The best cost-performance restaurant with set meals. The lunch set meals offer a variety of meat dishes for only 1,000 yen with change. In addition to ginger pork and stamina dishes, they also have spaghetti, so you won't get tired of going there every day. The butter chicken curry is a must-try.

During the Bon festival, I had to work and was unsure of what to have for dinner. As I wandered around, I stumbled upon a nice-looking restaurant with affordable set meals displayed outside. I couldn't decide what to eat, so I went with the "ginger pork set meal" recommended on the sign. The dish arrived in about 5 minutes, with plenty of meat and a good amount of ginger on top. The flavor was not like pre-made dishes and tasted delicious. I also had a side salad with dressing from a bottle on the table. When I tried the dressing, it turned out to be very spicy, which surprised me. I asked the staff and found out it was chili sauce, not dressing. The price was cheap for Tokyo, and the menu was extensive, offering a variety of options to enjoy. The staff, who appeared to be from a different country, were well-dressed and provided excellent service, leaving me with a good impression.

I thought it was a good restaurant on my third visit. The Stamina set meal includes ginger pork with stir-fried garlic stems and a raw egg on top. When I upgraded to the jumbo size, the portion was really big, probably double the size of a regular ginger pork set meal. The taste was also good. I noticed that the baked curry dishes around me looked delicious too. A high school student next to me was happily eating a voluminous omelette rice, which was not bad, but I felt it lacked the fluffy texture of the egg. The kitchen staff is different every time, so as I get used to it, the food might gradually become more delicious.

Napolitan Jumbo for 930 yen. The noodles weigh 600g, but it feels more voluminous compared to other Napolitan specialty stores. It includes onions, green peppers, and diced bacon, aiming to replicate the Showa-era Napolitan, but the downside is that the noodles are thin. Instead of the typical thick noodles with a chewy texture, the thin noodles do not fully coat the ketchup, making it a bit soggy. Overall, it is quite filling, so I would rate it 0.2 higher.

I passed by this restaurant and the menu photos and samples looked so delicious that I had high expectations for this old-fashioned diner specializing in B-grade gourmet food. The staff, two Chinese-looking men and women, seemed to have limited Japanese language skills. The small restaurant only had 10-12 counter seats. The toilet door was left wide open, perhaps for ventilation. I thought they could pay more attention to hygiene, such as the counter area. The omurice lacked volume and the egg wasn't fluffy. The dry curry inside was more like fried rice. This visit didn't make me want to come back, but I will consider trying the Napolitan or ginger pork set meal next time.

Nice to meet you, I'm Chappy Jinbo. I would like to request a review. I visited Kitchen YAMITUKI located at 5-1-7 Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku for lunch. The phone number is 03-5951-1730. The nearest station is Ikebukuro Station. I chose the special Napolitan from the menu. It costs 750 yen and comes with a salad. The special Napolitan has 300 grams of noodles and the taste is quite ordinary, but the flavor and ingredients are solid. Considering the price, the special Napolitan is worth it. There are also many other menu items with good cost performance, which personally makes me happy. That's about it. See you later.

I had a sudden craving for curry and searched on Eat Log. I realized I had never been to this restaurant before, so I decided to visit for lunch on a weekday. The interior had only counter seats and was almost full. I ordered the curry with tender pork, cabbage, and a fluffy egg topping. I think if I hadn't added the egg topping, the dish would have felt a bit lacking in ingredients. The curry was spicy, which wasn't quite to my taste. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I stopped by a new restaurant that wasn't there when I used to live in Ikebukuro. I found it while exploring the area after discovering that Tsujita Ramen had closed down. It's a small restaurant with just a counter, run by a husband and wife, and has a cozy, homey atmosphere. It's a great place for students with its affordable set meals. The food was delicious, I will definitely visit again.

There is a restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Ikebukuro Station, known for its delicious lunch. This time, I decided to check it out. The restaurant is close to Rikkyo University, so it is frequented by office workers, women, and students. During lunchtime, the small counter-only seating area was almost full, indicating its popularity. Men seemed to prefer set meals while women tended to order curry dishes. The menu offers a variety of options including curry, pasta, and set meals, making it a great place to visit multiple times. After much deliberation, I decided to try the curry with plenty of mushrooms this time. The curry arrived in about 10 minutes, emitting a unique aroma that stimulated my appetite. The curry dish was generously topped with mushrooms (shimeji, maitake, eringi, enoki, shiitake) and minced meat, served with a separate plate of 300 grams of rice. The flavors were well-balanced, the minced meat added richness, and the spiciness was mild and not overpowering. It was easy to eat and very delicious. Priced at 830 yen, it was a satisfying meal in terms of taste and portion size. I left the restaurant thinking about trying their pasta or set meals next time. In Ikebukuro, a competitive dining area, this restaurant's reputation for great taste definitely warrants a return visit. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was at "Kitchen YAMITUKI" because my colleague wanted to have Western-style food. I had the Stamina Yaki set meal for ¥860. They offer free extra rice during lunchtime, which is great! The amount of pork was decent and it felt like a good deal. ^ ^

Paul Newman can be described as a "ladies' man". I decided to try out a restaurant called "Kitchen YAMITUKI" in Ikebukuro, where they were showing four Paul Newman films. I ended up ordering their new specialty, the "Spaghetti Gratin", which turned out to be a disappointment. The spaghetti was covered in cheese and baked using a portable burner instead of an oven, resulting in a lackluster dish. After that, I watched the 1961 film "The Hustler", which turned out to be surprisingly engaging despite its long runtime. Old American films tend to have simplistic character development, but this one was a pleasant surprise.

The other day, when I passed by the store, I saw a different display on the storefront. They were offering set meals and such. Wasn't this place a curry restaurant? I decided to visit because they had ginger pork, which I have been into lately. It was before 12:00 on a weekday, and there were many customers already inside, but no waiting. The place seemed quite busy, with customers coming in one after another. [Ordered Items] Ginger Pork Set Meal 860 yen The staff were foreigners. They were cooking one after another in a frying pan, it was impressive. My ginger pork arrived quickly. It was the type with a strong presence of onions. The taste was decently good. I enjoyed the rice. Simple ginger pork with cabbage, rice, and miso soup. It's delicious to soak the cabbage in the sauce of the ginger pork. Many people were ordering fried spaghetti. They offer a variety of dishes like set meals, pilaf, and curry. It was a nice experience. Thank you for the meal.

YAMITUKI, known for its Thai-style curry in Nakano and Takadanobaba, is a restaurant that not only serves Thai-style curry but also set meals and spaghetti. The staff seem to be managing the restaurant alone. I ordered the Japanese-style butter soy sauce spaghetti, which had thin noodles and a strong vegetable oil scent. The sautéed ingredients such as onions were good, but the soy sauce flavor was weak and became boring. I couldn't finish it.

Ikebukuro Nishiguchi's "YAMITUKI Curry" has been renovated. The restaurant now offers not only curry but also spaghetti, Western dishes, and izakaya menus. The interior of the counter-only store, called "Kitchen YAMITUKI," remains the same as before. The staff on this day were all from various Asian countries, fitting the multicultural atmosphere of Ikebukuro. However, there were no issues with Japanese language orders. Let's start with a drink. ★Lemon Sour ¥350. It's delicious as is, without adding anything. ★Mentaiko (spicy cod roe) ¥300. They cleverly use mentaiko spaghetti as a menu item. It's a good value for the price, and the portion is generous, making it a good side dish for drinks or a topping for dishes. (It was delicious when mixed into the curry later on). Now, for the main dish. While they still had the curry from the "YAMITUKI Curry" era, I decided to try a Western-style curry. ★Om Curry (with miso soup) ¥800. It's a dish with wet keema curry instead of ketchup. It's full of coconut milk flavor, typical of "YAMITUKI Curry." The rice inside the omelet is dry curry style. It seems to be inspired by the famous Om Curry from Ikebukuro's Western food legend, "Kitchen ABC." However, aside from the fact that it's an "all curry" om curry, the flavor is actually quite different, with a mild spiciness and a soft texture. The egg is also soft and runny. It was surprisingly good when I used the mentaiko I ordered earlier as a flavor-changing item. Two men who came in later ordered spaghetti and set meals, and they were served with large portions. Ikebukuro Nishiguchi also has a university nearby, so they seem to be catering to the appetite of hungry students. Overall, "YAMITUKI" with its new concept seems versatile and useful.

Before the renovation, it was a curry and banh mi shop, but it has been renovated into a set meal restaurant. However, I still felt nostalgic for the curry, so I ordered the Tomato and Spinach Cheese Curry for 850 yen. A mini salad comes with the set. I mixed the melted cheese with the whole canned tomatoes, enjoying every bite. Even with a small portion of rice, I left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Ginger pork set meal for ¥860. It comes with rice and miso soup, a classic dish with a good flavor. There is also a stamina set meal available, which I think is in the same category. The amount of white rice was a bit too much, so about half would be just right. I enjoyed it when I had curry, but I'll be more careful next time.

Turn left at the alley between the Taiyaki shop and Mos Burger, and you'll find a street with Shanty and Pasta-ya. The long and narrow counter-style interior has about 10 seats. The foreign staff member didn't seem very fluent in Japanese, as he didn't say anything when I entered. I hesitated at the entrance for a while, but the staff member went to the kitchen where the Japanese chef was cooking, so I decided to just go in and sit at a counter seat on my own. I ordered the Ginger Pork Set Meal (860 yen) and it was served in less than 10 minutes. The dish had plenty of ginger on top of pork belly and onions, with visible ginger fibers floating around. I also noticed the Omurice on the menu, which looked appealing. I'll definitely come back again.

Yamitsuki Ikebukuro, known for its coconut curry, has been renovated into a restaurant where you can enjoy not only coconut curry, but also set meals and other dishes. It seems like they anticipated the demand from the student population in the area. I found it interesting and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is almost the same as before. However, the menu has changed quite a bit, with various Western-style dishes in addition to the coconut curry. They even have curry spaghetti on the menu. I noticed they offer komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach) as a topping, which reminded me of Japone. I tried it with the chicken curry, which had a different flavor from Yamitsuki's coconut curry. It would be even better if you could choose the type of curry. The komatsuna went well with the dish. Sprinkling powdered cheese and Tabasco sauce on top made for a delicious curry spaghetti. The prices are reasonable and the portion size is satisfying. It's great that they are catering well to the student demand.

On Sunday at 6:30 PM, after finishing swimming pool training, I took a breather. Today, the hormone shop I was curious about... wasn't open. What's going on? Well, in that case, there's this set meal shop that caught my attention along with the hormone shop. The logo of the shop's name seems familiar. A curry shop that I have registered as a place of interest in Kanda and Iidabashi... isn't it? Kitchen YAMITUKI? But hey, I'm also curious about the soup curry next to this shop, and the spaghetti next to that. Hmm... for now, I'll grab some canned beer from the Seven-Eleven behind me... and check out the menus of the three shops while sipping. After some contemplation, I decided to go to the set meal shop. The menu that caught my eye was the spaghetti gratin! But when comparing with other shops, my favorite ginger pork set meal it is! (860 yen) And a medium bottle (550 yen) please! It arrived in about 5 minutes! The smell of ginger is delightful. They have finely chopped ginger on top of the meat. Sometimes there are ginger pork dishes that lack the ginger flavor, but this one is definitely ginger pork. The meat is pork belly, and the ginger pork sauce is either normal or slightly less. The shredded cabbage is better eaten with the dressing it comes with rather than the ginger sauce. Mayonnaise, which goes well with both the meat and the shredded cabbage, is quietly present. The portion size is quite substantial... I took a bite... Delicious! Well, of course. It looks delicious already. There are many popular set meal shops around here, but I might like the ginger pork at this shop. Actually, ginger pork is always delicious at any shop. But you know, while the rice is refillable, there tends to be a slightly small amount of meat. This shop's portion of meat is a bit larger compared to others, which is good. You don't need to refill the rice, it's already a generous portion from the start. I don't mind the slightly sticky rice either. (This may vary depending on personal preference and the cooking conditions on the day) It's pretty good, isn't it? In that case, next time, I definitely want to try the spaghetti gratin! Thank you for the meal.

New recommended dish: Napoli-style gratin for 930 yen. The dish contains 300g of noodles, making it a challenge to finish. The taste is rich and satisfying. The menu offers a variety of hearty dishes that are sure to excite customers. Personally, I like the set meals as well, but the omelette rice seems to be popular too. Next time, I'll try the set meal or omelette rice!
