Located a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku Station's southeast exit in Tokyo, there is a stone house where you can enjoy yakisoba and fried dumplings for 1000 yen. This Chinese restaurant, situated in a half-basement of a mixed building along the Koshu Kaido, is famous for its yakisoba that is similar to fried udon. I arrived around 1:30 pm and the restaurant was about 80% full, with all customers watching horse racing on the TV inside. It is worth noting that this restaurant is close to Wins Shinjuku, and they offer a special horse racing set on weekends. The yakisoba arrived 5 minutes after ordering, with noodles that are almost like udon and break easily when lifted. Despite the affordable price, the dish contains plenty of pork and has a delicious flavor from the soy sauce and oyster sauce. The gyoza that arrived later had filling bursting out from the seams, but the balance of flavors was excellent and it was also tasty. Another satisfying meal today, thank you!

Located a 3-minute walk from the southeast exit of Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, the Stone House offers today's Lunch A for 850 yen. This Chinese restaurant, situated in a semi-basement of a mixed building along the Koshu Kaido, is famous for its yakisoba. I arrived just before 1:30 pm and the restaurant was about 80% full. Even after me, customers continued to come in one after another. I had planned to order the yakisoba, but I was intrigued by the beef loin yakitori on today's lunch menu, so I decided to go with that. The dish arrived in less than 10 minutes, consisting of beef loin and onions stir-fried in a sauce similar to yakitori sauce. At first glance, it seemed unimpressive, but there were 6 decently sized pieces of beef loin, providing a surprisingly satisfying amount of food. It was a delicious meal!

Today's lunch was at Ishinoya in Shinjuku. Lately, many restaurants have been crowded, but this place seems to have a higher ratio of male customers and is relatively easy to get into. I ordered the daily special lunch set (850 yen) with ginger pork. The cabbage here is thick and has a good texture, surprisingly delicious. The ginger pork has a slightly Chinese flavor to it and tastes great. The prices are reasonable, the food is satisfying, and it's a good place to eat. It was delicious!

A drinkable Chinese restaurant near Shinjuku Southeast Exit, close to a building. This kind of cheap and delicious Chinese food is what I like! The owner may look a bit intimidating, but he is kind. It's a lively and smoking-permitted place, so I would choose my companions carefully, but I would like to revisit with someone who doesn't mind. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I went to Ishinoya for the second party after a long time. The yakisoba was cut into small pieces, but it was still delicious as always, and the liver and leek stir-fry and gyoza were also consistently delicious. It's a restaurant with a lot of different dishes to try, but I enjoyed my personal favorite dishes. My juniors also enjoyed it. Let's go again.

A long-awaited visit. Three glasses of draft beer. Yakisoba, gyoza, beef with green onions, and beef intestines. It's Tuesday night, but it feels like a Friday night. A downtown Chinese restaurant where you can relax and enjoy yourself, but still feel ready to tackle the day ahead. The alcohol warms you up, but being surrounded by the lively atmosphere is oddly comforting. This is a space that shines even on ordinary days. We chat about trivial things and before you know it, you're full and ready to head home. The yakisoba and gyoza here are delicious and unique. It's not the type of taste that everyone raves about, but that's what makes it special. I have found my favorite downtown Chinese restaurant, and that makes me happy.

Near "Shinshuya" along the Koshu Kaido, in a building on the semi-basement floor. Arrived around 3 p.m., the female shop assistant at the store said, "I'll be taking a break from 3:30 p.m...". I mentioned that I only wanted to have a meal, and got the okay from the old man at the shop. "Ishi no Ie" is more of a casual izakaya than a Chinese restaurant. It was featured on the BS-TBS show "Let's Drink at Town Chinese Restaurants". I didn't see any posters inside the store.
Stamina stir-fry daily lunch for 850 yen. Rice and soup are free for one refill. Almond jelly needs to be ordered separately. Lots of green onions!! Delicious Chinese soup with a dashi flavor. The rice was fluffy and delicious. The main dish was the Stamina stir-fry. Lots of bell peppers, onions, carrots, and juicy pork. The soy sauce-based flavor with garlic, ginger, and pepper was strong... but also slightly sweet and gentle. The cabbage side dish came with Thousand Island dressing. It's the little things that make you happy, right? Almond jelly in a cold jelly-like form in a small dish. It had quite a bit of mandarin oranges in it, which was refreshing. The Stamina stir-fry was a bit different from what I expected, but it was still delicious.

There is a Chinese restaurant near the southeast exit of Shinjuku Station that I had passed by many times without noticing. This time, I happened to see it and decided to have lunch there. I ordered the daily lunch special, which was sweet and sour pork cutlet with sauce. It came with miso soup and pickles. If you ask, they will give you a free almond jelly dessert. The portion of rice was quite generous, like a large serving at other restaurants. Overall, the lunch set was satisfying in terms of both quantity and taste.

First visit. Located 3-4 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station. Visited around 1pm on Sunday, with the restaurant being 90% full. The surprising part was that it felt like a different world inside. Tables were packed closely together, with a large TV screen. On weekends, they show horse racing on the big screen, so most customers were horse racing fans enjoying drinks and food while reading newspapers. It seems like the atmosphere is different on weekdays, so I was surprised by the timing of my visit. Ordered the Shredded Beef with Green Peppers for 900 yen. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The portion was generous. The rice was a bit soft, which was a bit disappointing. However, the Shredded Beef with Green Peppers was delicious, with crunchy green peppers and flavorful seasoning. The dish had plenty of meat and bamboo shoots. It came with pickled cucumbers and soup. The soup tasted like ramen broth, probably containing artificial seasoning and a bit salty, but still delicious. I'd like to try the Mapo Tofu next time. I want to come back on a weekday. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I really wanted to have liver with leeks or liver with garlic chives stir-fry, so I came here. As usual, it's crowded and almost always full. The dishes here are not particularly unique or have a special flavor, but the taste balance is exquisite and very delicious.

Located close to the southeast exit of Shinjuku Station, "Ishinoya" is a renowned restaurant established in 1954 by the current third-generation owner. The order was yakisoba (thick noodles, soy sauce flavor) for 550 yen, among other items. The meal was enjoyed on April 28, 2023. The restaurant is well-loved by horse racing fans, as evidenced by the weekend-only horse racing set on the menu. It is also popular among regular patrons. The restaurant's founder had connections to a stone building materials store, which is reflected in the exterior design of the restaurant. Starting with bottled beer, the yakisoba (thick noodles, soy sauce flavor) was a satisfying dish reminiscent of yakisoba.

Lunch on April 13, 2023 (Thursday). I had work in the morning in Nakayama and work in the afternoon in Tokyo, so I had lunch in Shinjuku where I changed trains. I decided to try a long-established Chinese set meal restaurant. It was founded in 1954. It is located near the southeast ticket gate of JR Shinjuku Station, on the north side of the Koshu Kaido overpass, where places like Nagano-ya and Kaishin are located. It's also close to the off-track betting site (WINS), so many horse racing fans visit. The restaurant is located in the basement of the building. The restaurant was about 80% full at 1:02 PM. I ordered the popular Mousouro set meal (950 yen). On the menu, the stir-fried dish is listed as "Moussouro" (900 yen). The Moussouro arrived shortly after. It contained eggs, pork, wood ear mushrooms, onions, and cabbage. The stir-fry was well done, with a rich flavor but not overly salty, and quite delicious. I would like to come back and try more dishes at this restaurant.

I decided to visit Ishinoya after a long time and was planning to have ramen, but they were serving Oyakodon for lunch today, so I changed my mind. The freshly made Oyakodon was served hot and delicious, with a rich flavor that increased my appetite. Those who came later enjoyed a variety of dishes like yakisoba and fried rice. I might try the fried rice next time. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was at Ishi no Ie. It's a popular spot among nearby office workers, always busy but no long lines. I ordered the daily lunch special, pork miso grilled meat. The food came out quickly, probably because I arrived right after the previous customer. The flavor was a bit strong but the rice was so good that I couldn't stop eating. The pork miso grilled meat was delicious, with tasty onions and a generous amount of dressing. The miso soup was also flavorful. The regular portion of rice disappeared in no time. It was delicious!

The restaurant has been in business since 1954, serving traditional town Chinese cuisine. Their specialty is the hearty Mousse-ro set meal, with flavorful rice and a generous portion of ingredients. The atmosphere is lively, especially on Sundays when horse racing fans gather nearby. The service is quick, with the food served in just 12 minutes. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Wins Shinjuku off-track betting site. It is a beloved local spot, run by the third generation of the family. The owner, Ms. Kanai, is friendly and often chats with regular customers. A great place for a satisfying meal and a friendly atmosphere.

This Chinese restaurant in a half-basement of a mixed building along the Koshu Kaido is famous for its yakisoba that is similar to grilled udon. Today, I had to stay in the office until the evening dealing with the transfer of apps due to changing my smartphone model, so I decided to have dinner nearby at this place. I also had lunch out today, but I couldn't take any photos as my phone was left at the DoCoMo shop for data transfer. The yakisoba arrived 5 minutes after ordering, and the noodles are almost like udon, breaking easily when lifted. It contains pork and has a delicious flavor with a combination of soy sauce and oyster sauce, which I love. The gyoza that came later had the filling sticking out from the seams, giving it a rough appearance, but it was also delicious with a strong meaty taste. It was tasty once again today, thank you for the meal!

For my last day of work lunch, I chose Ishi no Ie. When I want a hearty, rich meal, this is where I go. My top three dishes are the mousse roe, yakisoba, and mapo katsu. On this day, I had the stamina lunch special. I added a bit of the spicy miso provided for a change in flavor, making it even richer (lol). The rice went down smoothly. Ah, a completely satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal.

I want to eat shredded pork with green peppers! It's Saturday at 10 o'clock. There are no Chinese restaurants open nearby at all. But I definitely want to eat it! Then I remembered this place. I'm pretty sure they're open late... There's a signboard in front of the shop. They're still open, thank goodness! The neon sign at the entrance is cute. By the way, they're open until midnight. When I went in, it was super crowded! Everyone is in a group. I'm alone. All the staff are Chinese. This looks promising!! The female server is handling everything by herself. She's so busy, never a moment's rest. The popularity was known, but this is beyond expectation. I feel bad for wandering in as a solo customer... Shredded pork with green peppers comes in two types (pork) and (beef). I usually prefer beef over anything, but for shredded pork with green peppers, it's definitely pork! Please! And now it's time to dig in. Shredded pork with green peppers (pork) in a large portion! Pork, green peppers, bamboo shoots - the simple shredded pork with green peppers. Rich flavor with oyster sauce and crunchy bamboo shoots. Delicious! Just the right amount of oiliness. A taste I like. The pork is unusually not coated with starch, just naked meat. Hmm, it's a bit tough and chewy (>_<) Maybe they were busy, or it was just one of those days. I'd like to try it again on a different day! Looking back at the menu again, the price difference between shredded pork with green peppers (pork) and (beef) is only 50 yen. That's amazing. Although I said I prefer pork, I'm still curious about the (beef)... The constant flow of customers. I feel bad for taking up a seat alone, so I finished my meal and left immediately. Next time, I want to come with someone and eat a lot!!! Definitely!!! I'm grateful to the staff for their kind and considerate service, despite being busy and hardworking. Thank you for the meal! ^_^

I went straight to the client in Sagamihara. When I returned to Shinjuku, which has been busy lately, I remembered the story about Naruhodo-kun that I mentioned the other day. They said that the thick noodle yakisoba and fried rice at "Ishi no Ie" in the east exit are delicious! It seems that the father of Naruhodo-kun's high school friend runs the place, and it has been a favorite spot since their younger days. When you go down the escalator from Lumine in Shinjuku South Exit, there is an old set meal restaurant called Nagano-ya, one block behind that. It's before Tatsuya-san's place. There are also good restaurants around here with signs out. Today's daily special is ginger pork. Hmm... ginger pork for lunch sounds good too. The restaurant is located slightly underground, and the back area is quite spacious. Since it's Saturday, they are broadcasting horse racing on TV, so I wonder if it's connected to the JRA across the street? There's a bald guy over there, pretty intense... looks like the president of Gyoza no Ohsho. I ordered the "thick noodle yakisoba and sauce fried rice" combo. It's like eating fried rice as a side dish to the yakisoba (laughs). When I arrived, there were only two groups at 11:30, but by the time the orders arrived, it was full. Many horse racing fans here... (laughs). Wow! The thick noodle yakisoba and fried rice have arrived! 550 yen for yakisoba + 650 yen for fried rice. It's a huge portion... can I finish it all? They really give you a lot here! Naruhodo-kun recommended the regular fried rice, but I decided to try the sauce mixed fried rice, which is quite rare... it has a dark color with green peppers, ham, narutomaki, onions, and eggs. Looks delicious! Well then... let's dig in ♡ The thick noodle yakisoba is relatively light, but the sauce mixed fried rice is rich... but I finished it quickly. The gyoza was also good! Next time, I'll try the regular thick noodle yakisoba, mixed fried rice, and gyoza! The soup from the fried rice was also tasty! I have a blog. Check it out at cocomokachin's blog "Eating with a Margeurite" on Ameblo.
