"Echizen" is a tuna specialty store operated by Yoshimura Shoten at the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market in Fuchu. Despite the long lines, the friendly and kind senior female staff members will make you feel at ease. The store handles everything from production to sales, offering incredibly affordable lunch sets such as the homemade negitoro bowl (¥380 before tax) and the two-color bowl (¥500 before tax) featuring homemade negitoro and tuna chunks. The freshness of the tuna can be felt from the first bite, reflecting the quality of the wholesale market. The tuna ball soup is so delicious that many customers opt for seconds at just ¥100 including tax. The daily side dishes are also exquisite, all featuring creative tuna dishes that are simply irresistible. Next door, at Yoshimura Shoten, you'll find a chatty and friendly store owner waiting for you, offering reasonably priced tuna and a warm atmosphere. With a logo reminiscent of Eikichi Yazawa, cheerful staff, and ultra-cost-effective tuna dishes, this place will leave you feeling 120% satisfied and cheerful."

When you come to Fuchu, be sure to visit the Maguro Don specialty shop inside the Dai Tokyo Sogo Oroshiuri Center! The 3-color bowl with akami, chutoro, and negitoro is only 1100 yen including tax (plus 165 yen for extra large). The tuna, cut with each order, has a matured, soft texture that melts with the body temperature, releasing its umami. The miso soup with tuna meatballs is also incredibly delicious!

I had the opportunity to visit Echizen, a tuna bowl restaurant at the Ota Tokyo Wholesale Market, which is only open during weekday lunch hours. The owner, a very friendly lady, runs the place with a great atmosphere. I ordered the luxurious tuna bowl with all the toppings, and though there was a bit of a wait, it was delicious.

Visited this tuna bowl specialty restaurant for the second time with my family after enjoying it during my first visit at lunchtime. Located in the Dai Tokyo Comprehensive Wholesale Center next to the Suntory Beer Factory near the Tama River and Tokyo Racecourse in Fuchu City, Tokyo. Despite being slightly hidden in the market, it is always bustling with customers. The restaurant offers a variety of tuna bowls, including the limited 5 servings of premium tuna toro bowl, tuna bowl with all cuts, medium fatty tuna bowl, three-color bowl, two-color bowl, marinated tuna bowl, and bonito bowl, among others. The prices are reasonable, with options like the bonito bowl and marinated tuna bowl priced at 715 yen and 660 yen respectively. The cozy interior has table seating for 4 and 2, as well as a counter seating for 4. Orders are placed and paid for at the counter, with a number tag given to wait for your order. Today, we had the Tuna Bowl with all cuts which includes premium toro, medium toro, lean tuna, marinated tuna, and negitoro, along with two side dishes and dumpling soup. We also tried the Premium Medium Fatty Tuna Bowl with two side dishes and dumpling soup. The dumpling soup with plenty of radish was a standout, and the tuna dishes were incredibly delicious. Highly recommended for tuna lovers. Free parking is available in the spacious market parking lot. Visited on June 13, 2023, for lunch. Business hours are from 11:30 to 14:30, closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. Smoking is not allowed, no credit cards accepted, no electronic money or points cards available, no free WiFi, no power outlets at the seats. Will definitely consider returning in the future.

Negitoro bowl for 480 yen (excluding tax). This restaurant is located inside a tuna specialty store in a wholesale center, and it is known for its delicious tuna bowls. The most popular item is the 380 yen Negitoro bowl, which is a great deal. You can also try the Negitoro bowl set for 480 yen, which comes with two side dishes and tuna miso soup. The hot and flavorful soup is a must-try. The place is usually crowded, so be prepared to wait patiently as they are short-staffed. The best time to go is around opening time, as the wait time can vary. The menu has a variety of options, but the most recommended ones are the 2-color bowl for 550 yen (Negitoro and tuna), the 3-color bowl for 1000 yen (Negitoro, tuna, and marinated tuna), and the tuna bowl for 650 yen (Negitoro and marinated tuna). This restaurant used to be known for its affordable Negitoro bowls, attracting locals and market workers. However, with the rise of social media, food enthusiasts now visit to try the various options. Overall, it's a great place for a quick and affordable meal.

I have been to this restaurant many times before because the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. However, there is always a long line and wait. This time, I went during off-peak hours and indulged in the three-color bowl. The tuna, medium fatty tuna, and minced tuna were all rich in flavor and delicious. The soup with tuna balls was also tasty. Next door at Yoshimura Shoten, you can get takeout for rice bowls, but I wanted to have the soup with tuna balls, so I chose to dine in. The special size was filling, and I enjoyed my meal.

Tekkadan (iron fire) bowl for ¥770 and Nisshoku (two-color) bowl for ¥605. The rice portion in the regular size seems a bit small. It's impressive that you can eat at this price, but don't expect too much from the tuna as there are better quality options out there. The meatball soup is delicious. There was a line forming around 2-30 minutes before opening, with over 10 people by 11:30, and still over 10 people waiting when leaving. The cost performance is great, but even though I'm over 50 and not struggling financially, I would be willing to pay an extra ¥1000 for better quality tuna. So, I probably won't be a repeat customer.

The other day, I went to the ward office first thing in the morning to get my grandma's My Number reissued. It was quite a hassle, seriously. I finished by 10 am! Then, I wanted to go to Echizen-san, a tuna specialty shop. Echizen-san used to be in Sagamihara City Market, but after the market closed down, I couldn't go there anymore. It took quite some time to get there via local roads, but I arrived at Fuchu Market at 11:10 am. The parking was free, so no waiting! I quickly found the shop inside the market. There were customers lined up. Even on a weekday, there were 8 people waiting in front of the shop. I sat on a chair outside the shop and waited. They provided cold water, consomme soup, and shaved ice for the waiting customers. I had the consomme soup while waiting. The shop opened at 11:40 am! The service was extremely friendly. I ordered first, paid, and waited. Echizen-san doesn't pre-make dishes like tuna sashimi, so there was quite a wait. I ordered a Negitoro bowl set for 480 yen plus tax and a large serving of rice for 150 yen plus tax. The prices had gone up, so I wanted to order two, but settled for one. After about 30 minutes, my order was ready. The Negitoro bowl was delicious, and the tuna meatball soup had amazing broth. The meatballs had a hint of ginger and were very tasty. I finished everything. The Negitoro bowl with vinegared rice, seaweed, green onions, shiso leaves, and grated radish with soy sauce and wasabi was delicious. There was no fishy taste in the tuna, it was fresh. I finished it in 5 minutes. I wanted more of the tuna meatball soup, so I paid 150 yen for a refill. I sprinkled some shichimi spice on it and enjoyed it. It was irresistible. I finished it quickly. It was so delicious. On my way back, I visited the tuna shop and had a chat with the owner. It was great to visit Fuchu Market. I also bought some Negitoro to take home. It was delicious. I'll definitely go back. The atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious.

On my second visit, I arrived around 11:20 AM and there were about 10 people waiting in line before the store opened. This time, I decided to challenge the three-color bowl in a large serving. I thought I would be able to sit relatively easily considering the number of people waiting, but it seemed like there might be a problem. I had expected the seafood bowl and other dishes to be served smoothly since they just needed to put the toppings on without heating them, but in the end, I ended up waiting for almost an hour. I had a simple question in mind: why did it take so long? The food was delicious, but there seemed to be issues with the operation. Perhaps?

Fuchu Market is a place I often visit, and compared to other stores, it offers great value for money. I checked out other stores on my way back, but Fuchu Market was by far the cheapest. They even serve maguro soup with the meal at a low price. The maguro soup is delicious, but the maguro bowls at all the stores in the market are about the same level. I lined up before the 11:30 opening time and just made it in for the last seating of the first round. You order at the counter and then it's self-service. The meal arrived after a 50-minute wait due to a 10-minute late opening. It took an hour from lining up to getting my meal. It's a good option for those who don't mind waiting for a cheap meal. The dishes for the second round of customers were served quickly, so it might be a matter of timing.

Echizen-san is located inside Fuchu Market. It's great to be able to enjoy fresh seafood bowls so close by. I waited in line for about 20 minutes, but it was worth it. Make sure to check their days off before visiting, as they are closed on some days. I once went specifically for Echizen-san, but they were closed, which was disappointing. Luckily, it wasn't crowded on this day.

- Maguro Don (Tuna Bowl) - 660 yen (including tax) *Half portion of Maguro Zuke (marinated tuna) and Negitoro (minced tuna with green onions) at a tuna shop in the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market in Fuchu. Located in the middle of the fifth aisle from the main entrance. Across from a food shop called Fuchu Kajiya. It was a Saturday morning, not planned in advance, but there weren't many people lining up. I thought I might be able to go for a second round since it was before the opening. There were about 18 chairs in front of the store, but the wait was long... In the end, it took over an hour and a half to get inside, and another 20 to 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The interior had four single-seat counters, two tables for two, and two tables for four. The cutoff for the first round seemed to be around 12 to 13 people. The Maguro Don itself had a high concentration of tuna flavor, with a slightly sweet homemade sauce and Negitoro. The miso soup with Maguro dumplings had a strong Maguro broth flavor. The hijiki seaweed and salad side dishes had a gentle taste, with a surprising addition of mentaiko (spicy cod roe) in the mayonnaise dressing on the salad. Considering the price, this was a great deal. Everyone waits in line for this reason. However, if the timing is bad, you might end up waiting with an empty stomach, so consider getting takeout from the nearby "Yoshimura Shoten" (the same items at the same price, but without the side dishes and miso soup). While waiting in line, they also offer self-service shaved ice, and the staff, including a kind and humble motherly figure, were all very pleasant. Thank you for the delicious meal! [Additional Note] The background music was Hawaiian, and the rice was slightly vinegared and on the smaller side, so men might want to opt for a larger portion.

I want to go there every day because it's so close. The price ranges from 380 to 600 yen. You can eat for the price of one sushi. It's all self-service, seats are close together, and sharing a table is common, so you should eat quickly without talking, haha. Fuchu Market is so retro and old-fashioned. There are many other dining options and interesting products in the market. Among them, this shop with a long line is a must-visit. Of course.

This is a restaurant specializing in tuna bowls. There were about 10 people lining up before opening. The opening time today was displayed as 11:40. It seems like the owner is running the place alone and it looks tough, but the dishes are meticulously prepared. The tuna ball soup was plentiful and piping hot, and delicious. And all this for just 380 yen before tax, which is surprising. I feel like trying the other tuna bowls now.

Inside the Dai Tokyo Sogo Oroshiuri Center. Last time, due to infection control measures, only takeout was available, but this time we could eat inside the store. This time, I had a Negitoro bowl with a tuna dumpling soup. The Negitoro bowl alone is only 380 yen without tax! It seemed to take quite a while to make the Negitoro bowl after ordering. The Negitoro had a good melt-in-your-mouth texture, with just the right amount of fat and was delicious. Considering the price, it felt like a great deal! I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

Echizen @ Fuchu City, Tokyo @ Maguro-don Located in the Dai Tokyo Sogo Oroshiuri Center in Fuchu City, Tokyo, next to the Suntory Beer Factory near the Tama River and Tokyo Racecourse, is a specialty maguro-don (tuna rice bowl) shop. Despite being situated on the opposite side of the five aisles in the market, this shop is always bustling with customers. During the period of the COVID-19 state of emergency, the shop was closed, but upon its lifting, it reopened and today, even for a late lunch, the place was fully packed. However, you can also purchase your meal and eat it in the resting area of the aisle. Managed by Yoshimura Shoten, a neighboring tuna specialty store, the shop offers takeout bento boxes displayed in their showcase. The interior features simple table seating and counter seats facing the wall. Even in the late afternoon, the shop remains popular with customers coming in one after another. Various tuna-don options are available, such as the two-color bowl, three-color bowl, and negitoro bowl for takeout. These come in a two-tier container, with rice on the bottom and sashimi on top, allowing you to assemble your own maguro-don. For dining in, you can enjoy a delicious tsukune soup and two small side dishes for an additional 380 yen, making it a great deal. I had the three-color bowl priced at 756 yen, featuring high-quality akami, chutoro, and negitoro. The tuna from this specialty shop is exceptionally delicious, especially the akami. This is a great place to enjoy a tasty maguro-don and even take some to go. Highly recommended. - Maguro Donburi (with negitoro and maguro zuke) - Negitoro and Salmon Donburi This shop at the local wholesale market is well known among those in the know. Once you cross the distinctive noren curtain and place your order, you can only enjoy your meal inside the shop, so you have to secure a seat like in a game of musical chairs at your own risk. However, being able to eat this quality of maguro donburi at this price feels like a miracle. The maguro dumplings in the miso soup are also quite large and flavorful. While it's hard to resist the nearby curry shop, I always find myself coming back here.

I happened to pass by and visited a tuna bowl restaurant near the market. They offer bowls starting from 380 yen, which come with side dishes and miso soup. The two-color bowl with minced tuna and tuna chunks is a good deal at 500 yen including side dishes and miso soup. The medium fatty tuna bowl is worth the price. It's definitely a good deal. Just be prepared to wait 15 to 20 minutes for your order as they make it fresh after you order.

Today's lunch was all about tuna♫ When it comes to tuna, this place is a must-visit. However, when I got there, I found out that they were closed due to the coronavirus. Since I was already there, I decided to go to the tuna shop next door (Yoshimura Shoten) where the owner told me they will reopen on 7/6. Yoshimura Shoten is run by the husband, while the shop next door, Echizen, is run by the wife. The husband mentioned that the good tuna is taken by the wife (laughs). Since I was already there, I bought tuna at the husband's shop. Today, I had premium honmaguro akami (chunks) for 350 yen each, and Indian maguro with medium toro for 500 yen - what a bargain! I had them as hand-rolled sushi, and both types of tuna were rich and incredibly delicious✨✨ They were much cheaper than supermarket tuna, but tasted like high-end tuna. I feel like I really scored (laughs). Had lunch at Echizen, bought cheap tuna here for dinner - this might be the best!

This is a review of a restaurant located inside the Ota Wholesale Market in Fuchu. The restaurant specializes in tuna dishes and is run by Yoshimura Shoten, a tuna specialty shop. It was very popular, with a line of about 10 people waiting on a Saturday afternoon around 1 pm. After waiting for almost an hour in line, we finally got a seat. The interior of the restaurant is quite small, with a counter, two 4-person tables, and two 2-person tables. We ordered the homemade negitoro bowl (380 yen + tax), which came with two side dishes and miso soup, all for a very reasonable price. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive, as they were short-staffed. The quality of the negitoro bowl was excellent, far surpassing the negitoro you would find at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. The tuna dumpling soup that came with it was also delicious, with a generous amount of ingredients. Overall, the food was very tasty and worth the long wait.

I had some errands in Fuchu and was thinking about where to have lunch when I realized there was a restaurant I wanted to visit. This restaurant had been reviewed by Mairevi and I had bookmarked it. I arrived around 11:30 am and there were 2 people waiting outside. There were a lot of pipe chairs set up outside, so it seems like a very popular place. Next to this restaurant, there is a shop selling takeout food and sashimi and tuna collars. For those in a hurry, you can buy food here and eat it at the market's rest area. I waited in line for about 15 minutes before entering. You ring a bell to place your order, and then an older lady comes out from inside to take your payment. You pay first, receive a number tag, and then wait for a while. The restaurant has a counter and a few table seats, maybe enough for around 20 people. It was mentioned that they don't pre-make any dishes, and the lady manages everything from cooking to serving all by herself. This means that the food is served within 30 minutes of ordering. I ordered the homemade negitoro bowl for 380 yen with extra rice for 150 yen, and my wife ordered the seared tuna bowl for 500 yen. The homemade negitoro bowl was delicious with just the right amount of fat and no fishy smell. It also had vinegar rice, which was a nice touch. The tuna ball soup was a surprise - it was incredibly tasty with the concentrated flavor of tuna and vegetables. I was amazed by the quality of the side dishes as well. The maguro flakes and dried tofu simmered in tuna broth were delicious. The pickled seaweed and vegetable dish was not my favorite, but it was mild and had a hint of sweetness and sesame flavor. I also tried a bit of my wife's seared tuna bowl, and it was flavorful and delicious. The cost performance of the homemade negitoro bowl was impressive, and the quality of the tuna ball soup and side dishes was outstanding. I was truly impressed and will definitely order the extra rice next time. After finishing our meal, I complimented the lady working in the kitchen, and she came out to thank me. She was a lovely and friendly lady, and I felt very happy talking to her. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to those in a hurry as you may have to wait for at least 30 minutes. But for those who can wait, you will be rewarded with the excellent tuna ball soup and side dishes. I will definitely be back. As I left the restaurant and visited the neighboring Yoshimura Shoten, the owner mentioned how good the tuna soup was and how he prefers pork soup. This restaurant not only offers bento boxes but also sells sashimi and tuna collars. I couldn't resist and bought some tuna collars and tuna tails, which were incredibly delicious when grilled at home. Visiting this shop is a must as well.
