Ginza Matsuya store is a branch. There are many shops that have branched out from "Tsukiji Miyagawa Honke." Shortly after the war, the "Tsukiji Miyagawa Noren-kai" was established to pursue the taste of eel that matches the Miyagawa name. I had eel for the first time in a while and was very satisfied. You can fully enjoy the light and fluffy eel in the Kanto style. I love eel, so this made me even happier. The prices are reasonable, so I can't have it often, but I want to eat it again, I want to eat more, and I want to visit the main store as well.

When it comes to eel, there are various types such as Kanto, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka's Yanagawa, and so on. Each region has its own unique cooking methods, offering the charm of eel from different perspectives. Among them, I visited one of the top restaurants in Kanto, Edo, "Miyagawa Honke". I ordered an eel rice bowl, eel roll, beer with snacks, and added some sake. The eel rice bowl takes about 30-40 minutes to prepare, so I enjoyed the eel roll and snacks with beer while waiting. I drank a whole beer quickly because I was thirsty, so I added an order for sake. Sake pairs perfectly with the eel roll. It's dangerous, I might get drunk before the eel rice bowl arrives. I sipped on the sake slowly, and then the eel rice bowl arrived. I felt excited when opening the lid of the eel rice bowl. And there it was, the glossy eel appeared. It looked amazing. I couldn't wait any longer, so I started eating. The fluffy texture of the eel was excellent! The grilling was done perfectly. The sauce was not overpowering at all, serving as a supporting role to enhance the deliciousness of the eel. The light sauce balances the eel and rice harmoniously. It was incredibly delicious. It was so good that I felt like I could eat three eel rice bowls. Of course, I finished it in no time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went to this restaurant with my husband for New Year's. We had una-don with snow crab, which cost around 3700 yen. My husband had the crab sucking, while I had the red miso soup. I didn't realize that the red miso soup was more expensive. This place offers a menu called "Gessetsuka" instead of the usual "Setsugekka". It doesn't really matter though. It had been about a year since I last had una-don. I used to meet my late father here occasionally in Ginza. It never changes here. The restaurant is always moderately busy and cozy. We waited about 30 minutes for our una-don. The eel had a fine texture with a light and not too sweet sauce. The rice was firm and had a clean taste. The only downside was that the pickled cucumber wasn't of the highest quality. It's rare, but this time we drove to Ginza. The multi-story parking lot behind Matsuya offers 2 hours of free parking with purchases over 5000 yen.

I didn't have high expectations since it was located on the restaurant floor of a department store, but it was delicious! Whenever I go to eat eel, I always feel like there's too much rice, so I asked for a smaller portion. The amount of rice was just right, as thin as the eel. So, the rice portion seems to be normal. Haha, if I ever have trouble finding eel in Ginza, I might go back there.

A store inside Ginza Matsuya. I entered one hour before closing time and there weren't many customers. They said it would take 35 minutes to prepare the order. They were working efficiently and cooking properly. I enjoyed waiting. The fluffy and tender eel arrived. There were a few small bones, but the taste was delicious.

I wanted a good wine, so I went to Matsuya Ginza. I went for eel for lunch. The recommended set meal included appetizers, liver sashimi, pickles, and grilled eel (snow) for 4,200 yen. It may be good for those who like fluffy eel, but may not be satisfying for those who prefer thick eel with more chewiness. Personally, I liked the clear taste of the liver sashimi and the elegant cucumber in the appetizers. Located on the 8th floor restaurant street of Matsuya Ginza, Tsukiji Miyagawa Honke is a great choice after shopping at Matsuya Ginza. Around 4 pm, I decided to check out the 8th floor restaurant street. Despite the time being in between meals, there were still some restaurants with lines, but Tsukiji Miyagawa Honke had no wait. The restaurant had 6 tables for 4 people and 4 tables for 2 people. There were about 3 groups of customers already seated. They offer four types of eel dishes: Tsuki for 3,132 yen, Yuki for 3,672 yen, Hana for 4,212 yen, and Chuo for 4,752 yen. I ordered Tsuki and Hana. The eel is steamed after ordering, so it takes about 30 minutes. I enjoyed a beer (756 yen) while waiting. The eel was tender and easy to eat with chopsticks. It had a light, fragrant taste. The sauce was elegant with a balanced flavor, which I liked.

The smooth feeling when holding the box reveals the high-quality lacquer finish. It's completely different from store-bought boxes. Just this alone makes the visit worthwhile.
