It was raining heavily, so I stayed home all day. But I really wanted to eat sushi! I finally got to go to Sushi Saka near my house, and I'm glad I did. Both the Chirashi sushi and Nigiri sushi were delicious. The fatty tuna was so good. Edo-style sushi is the best.

I stopped by on my way back from a scheduled appointment. The menu is extensive and I had a hard time deciding. I had sushi and sashimi. It was delicious. The rice and the fish were just right and very tasty. #sushi #sashimi #delicious #dinner #Asakusabashi #food #foodstagram #delicious #delistagrammer #tasty

Asakusa Sushi Ei was also known for having a high hurdle to receive training and a letter of introduction, but in the next generation, the name Sushi Ei can be used. It seems that Asakusa Sushi Ei is now run by a former disciple after the owner passed away, and the same may be true for Asakusabashi Sushi Ei. I remember that this restaurant was one of the first to start a blog (or website) in the late 90s (or early 2000s), but I might be mistaken. I ordered the Plum Nigiri (1500 yen). The sushi is served without soy sauce, so you can add it yourself. First, 4 pieces of tuna and squid are served, followed by salmon, shrimp, and egg. Then, there was a cucumber roll and miso soup. The nigiri was slightly larger than usual for Sushi Ei. The vinegar rice was similar to what I had often eaten in Asakusa. The toppings were quite ordinary. The shrimp was pre-boiled, but cooked perfectly. The miso soup was very delicious. PayPay was accepted.

Asakusabashi (Sushi Sakaes) This is my go-to place, a small old shop where the friendly owner always warmly welcomes you. There are 6 seats at the counter and about 4 seats in the booths. If you're alone, sit at the counter; if you're with others, the booths are better. Many locals, old men, and women come here, but everyone is welcomed warmly. The Edomae sushi here is well-prepared, so I recommend the premium sushi or premium chirashi. The fatty tuna is delicious too. Their chawanmushi is excellent as well. A cup of sake poured generously into a masu costs 1000 yen. That's also a good choice. Today, I had the premium chirashi for lunch since I was working. It cost 2200 yen, but it was a satisfying lunch. It's a shame I couldn't have any sake during work.

The regular gathering of junior high school classmates at Joto no Kai. Three young masters from Joto, a doctor working at Joto, myself, a former Joto employee, and for some reason another regular member. Sometimes the group grows or shrinks. This time, we went to a restaurant recommended by the teacher, Sushi Ei in Asakusabashi! The restaurant name is the same as a classmate's shop. Is there a connection? The location is near Torikoe Shrine, across from Kuramaebashi Street in Asakusabashi. I arrived first, coming straight from work, at 6:15 pm. It started raining. The sun was still out. I thought the restaurant would be empty, but to my surprise, the counter seats were almost full. There were about 6 people, so it was lively. Our group sat at a small table near the entrance, for 6 people. It was cozy. Soon, other members from the neighborhood arrived, and the party began. Unlike last time, the members not related to Joto were in high spirits this time. The conversation was lively. Perhaps it was because of the small table and the fresh and delicious sashimi. The monkfish liver was amazing. The hokke fish was also delicious. We switched from beer to wheat shochu, quickly finishing one bottle and moving on to the second. The sushi was also very good. Why is the restaurant's rating on Tabelog low? Probably because there are not many reviews posted. Don't underestimate Asakusabashi!

I will enjoy plenty of my favorite dishes. My son complains, "I wish I could drink since I'm not driving!"

Located just across the street from Torikoshi Shrine in Kuramae, this cozy little restaurant is tucked away in a side street. Upon entering through the aged wooden door, you'll find a small space with a counter seating for six and one table for four. The owner, around 40 years old, is assisted by his mother who takes care of the customers. The menu offers items like nigiri sushi, chirashi sushi, tekka-don, and toro-don. The chirashi sushi comes in different grades: plum, bamboo, pine, crane, and turtle. This time, I ordered the nigiri sushi special (2,600 yen), which included toro, sea bream, squid, sweet shrimp, sea urchin, salmon roe, tekka maki, and tamagoyaki. The toro was more towards the medium side, soft and rich. The miso soup served was made with clams. Overall, the food was decent but didn't quite have the special touch expected from a special grade. I also added two pieces of inari sushi, which had a good balance of sweet and salty flavors. The rice portion was on the smaller side, with a piece of fried tofu folded in half and sprinkled with white sesame seeds. The friendly mother served tea and miso soup, and her attentive service added to the charm of the place. Wishing her good health always.

This is a small sushi restaurant near Torikoshi Shrine. The current owner learned his skills at Ginza Sushi Sakaeda from the previous owner. The fresh and carefully prepared sushi is so delicious that you can never get tired of it. The rice, cooked by the owner's mother, is outstanding. Whether you go for lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed. You might end up eating too much and worry about the bill, but the taste is worth it. Everything on the menu is recommended, but my favorites are the sea urchin, conger eel, and assorted shellfish. I have taken food enthusiasts from Italy, Canada, Hong Kong, and Austria here, and they all loved it.

Mr. T, who has been following in his father's footsteps as a sushi chef for over 30 years, provides exceptionally fresh sushi by rigorously managing the quality of his ingredients. He is a trusted connoisseur. I visit his restaurant at least 2-3 times a year, and have been a fan since my parents' generation.
