There is a sandwich with additive-free ground meat and iced Americano coffee available at this café located in a traditional Japanese house. The food was refreshing and satisfying, and I would like to visit frequently. It seems like it's not in Ikebukuro. LOL.

A hidden gem cafe in Ikebukuro ☕️
Atmosphere: Suitable for dates, mom gatherings
Food: Sandwiches, scones
Features: Private tatami rooms, tables
Located slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Ikebukuro, this hidden gem cafe feels like it's part of a traditional Japanese inn. You enter through the same entrance as the inn, take off your shoes, and change into slippers. You order and pay at the beginning.
This time, we reserved a private room and dined on tatami mats. I ordered a boiled egg sandwich and iced coffee. The sandwiches are famous here, and the cross-section looks amazing! They seem filling but are packed with vegetables, making them healthy and easy to finish. They also offer scones and puddings that look delicious!
Great for dates or mom gatherings.

I wanted to go to a café in Ikebukuro, so I randomly found a café in a renovated hotel. It had a Japanese-style renovation, so you had to take off your shoes before entering. The café latte and scones were delicious. Since it's on the first floor of the hotel, there were other customers in the shared area.

I heard about a unique dessert where pudding is sandwiched between scones, so I went to Ikebukuro. I visited before 4 pm on a weekday and was able to enter right away!
✂︎┈┈┈┈┈┈Ordered Items┈┈┈┈┈┈

After relaxing in the inn-like interior for about 8 minutes, the pudding was served. A dense and firm pudding. The sweetness is mild with a slight milky taste and a hint of cheese richness. The chantilly cream accompanies a natural sweetness, with the caramel bitterness as an accent. As I finished eating, I suddenly realized, "Oh, I didn't order the scone pudding!" I ordered it as an addition. The scone pudding arrived in about 5 minutes. At first glance, the pudding is completely sandwiched between the scone, making it hard to tell if the pudding is inside. Upon confirmation, it is indeed a solid pudding! The inside is a very dense and firm pudding. You can enjoy the rich bitterness of matcha. The scone is thick with a crispy outer layer and a dense texture inside, packed with wheat and butter flavors when you bite into it. I enjoyed each of them! The calming atmosphere makes me want to visit again! Thank you for the meal!

Business meeting at a lovely restaurant recommended by a business partner. The spacious private room (Japanese-style) allowed for a relaxed atmosphere and in-depth discussions. The vegetable-packed, healthy-looking sandwich was substantial and satisfying for lunch. This place is definitely worth revisiting! ★

Ikebukuro's west exit. I was looking for a nice cafe to kill time before going out for drinks at night and I stumbled upon "Kimidokan", a ryokan with a cafe that seems to cater to inbound tourists. The entrance is the same as the ryokan's. You enter the building through a curtain and take off your shoes to put on slippers at the entrance. If you walk straight ahead, you'll find the front desk for accommodations, and to the right, at the end of the hallway, is the cafe space. You place your order in the room on the right side before the cafe space and pay there. I ordered the homemade rich cheese pudding for 650 yen and today's coffee for 550 yen. After paying, you wait in the cafe space at the end of the hallway. The cafe space is small and cozy. There were foreign tourists and people working on their laptops, maybe doing telework. It might get a bit noisy if someone is on a conference call with their laptop in such a small space, but otherwise, it's a relaxing environment. The cheese pudding was delicious, and currently, it seems like a hidden gem of a cafe.

Today's sweets is "Kimi Natural 73+cafe" in Ikebukuro✨ It's a cafe located on the 1st floor of a ryokan a little away from Ikebukuro Station West Exit☕️ I ordered the Uji matcha Prince Scone Sandwich and the additive-free Meat Miso Tamago Sandwich. The Prince Scone Sandwich has a firm baked scone with a rich and firm matcha pudding sandwiched in between‼️ It's quite innovative and delicious✨ The scone is soaked in caramel sauce, making it tasty when eaten together. The sandwich is also very filling with handmade bread made from natural yeast, free-range eggs, and fresh vegetables packed tightly inside. It was so delicious that I couldn't decide between the sandwich and the scone, so I ended up ordering both and it was a lot of food. It was delicious and the staff were friendly and kind, so I would like to visit again♪ Thank you for the meal☺️

This cafe is a hidden gem! It's almost like a traditional inn, but more like a cafe. It was a completely new experience. You can truly relax here. The food, coffee, and baked goods all looked delicious. The staff's service was also very impressive.

The food and coffee were both delicious! The staff were also very nice and talked to us a lot, which made us happy. There were many families with children, probably because there were private rooms available. It was very relaxing to dine in the tatami room.

Today's coffee was from Kenya (550 yen). It had a light taste with a hint of acidity. The rich cheese pudding (650 yen) was firm and the cheese flavor really stood out. It was delicious. This cafe is located within a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn). Food-only orders are not allowed, you must order at least one drink.

Matcha Cheese Pudding ¥680
Matcha Latte ¥600
The matcha cheese pudding is incredibly rich. The matcha scent comes first, followed by the cheese aroma, both fragrances are strong. The pudding is thick and sticky, enhancing the richness. It has a mild sweetness and is delicious. The creamy and light whipped cream on top is also tasty. The caramel is on the sweeter side.
The matcha latte is very creamy with lots of milk, no sweetness. As a matcha lover, I prefer a stronger matcha flavor.

I ordered half anko butter toast and namilatte. The bread was soft and the anko butter matched well, it was delicious. The interior of the shop was like a former ryokan, with a Japanese atmosphere. There were also tatami rooms and I saw a few people with children. It was a stylish shop that was unexpectedly trendy for Ikebukuro.

On a regular day, I visited the restaurant right after it opened. I took off my shoes and changed into disposable slippers before entering the shop. It really felt like a traditional inn. I placed my order and paid upfront, and the staff brought it to me. I wasn't very hungry, so I just ordered a sandwich and today's coffee. The sandwich was quite big. There was only one group of customers at a table when I arrived. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter. Maybe it was because it was a weekday? The restaurant didn't get full until I left, and it had a calm atmosphere throughout. However, the chairs at the counter were uncomfortable to sit on, and the heating wasn't very effective, so it was a bit cold. I think only the counter seats have power outlets. There was also a person with a baby stroller. I wonder if the private rooms have tatami floors? They seem like a relaxing option. Next time, I want to try the scone sandwich.

It would be lucky if you can use a private room, but on the first floor, the voices of other customers can be quite loud, so it's lucky if everyone is quiet. The cost performance is not great, but the menu is gentle on the body and makes you feel warm. The lunch on holidays was around 2000 yen without drinks. If I were to ask for something more, since they are particular about the ingredients, I wish they would serve something other than pasta salad with mayonnaise. It would be nice to have soy lattes as well. ^_^;

The pumpkin custard sandwiched between a crunchy scone was exquisite♡ The coffee was delicious too, both tasted like they were worth the price. It was quiet and relaxing during the weekday afternoon, probably because it's a bit hidden and only those who purposely come will find it (lol).

I enjoyed a sandwich in a private room with tatami flooring. The calming scent of tatami and the cozy atmosphere were perfect. The sandwich was delicious too, even though I was surprised by the black bread. I heard they use all-natural ingredients, and it was still very tasty. I definitely want to go back again. Next time, I want to try the dessert with pudding sandwiched between cookies (sorry, I can't remember the exact name).

From the west exit of Ikebukuro to a back alley. It's a cafe run by an old-fashioned hostel-like inn. When you pass through the half-underground noren, a nice atmosphere welcomes you at the entrance. Change into slippers and order before being guided to your seat. This flow feels like checking in and going to your room at a ryokan. The boiled egg mayo sandwich looks voluminous at first glance but is packed with vegetables, making it healthy and easy to eat in one go. The Prince Corn Sandwich has a rich and gooey cheese pudding! The scone has a cookie-like firm texture, so instead of eating it as a sandwich, it might be better to cut it into bite-sized pieces with a fork and enjoy it like a cake. This one has more volume than a sandwich, and although I ordered it as a dessert, I quickly became full. The cold brew iced coffee is very refreshing and perfect to pair with the rich scone sandwich! It was a bit cool that day, but on a hot summer day, I might just gulp it down. Most of all, because it's a cafe attached to a ryokan or rather renovated from one, I was feeling relaxed and leisurely... until suddenly a lot of customers arrived and I had to leave. It seems like they have private rooms for 2 people, so next time I would like to visit with friends to relax and enjoy.

I visited a cafe with tatami mat flooring and private rooms that I had been curious about. I was so happy with my first visit that I decided to go back the following month! We ordered the following items: Rich Matcha Cheesecake Pudding (630 yen) and English Muffin (1,380 yen) with iced coffee. The pudding was indeed rich and creamy. The muffin and sandwich options include choices like meat miso or simmered egg. I chose the meat miso, which had a slightly sweet flavor. It seems like they pay a lot of attention to the ingredients, and it's also nice that the food is healthy. What's more, if you reserve a private room, you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed atmosphere, feeling like you've come to a ryokan (Japanese inn).-----

A café located in Ikebukuro, using a corner of a ryokan. With a Japanese-style atmosphere where you take off your shoes before entering. It was raining on a weekday at 2 pm, and the shop was empty. *Rich Matcha Cheesecake Pudding 630 yen (tax included) *Today's Coffee 500 yen (tax included) Set for a 50 yen discount from here. As soon as I put the spoon in, I thought "It's hard! (◎_◎;)" When I put the spoon in, I was surprised by the resistance. However, after taking a bite, the rich matcha and cheese flavors, and smooth texture were delicious. There was also a scone sandwiched with this pudding. With this hardness, it does make sense to sandwich it with a scone.

Renovated the 1st and 2nd floors of the elegant inn, Kibi Ryokan, into a café. Located a 3-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station West Exit C6. Take off your shoes and change into slippers. Order and pay on the 1st floor, then clean up at the self-service counter. The 2nd floor guest rooms (12 rooms) have been transformed into private seating, available at no extra charge for groups of 2 or more. As I visited alone, I used the space at the back of the 1st floor. There are 4 counter seats and 4 table seats by the window. With outlets and Wi-Fi available, it's perfect for working. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making you want to stay longer. The rich Matcha Cheesecake Pudding (630 yen) is limited in quantity. It uses carefully selected ingredients such as Amami Islands brown sugar, batch-processed milk, and free-range eggs. The texture is surprisingly firm when you pierce it with a spoon, with a chewy outer layer and a rich, chocolate-like center. The cheese flavor is subtle, with a strong sweetness from white chocolate and a caramel finish, resulting in a refreshing taste. The Matcha Pudding Sandwich (780 yen) is also limited in quantity and available for takeout. It features a Califa Soy Scone made with natural yeast, combining the bitterness of matcha and the gentle sweetness of brown sugar. The scone sandwich adds a new texture to the pudding. The scone is crispy and has a hint of salt, complementing the sweetness of the pudding. You can enjoy the smoothness and melt-in-your-mouth texture of the pudding along with the crispy scone. The scone itself is large and satisfying to eat. You can get a 50 yen discount on the Water Drip Iced Coffee Drink Set. Personally, I found the scone sandwich delicious, and I would like to try using the private room next time with someone else. Around 11:30 am on a weekday, there were no other customers. The guests using the private rooms were several groups of women and families with children.
