I recently became interested in pop-up restaurants. This particular one is quite exclusive, only open on certain days of the week, making it a bit challenging to visit. Following the reviews of S. Hansen, Take Tontan, and Asante, I decided to give this place a try.
The restaurant is only open on Thursdays and Fridays, serving tsukemen on Thursdays and ramen on Fridays. On this day, they were serving tsukemen. The menu offers three options: tsukemen, spicy tsukemen, and cold tsukemen (limited to 10 servings).
I was torn between trying the tsukemen or the spicy tsukemen for my first visit, but ultimately decided to go for the rare cold tsukemen. The tsukemen and spicy tsukemen are available at other times, so I wanted to try something unique.
The restaurant's Twitter account is a good resource to check for daily specials. On this day, they were offering "Delicious Tomato Garlic Chicken Donburi," which seemed like an interesting choice for a ramen shop.
The waiting area outside had four seats, but due to the recent heat, they also had a designated indoor waiting area. After finishing my errands, I headed to the restaurant and found that the outdoor seats were already taken.
The indoor waiting area was cozy, with two single chairs and a sofa for two people. The first and second customers were seated in the single chairs, while the third and fourth customers sat on the sofa.
The waitress took my order when I was first in line in the waiting area. The payment is made in advance, and there is no bill at the end.
After being seated, the waitress confirmed my order once again before bringing out my cold tsukemen and the daily special. The cold tsukemen was served with cold noodles and dipping sauce, topped with chicken chashu, seaweed, bamboo shoots, and a long wonton skin. I also added a topping of flavorful egg.
The daily special, "Delicious Tomato Garlic Chicken Donburi," consisted of chicken, onions, and shimeji mushrooms in a meat sauce, similar to a hayashi rice dish. It was surprisingly delicious!
Although the portion of cold tsukemen seemed large at first, I found myself enjoying it and finishing it quickly. The waitress even brought me some extra soup for dipping.
A female customer who arrived later requested her noodles to be served with less portion, which I found out is also an option. I look forward to trying the ramen on Fridays next time.
Overall, I had a great impression of the attentive service provided by the husband and wife team at the restaurant. It was a delightful dining experience. Thank you!
Please note that the restaurant will be closed for summer vacation on 8/10, 8/11, 8/17, and 8/18, so plan accordingly.
