Visited for the first time. I had Uji matcha highball! Surprisingly, both the tea and the alcohol were strong ♡ Since it's a zero-order system, I couldn't really eat much... I had some turnips and green peppers. The green pepper with meat miso was a bit spicy. For me, at least. There are apparently three stores in this area, and they brought dishes from other stores.

I have been a regular customer at the popular yakitori restaurant Makotoya in Araki-cho for many years, and last year they opened a new branch along Car Power Gate Street near the main store. I guess they opened it because the main store is doing well. Makotoya has two stores in Araki-cho and one in Hatsudai. I ordered the limited menu item that is only available at this branch, which is the melt-in-your-mouth pork stew. I also ordered the world's best potato salad, harami, and intestine, as always. The stew was delicious, and the potato salad and harami were consistently tasty. If you want a more relaxed atmosphere to drink in, I highly recommend this branch over the main store. I was completely satisfied with the delicious food as always!

On August 31st, at 6:30 PM, I decided to have a solo drink on Carriage Gate Street, just a short walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome. As I was walking, I noticed a large red lantern. It turned out to be a grand opening happy hour event. The first drink was offered at a discounted price. I took a seat at the counter made of sturdy wood. The manager was very kind and attentive. Cheers with a highball! The complimentary appetizer was spicy miso, which made me crave some cucumbers. The handwritten recommended menu caught my eye, especially the Plum Shochu. I always end up ordering it when it's available. When I asked for recommendations, I was suggested the simmered pork cartilage, and it was incredibly delicious! The pork cartilage was so tender and melted in my mouth. I also tried the Carriage Gate Soda, a drink named after the street. It was made with Japanese gin "Midori" and soda, refreshing and paired perfectly with the rich cartilage dish. I made sure to consume a lot of collagen before heading home.
