While strolling around Tsukiji, I decided to stop by a shop labeled as the "main store". The interior was not as charming as I expected. I didn't realize it was just one of many branches. I bought something at a reasonable price. Hopefully, it tastes good. I will provide more feedback on the taste later. .... Partial taste feedback: Lemon-flavored fried senbei had more sweetness than lemon flavor, which was unexpected! I thought it would be a salty snack with a hint of lemon taste and aroma! It didn't suit my taste. This is just my personal preference.

Mochi Yoshii at the Ginza main store. I receive it quite often. It's a product labeled "Mame no mochi." It's salad flavored. The dough has beans kneaded into it. It's fragrant. It's too big to eat in one bite. It's hard, just like rice crackers.

I passed by this place on the weekend and it had a nice atmosphere, so I decided to stop by. I thought it would be a shop mainly selling traditional Japanese sweets like mochi, but as soon as I entered, there was a long lineup of senbei (rice crackers) from the entrance. I was a bit surprised as it was different from what I expected, but then I found the Japanese sweets I was looking for near the register. This time, I tried the following items:
- Kusa Mochi
- Daifuku with beans
- Almond Rice Cracker
- Manju (you fill the red bean paste yourself)
- En Mochi
They also had other unique snacks and appetizers. The Daifuku with beans was very soft and delicious, with plenty of beans inside. The Kusa Mochi had a nice mugwort aroma. The unexpected hit was the "Almond Rice Cracker"! It was crispy with lots of almonds, and even though I'm on a diet, I ended up eating more than half a bag in one go (laughs). This shop seems convenient for small gifts as well, so I would like to visit again. They accept payment through Paypay.

The year is coming to an end soon. It went by so fast. Today, I came to buy souvenirs for my hometown visit. I bought two sets of assorted snacks for 1404 yen each. Right now, if you spend over 2160 yen, nationwide shipping is free. It would be convenient to use that offer, but I think I'll just take them home myself.

Around 4:20 in the afternoon, I visited the shop. (株) Mochi Yoshii's headquarters is located in Nogata City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and is the largest rice cracker manufacturer with headquarters in Niigata Prefecture. It is said to use 100% domestically produced rice in all products and provides "Chikara-mizu" at the Grand Sumo Tournament. I purchased Okaki Mix 475 yen, Kakemochi Yaki "Unselected" Soy Sauce Flavor 356 yen, and Uki Uzu 237 yen, totaling 1,068 yen. Okaki Mix is a popular top 9 product with various rice crackers. Kakemochi Yaki "Unselected" Soy Sauce Flavor is a large rice cracker with a satisfying texture. Uki Uzu is a popular top 3 product with a crispy texture and a slightly sweet soy sauce aroma. Thank you for the meal.

I went to buy souvenirs and found a large box of assorted sweets that looked nice. I didn't want something too heavy, so this was perfect.

First visit in August 2020 (No.1960) After finishing up with picking out sushi in the Tsukiji area, I visited this place located along the way. Founded in 1929 (Showa 4), Mochikichi Co., Ltd. was established in 1983 (Showa 58) with an annual sales of 21.4 billion yen, and the group has a staggering 225 registered stores on Tabelog. The address seems to be in Fukuoka Prefecture, so what does "main store" mean? I purchased the Mame no Senbei (soy sauce flavor) for 540 yen among various products they were selling, considering the convenience of transportation. It's a lightly sweet and simply delicious senbei. Thank you for the meal.

Mochi Yoshi / En Mochi Cherry Blossom ☑︎ 108 kcal
The expiration date is surprisingly early for a Japanese sweet, being a fresh sweet. The en mochi has a mochi-like texture that is stretchy. It is chewy and not dry, with a firmness that is different from being too chewy. The texture is unique and enjoyable, even when eating just the dough. The cherry blossom filling inside is absolutely delicious! It tastes just like eating sakura mochi, with a perfect balance of saltiness that complements the sweet red bean paste well. Despite the dough and calories, there is plenty of red bean paste inside. I will definitely want to eat this again next year!

(Visit on March 15, 2020) I took a walk from Roppongi to Tsukiji and decided to stop by this shop. I waited as various types of rice crackers were being sold. I picked up a couple of sets, including almond mochi @ 237 yen and unsorted white soybean rice crackers @ 378 yen (both excluding tax), which I thought my wife would like. As I headed to the register, the staff told me multiple times that if I bought a Japanese sweet now, I would get a free en-mochi. With that kind of offer, I couldn't resist buying. I added a ohagi @ 194 yen (excluding tax) and decided to try the limited edition sakura sweet bean paste en-mochi. When I got home, I tried the ohagi. It was filled with plenty of sweet bean paste and had a small amount of sticky rice. It was more sweet bean paste than rice, but it wasn't too sweet or heavy, so I ended up finishing two of them in no time. Japanese sweets are surprisingly good. The rice crackers had just the right amount of salt and were perfect for tea time. Sometimes you just crave rice crackers. I'm glad to be Japanese. Thank you for the meal.

I love Mochi Yoshi's rice crackers so much that I end up buying them regularly. Normally, people would use them as gifts, but this time I bought them to eat at home. I thought it would be nice to get a special assorted set so I can enjoy a variety of flavors. I can't stop eating them every day.
