Located about 5 minutes from JR Shinjuku Station South Exit, "Taichi" is a restaurant that may be a bit hard to find, but you can spot it from the white curtain in front of the Yoyogi Second Police Box. They use "Hagakure Sullpon," also known as organic sullpon, which is farmed in Saga Prefecture. It has a tender and flavorful meat with a sweet fat, and no unpleasant odor. The "Sullpon Revolution Course" (¥9350 tax included) features a sullpon soup that is simmered for 3 hours as the base of the course. The meal includes various dishes such as sullpon soup-based miso soup, a refreshing salad, sullpon tempura, a palate cleanser, sullpon chawanmushi, sullpon liver sashimi salad, sullpon hot pot, a side dish, sullpon genmai porridge, and hand-baked monaka ice cream. The staff, who were originally lunch customers, provided enjoyable explanations of the dishes. It was a delightful experience to savor such delicious food at this restaurant.

Located in Shibuya Ward, this restaurant is close to Shinjuku and has a similar atmosphere. Their lunch dish, the "suppon" turtle soup, has been featured in magazines. During my recent visit, I noticed that they have taken thorough measures against COVID-19 inside the restaurant. The lunch menu mainly consists of soba dishes and traditional Japanese set meals. I ordered the Japanese set meal with three items for 1800 yen. Here are the dishes I selected: - Wagyu beef liver cutlet with rare finish and spicy grated daikon with ponzu sauce: The tender Wagyu beef liver was delicious without any unpleasant smell. It felt like I could even go for raw liver sashimi. The ponzu sauce was not overly sour and added a nice touch to the dish. - Seared Wagyu beef with grated yam (wasabi used): The seared Wagyu beef had a delightful smoky flavor, a common choice for lunch at this restaurant. - Beef tongue (soft stewed and croquette) with tomato demiglace sauce: The demiglace sauce tasted more like a simple tomato sauce, which was somewhat average. However, the beef tongue itself was tender and very tasty. The croquette underneath added a lot of volume to the dish. The tofu and soup, both rich in flavor, were delicious. The rice served was mixed grain rice. Overall, this restaurant offers delicious traditional Japanese set meals for lunch.

I enjoyed a course meal featuring various dishes made with softshell turtle, including salad, chawanmushi, fried softshell turtle, sashimi, hot pot, and rice porridge. I reconfirmed the deliciousness of softshell turtle, rich in collagen and nutrients. In particular, the sashimi made from various internal organs of the softshell turtle was outstanding.

Located about a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. Feeling a bit tired, I decided to visit a specialty restaurant for softshell turtle dishes. The course included "softshell turtle tempura," "softshell turtle sashimi," "softshell turtle hot pot," and "ojya." The tempura had a light and not too heavy taste due to using wheat flour as the coating. The texture of the softshell turtle was like a cross between chicken and white fish, light and delicious. The sashimi was of a good size, and I got to taste not only the meat but also the liver, heart, testicles, and eggs. The hot pot was all about collagen. From the softshell turtle's empeira (between the shell and the meat) to other parts, there was plenty of collagen. I heard it's good for beauty as well. I enjoyed the brown rice ojya with a rich broth from the hot pot as a fitting end. Absorbing the softshell turtle extract through the ojya was a nice finish. The dessert, "sesame ice cream in a rice cake," brought my satisfaction level to its peak. When you're feeling tired, softshell turtle might just be the perfect choice.

I went to a high-class traditional Japanese restaurant in Shinjuku and had a turtle lunch. The restaurant is located near Shinjuku South Exit. There are many popular restaurants in the area, such as Fuunji, and it is usually crowded with many foreign tourists. However, this place is relatively quiet and not as busy. I ordered the signature dish, "Turtle Genmai Ojiya," for 2400 yen. The dish contains a generous amount of high-quality turtle meat, and I think the price is quite reasonable. The ojiya, made with turtle broth, is rich and flavorful, with a satisfying taste. (I haven't had turtle meat much before, but it tastes similar to chicken and is very delicious with the broth.) There are also many other delicious lunch options, such as oyster tempura rice bowl and traditional Japanese set meals, so I would love to visit this restaurant again!

I visited for lunch. I always thought going to a turtle restaurant alone would be intimidating, but when I arrived, the door was open and I could see inside, hearing the cheerful voices of the staff. It was busy at lunchtime, but I was able to sit at the counter without waiting. It's nice that even if you're dining alone, you can come here without feeling out of place. While waiting, I enjoyed a delicious tea. When my "turtle rice porridge" arrived, they told me it came with turtle eggs today, which was a special treat. The porridge had a rich flavor, the eggs were fluffy, and the turtle was tender and delicious. It was a small joy that I appreciated. When I paid, they warmly said, "Please come again!" I definitely will. I felt energized both physically and mentally. Next time, I'll try a regular meal like soba or meat tofu. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

The restaurant mostly has semi-private rooms, making it suitable for business entertainment or dates. The atmosphere is very calm and pleasant. The restaurant is located a little off the Koshu Kaido. Each dish has a strong flavor of turtle broth, showing the master's dedication.

The atmosphere and taste of the restaurant were very good. The staff were also very nice, but they tried too hard to liven things up and ended up making awkward jokes, which slightly disrupted the mood. However, I think this would be great for people who enjoy that kind of atmosphere! It was lucky to be able to try softshell turtle eggs.

Soppon-denichi is located in Nishi-Shinjuku, inside the Bunka Fashion College. They use "Hagakure Soppon," known for its beauty, health benefits, and being gentle on the body. The soppon raised at the breeding farm is grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides, using healthy water containing EM microbes. They only use special feed made with pesticide-free vegetables. It's truly organic soppon. You can easily enjoy soppon dishes for lunch here. It's a hidden gem located near the udon restaurant "Shin" and the tsukemen restaurant "Fuunji," but it's tucked away in an alley, so it's quite a hidden spot. Soppon Genmai Ojiya costs 2,400 yen and is made with soppon from Hagakure, cooked with brown rice for a chewy texture. It also includes collagen-rich soppon meat. The ojiya has a savory taste and is delicious. It comes with a raw soppon egg. The restaurant has semi-private rooms and a counter, making it convenient. Thank you for the meal!

The staff's customer service is fantastic! The atmosphere is great and all the rooms are private and spacious. I even received a Christmas present! I was surprised by the discount rate on the coupon I received! Wait, you'll give me that much discount next time too? That was my impression. The taste is exceptional, the best! Every part of the softshell turtle, the simmered fish maw, it's quality surpasses the price. I won't be able to eat other softshell turtles anymore!

I had lunch with an old acquaintance to lift our spirits, and it was my first visit to this restaurant that I had been wanting to try for a while. We opted for the "Revolution Course," which was the perfect theme for our conversation today. The lunch course cost 10,000 yen including tax, and it was a set menu rather than a la carte, making it easier to reserve a table for lunch. We started with a refreshing oolong tea. 【Appetizer】"Softshell Turtle Wonton Soup" - Wonton filled with softshell turtle meat, ground pork, and pounded shrimp in a broth with ingredients like carrots, bean sprouts, and enoki mushrooms. The softshell turtle used in the dish was a special find from Saga, raised on organic vegetables. It seemed good for the body and tasted delicious. 【Deep-fried Dish】"Softshell Turtle Meat, Ray Fin Tempura with Ponzu Sauce" - Tempura made with arrowroot starch, with ray fin tempura on the left and blowfish meat tempura on the right, served with softshell turtle shell underneath. The tempura was rich in collagen, and it was satisfying. 【Palate Cleanser】"Seaweed with Tosazu Vinegar" - A fragrant seaweed dish with vinegar, which also seemed beneficial for the body. 【Softshell Turtle Chawanmushi】- A hot chawanmushi made with softshell turtle soup, which was delicious and satisfying. 【Softshell Turtle Liver Sashimi Salad】- A salad with fresh liver, intestines, boiled meat, fat, and sesame oil ponzu dressing, with boiled softshell turtle meat, finely chopped intestines, and precious softshell turtle eggs. It was a unique and memorable dish. 【Hot Pot】- Softshell turtle soup with saury dashi, served with softshell turtle meat, shell, and plum-flavored kudzu tofu. 【Intermezzo】- A dish of high-quality Japanese beef, yuba, and grilled eggplant served as a break before the next course. 【Softshell Turtle Rice Porridge】- Brown rice porridge cooked with softshell turtle soup, served with pickles, which was delicious as expected. 【Dessert】- Handmade ice cream sandwich with black sesame ice cream, a perfect ending to the meal. 【Aromatic Tea】- Special roasted green tea, carefully prepared and delicious. The service provided by the staff, especially the woman who served us, was attentive and cheerful, adding to the overall satisfaction of the lunch experience. The softshell turtle not only gave us physical vitality but also lifted our spirits through the hospitality of the staff. A great restaurant, and I look forward to trying it for dinner next time.

In Shinjuku, I tried turtle for the first time. The course menu includes humorous explanations from the hostess for each dish, but there are so many details that most of it is lost. It started with a soup made from vegetables, matsutake mushrooms, and turtle, along with turtle dumplings. The turtle meat was light and not gamey. After a plate of warm vegetables, fried turtle, stingray fin, and matsutake mushrooms were served. The turtle was divided into the meat and the gelatinous part around the shell called "Empella". It had a texture similar to chicken meat. The stingray fin chawanmushi with turtle broth was luxurious, and the soup with ankake sauce was delicious. The lightly seared turtle sashimi had a firm texture, similar to Miyazaki chicken. I was able to enjoy turtle eggs marinated in soy sauce, which had a rich and thick flavor. The meal ended with turtle hot pot and porridge. The hot pot had a 9:1 ratio of turtle broth to flying fish broth. The collagen from the turtle seemed to be good for health. The porridge also contained turtle and had a slightly thick consistency. Overall, I found turtle to be surprisingly delicious for my first time trying it. I'm glad I was able to enjoy turtle once in my lifetime. Thank you for the meal.

I have used this restaurant many times, and this time I went for a friend's birthday celebration. As always, the food was delicious. The fried softshell turtle meat was fluffy and tender, and the salad with internal organs was fresh and had no unpleasant smell. Especially, the softshell turtle soup was an outstanding dish. Tanichi is really delicious. By the way, they give a 2000 yen discount coupon to each person who goes during their birthday month, which is super nice. I look forward to using it again next time.

First of all, it is located a little away from the noisy area of Shinjuku and has a quiet atmosphere. It was my first time eating softshell turtle, but it didn't have a strong taste, more like a mild flavor similar to chicken. The dessert at the end was also very delicious. Despite the low number of customers due to COVID-19, the service was very polite.

Today, I visited the restaurant with my close friend again! The food was so delicious that we couldn't help but eat in silence! I personally loved the fried chicken the most, while my friend recommended the hot pot. This time, we tried the "Liver Salad" course, but I must say the simple "Liver" from the previous visit was tastier. For first-timers, I highly recommend choosing the special selection or the hearty hot pot course! Drink lovers will definitely enjoy the "Liver" dish! However, this time it took 2.5 hours to finish the meal, even though we started at 5 pm. In the past, starting at 7 pm only took 1.5 hours. I hope the next visit will be smoother. Thank you and looking forward to visiting again!

The restaurant has a simple and warm Japanese atmosphere that I really like. I have been there many times and I can eat in a relaxed manner. The staff are friendly and talkative, which leaves a good impression. Some restaurants serving turtle dishes may have a strong smell, but I think this place cooks it very well. The portion size of the course meal is a bit generous, but overall it is a good restaurant.

Delicious! Eating raw softshell turtle sashimi? Everything is delicious! It's definitely a luxury item. I won't eat softshell turtle for another 10 years! However, the lunch menu is rich with other customers enjoying soba and other dishes that all look delicious. I will definitely come back to try different lunches again!

I had never eaten softshell turtle cuisine before, so out of curiosity, I decided to try it (^_^;) I had only tried dishes like softshell turtle soup dumplings in Chinese cuisine before. I made a reservation in advance and visited the restaurant. I chose the Softshell Turtle Revolution course. I got to try various softshell turtle dishes like fried softshell turtle and softshell turtle hot pot. The appearance of dishes like the hot pot with softshell turtle cartilage and neck meat may be a little... off-putting, but they were actually delicious. The dishes had a lot of flavor, although I couldn't quite grasp the unique characteristics of softshell turtle, probably because I have limited experience with it.

Sliced softshell turtle and shark fin chawanmushi, softshell turtle tempura, softshell turtle hot pot, including softshell turtle meat, heart, liver, intestines, and eggs. A course that showcases various softshell turtle dishes. Highly recommended for those who want to fully experience softshell turtle cuisine. From fried dishes to liver sashimi, hot pot, and finishing with a luxurious dish of softshell turtle. The shark fin chawanmushi using softshell turtle soup was exquisite, a double dose of collagen. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

As expected, the softshell turtle was a bit pricey, but it exceeded my expectations as it had no fishy smell. Even though I usually don't like liver or innards, I had no problem eating them. The texture was similar to regular meat, and my personal favorite was the softshell turtle and shark fin chawanmushi. It's a bit expensive, so I may not be able to visit frequently, but if I have friends who haven't tried softshell turtle, I would like to invite them. The taste was excellent, but I didn't feel the urge to come back every day because I love softshell turtle, so I give it 4 stars.
