I came across an interesting shop while out and about. They had a wide variety of takeout options, and the most popular item was the mackerel sandwich. It had an Italian flavor with a tomato-based sauce, and the mackerel was lightly grilled and flavorful. I would love to try it again, but it would be even better if the price was a bit more affordable.

On the way back from Jindaiji Temple, there was a takeout bento shop along the road. They had school desks and chairs set up outside the shop, so my wife asked if we could eat there. We had chiffon cake, pudding, and I had honey lemon squash for a snack. The chiffon cake had a soft, homemade taste that was delicious. The lemon squash with honey was not too sweet and went down smoothly. After walking quite a bit, we took a break before walking back to Chofu Station. In total, we took 13,817 steps round trip.

Today, we decided to have a picnic at the open space in Jindaiji, so we bought some stylish bento boxes from the Chofu Wholesale Center near the Nogawa River. The bento boxes here never disappoint, but today we bought the following already-made options:
- Latina-style bento box from Matsukazedo for 700 yen
- Herb-roasted bento box with domestic chicken thigh meat for 830 yen
- Demi-glace stewed hamburger bento box for 920 yen
They also have three-color onigiri and sandwiches available, perfect for a casual walk, hike, or bringing to the park to elevate your mood! There are also a few terrace seats available if you prefer to eat there. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I received a 1,000 yen lunch at home during weekdays. I had tried their one-coin lunch when they first opened last year, but I was a bit hesitant to try again. This time, I decided to go for the All-Star 1,000 yen bento. It included salted mackerel, roasted chicken thigh, hamburger, beef cutlet, shrimp fry, and potato salad croquette. It was delicious! The herbs and spices used, the rich bechamel sauce on the shrimp fry, and the low filler content in the hamburger were all impressive. I think their focus on Western-style dishes is great. For a regular bento, I would usually go to Minomizozo-Tei, but for special occasions, the 800-900 yen range for their specialty items seems interesting. I look forward to trying more from them in the future.

The shop that had been undergoing renovations for quite a while at Musashino Market turned out to be a bento shop. It is owned by a construction company and has a very nice exterior. I took a day off from work on a weekday and was waiting at home, so I decided to buy lunch. When I asked for recommendations, they suggested the daily special for around 500 yen. That day, it was seafood ankake fried rice. It consisted of a seafood mix, a loose sauce, and fried rice. The sauce was too runny, making it more like a rice soup. They also have seating available, with a nice atmosphere on the wooden deck, although the surrounding view is not the best. Other menu items like Greek-style grilled mackerel also look interesting. I'll try something different next time.

I had a mackerel sandwich for ¥300. It was very delicious. I thought the mackerel was small because I'm a big eater, but it had a good flavor and was surprisingly satisfying. The atmosphere of the shop was stylish, the staff were friendly and I felt comfortable ordering even though it was my first time. However, the container was too big for the amount of food, so there was space and the sandwich got messy when I took it home. I noticed this when I received the food and tried to carry it carefully, but it still happened. It would be better if they used a container that fits perfectly without any gaps, so it looks better and can be carried securely.

In the "Fuchu City Fukasawa Nigiwai no Sato" area, there is a bento shop. The prices are around ¥1000, which may not be considered cheap, but the menu looks stylish and delicious! I chose the "Latina-style Matsuhagodono Bento" for ¥810. It is divided into 9 compartments, allowing you to try a variety of items. It was made to order, so I had to wait a bit. I took it home and enjoyed it right away. The bento includes 3 types of rice (mixed grain rice, ketchup rice, white rice with furikake), 3 main dishes (chicken tomato stew, mackerel, hamburger), and 3 side dishes (carrot rapé, simmered hijiki seaweed, stir-fried bell peppers), creating a well-balanced meal. Every dish was delicious! The meat and fish were flavorful, and the vegetables retained their natural taste. The seasoning was meticulous and had a sense of craftsmanship. The tomato sauce in the tomato stew was smooth without the usual sharp acidity, while the demi-glace sauce on the hamburger had a mature, non-sweet taste. It's definitely worth the price!

It was a lively corner in the bustling area of Shindaigawairinosato. The official name is Latina Variation, a Western take-out specialty store. They have a few terrace seats with small school desks where you can eat in if there are only a few people. I ordered the Latina Variation, which includes a variety of daily side dishes, along with a spicy ginger ale and a cream puff. The grilled and fried items are cooked on the spot after ordering, so they are fresh and delicious. The cream puff had a rich custard cream filling and was quite tasty. For the quality, the price of 280 yen seemed reasonable. It was a delightful meal. P.S. The cherry blossom petals fluttering in the breeze, the warm sun, the distant sound of children playing. It feels like spring.

It was a different shop that I had in mind, but I spotted a tempting mackerel sandwich! I bought it immediately and ate it right away! The mackerel sandwich was for takeout and they heated it up for me! I was happy! There were many people ordering takeout, so it seems to be popular. The mackerel sandwich had a Western-style taste and the bread was delicious! The tartar sauce didn't overpower the mackerel and they harmonized well together. The bread had just the right softness and was tasty. I'm interested in trying their hamburger sandwich and bento box next time.

【Bustling place in Fukasaku】Fukasaku is a bustling place with various food options such as bento, cafes, delis, bread, soba, charcuterie, sushi, and more. A new takeout shop called "Latina" has recently opened, offering Latin-inspired passionate dishes. I purchased the demi-glace stewed hamburger bento, which had a satisfying and flavorful hamburger with a delicious demi-glace sauce. The rice was also tasty. I highly recommend this bento. Latina also offers curry, rice bowls, party dishes, and sweets like cream puffs, which I look forward to trying in the future.

Shimoda-ji Motomachi, Chofu City, Tokyo. This is a unique bento shop specializing in Western food such as hamburgers, curry, sautéed flatfish, and sandwiches. The nearest stations are Futako-Tamagawa Station and Chofu Station on the Keio Line. It is located along the Nogawa River at "Shin-Dai-Nigiwai-no-Sato (formerly Musashino Market)". The mackerel sandwich is delicious! There is only one market in Chofu City, "Shin-Dai-Nigiwai-no-Sato", which is open to the general public. I stopped by during a weekend walk from home. The staff consisted of two women. Today's order: Mackerel Sandwich for 410 yen. I walked to Shimoda-ji and enjoyed it on a bench near the main gate. The mackerel sandwich is not Turkish style, but sandwiched between slices of bread. It has basil-flavored salt-grilled mackerel with a special tomato sauce. It also seems to use olive oil. There is a slight fishy smell remaining, but it's delicious! The bento boxes range from 700 to 1100 yen, so they are on the pricier side, but the elaborate preparation makes it worth it. I might stop by again during my walks. #Shimoda-ji #SupportLocal2022Summer⑭ #Shin-Dai-Nigiwai-no-Sato #WesternFood #BentoShop #WesternCuisine #Sandwiches #Takeout #ParkingAvailable #NogawaRiver #NearShimoda-ji #NearJindai Botanical Garden #PossibilityofRevisiting

Latina @ Chofu City, Tokyo @ Bento shop Located on the south side of Jindaiji in Chofu City, outside of Jindai Nigiwai no Sato (formerly Musashino Market). Started in May 2019 by replacing another bento shop. They offer a variety of bentos for 1,000 yen, simmered hamburger bento, Matsukado bento (650 yen), curry, sandwiches, and 15 other types. I took out the following: Latina Variation 1,000 yen - A fun bento with roast chicken thigh, simmered hamburger, roast pork with three elements, salted mackerel, and a black tiger fry wrapped in Parmesan sauce, along with potato salad croquette. It is a visually appealing and delicious bento. The customer service was also good, and I would like to visit again. The market in Chofu, which is somewhat quiet (formerly Musashino Market, now Nigiwai no Sato), has a relatively new takeout-only shop that has been operating since 2019. It would be appropriate to describe it as a bento shop specializing in Western cuisine. The dishes have an elegant flavor overall, with a mild saltiness that is easy to eat. Both the meat and fish are juicy and well-prepared. The taste direction is towards Western cuisine, for example, grilled mackerel with a hint of thyme, or curry with chunks of beef that has a European flair, showcasing its unique character. The warm and woody store is operated by a local construction company, which adds to its charm. Although the prices are a bit high, I believe the quality matches the price, and it seems like a nice place to stop by for a picnic by the nearby Nogawa River.

I had my final dinner before moving to a new place, and I chose an All-Star Latina Variation bento box for 1,000 yen. I added a 200 yen soup as well. The bento box included hamburger, croquette, shrimp fry, roast beef, grilled chicken, and other Western dishes. The soup was shimeji mushroom potage made with a blend of bechamel and consomme soup. It was homemade and delicious. The bento box had a variety of dishes with a lot of meat, such as juicy hamburger and rare shrimp fry. It was fun to try all the different dishes. Although I will be moving further away, I hope to visit this restaurant again in the future.
