ミッポT
Located just across the street from Torikoshi Shrine in Kuramae, this cozy little restaurant is tucked away in a side street. Upon entering through the aged wooden door, you'll find a small space with a counter seating for six and one table for four. The owner, around 40 years old, is assisted by his mother who takes care of the customers. The menu offers items like nigiri sushi, chirashi sushi, tekka-don, and toro-don. The chirashi sushi comes in different grades: plum, bamboo, pine, crane, and turtle. This time, I ordered the nigiri sushi special (2,600 yen), which included toro, sea bream, squid, sweet shrimp, sea urchin, salmon roe, tekka maki, and tamagoyaki. The toro was more towards the medium side, soft and rich. The miso soup served was made with clams. Overall, the food was decent but didn't quite have the special touch expected from a special grade. I also added two pieces of inari sushi, which had a good balance of sweet and salty flavors. The rice portion was on the smaller side, with a piece of fried tofu folded in half and sprinkled with white sesame seeds. The friendly mother served tea and miso soup, and her attentive service added to the charm of the place. Wishing her good health always.
