I'm feeling a bit sluggish, so I drank some water, coffee, and green tea, and now I'm about to have another coffee on this Saturday. Originally, I was supposed to go out in the morning for driving practice, but I heard that the car I had reserved for car sharing was in an accident, so I canceled it yesterday. I was feeling unwell and couldn't get up this morning, so I canceled the reservation. Anyway, it seems that plans never go as expected, so it's better to do things on a whim whenever you can. Even though I had plans yesterday and was supposed to meet someone, I forced myself to go, but in my case, it's better not to accommodate others too much. My back hurts, and my stomach hurts. I took my allergy medicine, washed my face, applied some ointment, and now I'm resting quietly. I know that people who don't want to show allergy symptoms should avoid consuming sugar. The following is from the official website: We wrapped smooth sweet bean paste in soft white nama yatsuhashi with just the right amount of sweetness. Quantity: 10 pieces, Shelf life: 12 days. Seigoin Yatsuhashi at Kyoto Takashimaya Department Store 075-221-8811 52 Shinmachi, Shijo-dori Kawaramachi-nishiiru, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Takashimaya B1F.

"I sometimes feel like eating 'Nama Yatsuhashi' as well. However, it's not always easy to find them nearby, so whenever I come across them, I can't help but buy them. It's a favorite souvenir for my family as well. When I went to Kyoto for some errands, I bought the 'Shishu Kuri' for 1,188 yen (tax included). When looking for souvenirs, department stores are always a reliable option. I was thinking of buying something my wife and kids would like when I happened to be offered a sample of the Seigoin Nama Yatsuhashi. I decided to buy it without hesitation when I heard it was a 'limited-time' product. The 'Shishu Kuri' had chestnut paste in it, and after trying the sample, I couldn't resist buying it. It had finely chopped chestnuts mixed with white bean paste, giving it a double texture and flavor that brought happiness. The 'Shishu Kuri' consists of chestnut, date, matcha, and black sesame. The presence of date, matcha, and black sesame, in addition to the chestnut, was a deciding factor for me. I took a quick photo on the limited express train on my way back. I couldn't open the souvenir right away to eat, so I planned to enjoy it later. However, by the time I returned from work the next day, the box was already opened, and I couldn't take a decent photo of the contents. I had already eaten the black sesame and date ones from the remaining few pieces, and I enjoyed them. Apologies for not being able to share the details of the product."

Located in the heart of Kyoto's downtown area, this shop is located in the basement of Takashimaya on Shijo Street. In front of the store, they sell various types of Yatsuhashi, including matcha-flavored and strawberry-flavored ones, as well as Yatsuhashi without any filling, just the skin. This time, I purchased the matcha-flavored one, which is said to be the most Kyoto-like taste. My impression after trying it is that the Yatsuhashi here is characterized by its unique skin. Compared to the Yatsuhashi I have had before, there is clearly less filling, the skin is larger, and it is quite moist. In addition, the scent of the skin is indescribable, with a unique aroma that takes over the whole confectionery rather than being a traditional wagashi. It seems like a shop more suitable for those who like the skin part of Yatsuhashi, and I think personal preferences will vary greatly.

I received a Kyoto souvenir as a gift. It's a classic Kyoto souvenir that I don't eat often, so I'm happy to receive it. It was a winter package with two flavors, cinnamon and matcha. The mochi texture and cinnamon flavor are really good. Lately, there are various flavors of Yatsuhashi such as chocolate, sakura, chestnut, and strawberry, and I can't help but want to eat them again. It's a different type of Yatsuhashi from "Nama" Yatsuhashi. It comes in individual packaging with three pieces each, making it easy to eat anytime. It has a crispy texture, unlike "Nama" Yatsuhashi, and that's also good.

On April 5, 2016, in the afternoon, I visited this shop to buy souvenirs. It is located on the basement floor of Takashimaya Kyoto Store. In the Japanese sweets section, they had only Seigoin Yatsuhashi. Unlike other companies who use artificial coloring, I like that their Yatsuhashi focuses on the natural flavors and does not vividly dye the color of the cherry blossom Yatsuhashi. I purchased a half of their limited edition Sakura Yatsuhashi. The price was reasonable at half the price. The taste was smooth with cherry blossom sweet bean paste, which goes well with green tea. I recommend buying Yatsuhashi at Kyoto Takashimaya.
