I was initially inspired by a review from a person named takekoda when choosing a restaurant to visit (of course, the restaurant had a good reputation for delicious food as well). I had been wanting to try the "cold katsu don" dish, especially during the hot season. With prices starting from 2000 yen, I was waiting for the right opportunity to visit. Then, I found out that my Marunouchi points were expiring this month, so I decided to seize the chance. I arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes after it opened, but it was already more than 80% full. Many customers had reserved tables, indicating that the restaurant was very popular. I was seated at the counter and handed the menu. Considering the weather forecast of the day predicting a high of over 35 degrees Celsius, I quickly ordered the "cold katsu don, 100g of pork loin". The guests sitting next to me were enjoying a large bowl of shredded cabbage, making me wonder if the cabbage was served before the katsu dish. To my surprise, a server brought me a salad first. Wow, what a wonderful gesture! (It seemed that cabbage and rice were free refills, as the staff would offer more.) While enjoying the cabbage, I waited leisurely, and within 10 minutes, the cold katsu don was served! Coincidentally, the person next to me ordered a regular katsu don (not cold). Both dishes looked similar with grated yam on top. The cold katsu don had a cold broth poured over it, which was not as cold as cold ramen but still refreshing. It was served with pickled ginger, umeboshi, okra, and wasabi on the side. The first bite was truly amazing, with the cold and crispy katsu paired perfectly with the rice. The 100g pork loin katsu was thicker than usual and cut into smaller slices, making it easy to eat with the special spoon provided. The cold broth in the dish made it quite filling, and I finished every last drop. It was incredibly delicious and satisfying. The restaurant seemed to attract a diverse crowd, from older men to young women. While the lunch prices may start from the 2000 yen range, it is worth discussing with your wallet, but I doubt you will regret it. I haven't tried the regular katsu yet, but with such a unique and delicious dish, I am already impressed.
