In the vicinity of Okachimachi, there is a branch in Okachimachi and this Ueno branch. This one is located very close to Ameyoko Street. It was Sunday afternoon at 1:30 pm and there were about 10 groups waiting in line. They take your order while you wait in line. I decided on the pork cutlet set, not the large or extra large, just the normal size. The price is an amazing 850 yen including tax. I asked for less rice since the normal portion is 300g. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I entered the restaurant. I was seated at the counter on the 1st floor. In front of me were two pots of oil. One for frying at low temperature and the other for finishing at high temperature. The chef skillfully coated the cutlet with a coarse bread crumb and placed it in the oil. The finished cutlet had a crispy coating and when I heard the sound of the knife cutting through it, my expectations rose. The cutlet was large with plenty of cabbage. It was a normal size but a large pork cutlet. It was about 1.5cm thick, not too fatty, tender, and delicious with mustard and plenty of sauce. Considering the price, I believe it is Canadian pork, but the cooking and coating were done well, and the cost performance is excellent. Thank you for the meal.
