April 22nd (Tuesday) revisited. I went again today. My evaluation remains the same. Today, I ordered the A lunch, which was simmered mackerel (800 yen) with coffee & dessert (+100 yen). The B lunch was natto udon, but since I don't like natto, I had to give up on that. One of the cakes for dessert was sold out, so I had black bean ice cream instead. The A lunch included two small side dishes, sesame-flavored vegetable simmer, broccoli and egg salad, main dish (simmered mackerel), rice, miso soup, and pickles. The taste was still elegant home-cooked style and delicious. The menu is creative and makes me want to visit regularly. However, the biggest charm of this restaurant is the hospitality. The staff is very friendly, and it truly is a great place. There are many places with good service, but few truly make you feel welcomed. This restaurant is one of those few. And that hospitality is reflected in their food as well. In that sense, this is a place I would want to visit again. Honestly, I give 4 stars just for the friendly greeting. My rating of service (hospitality) at 4 stars compared to 4.5 stars is quite different.
April 15th (Tuesday) visit. Finally, I was able to enter the restaurant after wanting to for a long time. I couldn't get in last time because the lunch was sold out. I decided to visit this restaurant after reading the reviews from everyone, and it was worth it. As everyone mentioned, there are two lunch options (both 800 yen). The A lunch was sold out (it was tsukemen), so I automatically got the B lunch. Today's B lunch was Italian somen. It came with two small side dishes and rice. I also ordered coffee & dessert (+100 yen). One of the desserts, the pudding, was sold out, so I had ice cream instead. I was a bit curious about the pudding (I wonder if it was delicious). But the fact that you get coffee & dessert for +100 yen is a great deal. There were two women running the place. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy, and I think they have a good sense of style. They even had knee blankets under the counter, showing a thoughtful touch. The staff's service was friendly and very likable. First, water came out with a hand towel. The lemon water was refreshing. Then, two small side dishes were served. One was a salad, and the other was a simmered dish. The salad was like a macaroni salad with somen. It matched well with the main dish and was delicious. The simmered dish had a comforting taste, like home-cooked food. The main dish, Italian somen, was like cold pasta but with somen noodles in tomato sauce with a half-cooked egg and kaiware. It was delicious, and I was impressed by this unique way of eating somen. The rice with shiso furikake was tasty. The ice cream dessert had black beans, as mentioned in the reviews, and had a Japanese flavor that was delicious. The coffee was also good. However, the ice cream (vanilla) and coffee were ordinary ingredients. Still, for 900 yen, I was satisfied. The taste was delicious, but it felt more like home-cooked food than professional cuisine. I hesitated between giving it a 3.5 or 4 for taste, but I went with a strict 3.5. However, I will definitely revisit, and after a few visits, there is a high possibility that I will raise my taste rating. It's not a restaurant to travel far for, but it's highly recommended for those working or living nearby. The dishes seem to vary daily, making it worth visiting regularly. Especially recommended for those craving home-cooked flavors! Lastly, to Debu Iwa-san, your reviews are ===========
