Overall, the sandwiches were better than those from some slightly more expensive bakeries. There was also a special section selling roll cakes in the station, and we ended up buying one impulsively. Alcohol really has a strong influence!

The Anpo Persimmon from Minami Alps City costs 450 yen (excluding tax). Oh no, they shouldn't exclude tax! It's misleading if it's off by 10%! Organic coffee costs 340 yen (excluding tax). They really shouldn't exclude tax! Am I being too persistent? Well, I'm an old man haha. It's already early winter, but the autumn flavor of persimmons, especially Anpo persimmons, looks like Jimmy Onishi, haha! Visually, it resembles a tangerine or strawberry. Now onto the taste test! And the variety of sandwiches here is impressive. From the impulse-buy-worthy strawberry sandwich to mostly fruit-filled sweet sandwiches, it's a lineup that almost feels like a cast of actors when the cut surface shines. This way, they could likely prepare everything in a central kitchen without the need for on-site cooking. After debating between the Amaou strawberry sandwich and the strawberry and Shine Muscat sandwich, I ended up getting the latter along with an iced coffee. Since it wasn't too crowded, I decided to eat in rather than take out. The system of paying at the counter and then moving inside to pick up the order for eat-in is quite efficient. The collaboration of the winter fruit king and the rookie of autumn flavors feels a bit luxurious. Hence, the price is also relatively high at 500 yen. It feels so expensive to buy this at a convenience store, but not as much when purchased from a specialty shop. However, the strong presence of whipped cream makes it hard to taste the strawberries and Shine Muscat. The bread is slightly dry, but it seems calculated to absorb the moisture from the fruits and cream. It tastes good, but it's hard to say if I truly experienced the benefits of the strawberries and Shine Muscat. If you're craving a parfait but there are no cafes nearby, this could be a decent alternative.

The Wenzhou Mandarin Orange and Strawberry Cream sandwich had chunks of mandarin oranges and strawberries sandwiched inside. It has a firm texture, low acidity, and high sugar content. It looks good and is, in a way, a fruit chosen for the fruit sandwich. The mango has a solid presence, so you can feel it when you eat it (ᵔᴥᵔ) You don't expect the quality of premium mangoes, but at this price, it's more than enough. However, as a fruit sandwich, it's a product that you might end up buying. It's understandable why it's always popular among the fruit sandwiches at Merhen.
