This is a tea lounge located at the Hie Shrine in Omiya, Tokyo. You can pass through the gate where cars can go through, and on your right, there is a kindergarten. Across from that, when you enter the building in front of you, you will find the lounge. There is a sign at the entrance displaying the lounge menu. This lounge caters to events such as baby blessings, Shichi-Go-San, and weddings. It has a very calming atmosphere. You can choose your seat, place an order with the staff in black attire, and pay when your order is served. They offer a variety of drink options, including tea and coffee sets with traditional sweets like daifuku and kuzuwara mochi, which can also be purchased as souvenirs. My favorite is the tea and kuzuwara mochi here. The mochi is a firm type served with black honey and kinako, and it is not too sweet, making it easy to enjoy. The tea is of good quality, allowing you to truly relax and enjoy the flavors of the tea leaves.

This is a café located inside the Omiya Hachimangu Shrine in Suginami Ward. There is a parking lot at the shrine. It is said to be located at the center of Tokyo, known as the "navel of Tokyo", and we tried the famous "Navel Fortune Mochi" for 500 yen. My husband had the "Warabi Mochi" for 600 yen. Both came with a set of green tea, with an additional 100 yen for coffee and 200 yen for matcha. The café was quiet and nice for a break while overlooking the garden, but it was disappointing that we didn't receive water or a hand towel despite it being a café.

There is a sign at the entrance displaying the lounge menu. The lounge caters to events such as baby blessings, Shichi-Go-San (a traditional rite of passage in Japan), and weddings, creating a very calm atmosphere. The lounge offers a variety of drink options, including tea, coffee, and sets with traditional sweets like daifuku and kuzumochi. My favorite is the tea with kuzumochi, which is a firm type of sweet rice cake served with black honey and kinako (soybean flour). It has a mild sweetness and is easy to eat. The tea is of good quality, allowing you to appreciate the natural sweetness of the tea leaves and creating a relaxing and soothing experience.

I always feel relaxed sitting by the window where I can see the inner courtyard. It's like my mind is being refreshed and soothed. This time, I ordered warabi mochi and green tea. The tea was delicious, and the warabi mochi was not too sweet, which I liked. The TV was playing a recorded special feature, and I appreciate being able to review it.

I visited on a rainy Saturday morning. The spacious waiting room felt like a wedding reception area, with comfortable seating for four. It was quiet when I arrived early, and a polite waiter quickly showed me to my seat. I ordered the set of "heso fukumochi" and green tea for 500 yen. There was also a set with "kuzwarabi" and matcha or coffee available. After about 5 minutes, the tray was brought to me. I paid upfront and leisurely enjoyed my meal. The green tea was rich and satisfying, almost like a finishing touch. The "heso fukumochi" was the size of an OK sign made with your fingers - just right. It came individually wrapped, which is convenient in these times. The treat was decorated with black beans in the center and covered in plenty of sesame seeds. The slightly chewy outer layer contained red bean paste with a bit of texture, and the sesame added a crunchy, nutty flavor. It was sweet enough and paired perfectly with the tea. The taste was great, and it seemed like a good luck charm. It would make a nice souvenir as well (they also sell a box of 5 for 1400 yen). I had a relaxing and enjoyable time. Thank you for the meal.

I turned from the entrance of Eifuku Library onto Minami-dori and entered Omiya Hachimangu Shrine. There are over 1,000 azalea plants planted along the approach to Omiya Hachimangu Shrine, but unfortunately only a few flowers were blooming under the shade of a large tree. To the north of Omiya Hachimangu Shrine, there are vast parks such as Wadabori Park and Zenpukuji River Green Area on both sides of Zenpukuji River. This shrine received a spirit from Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Kyoto and is considered one of the three major shrines in Musashi Province. It is now regarded as a sacred place known as the "navel of Tokyo." Inside the shrine grounds, there is a wedding venue called Seirouden. I took a break there and decided to indulge in a "navel" treat - Navel Fortune Rice Cake and matcha for 400 yen. Through the window, I could see the Bodhi tree that is said to have been planted by the founder of the temple, providing a peaceful moment.
