I have visited this shop several times in the past, but it was always sold out or preparing. I called to make a reservation as they accept reservations, but found out that they only accept one reservation per day, and the rest of the customers need to wait in line. The reservation slots were already filled up for over a month, so I visited around 11:20 on the day of opening. There were already many customers waiting in line. The staff told me to come back around 12:15, so I did. This system saves you from waiting in the heat, which is very much appreciated. I ordered the Unaju Matsushi (4,950 yen including tax). The eel was nicely fatty, and the sauce was not too strong, making it delicious until the last bite. The rice was also firm and tasty. I think the prices are more reasonable compared to shops in the city center.

I visited just before noon on a weekday. Although it said they serve until 13:15, I saw reviews saying they sell out early, so I decided to postpone my plans in Fuchu to visit. The result... it was bustling. The table seats were already full, but luckily there was one seat available at the counter! Lucky me! I ordered the eel rice box with pickled plum for 3,250 yen. It had a whole eel on top, along with eel liver and pickles. It had been a while since I had such delicious eel. The flesh was plump, fine-grained, and tender. The smoky flavor from grilling complemented the mild sauce well. The way the sauce soaked into the rice was perfect. I really liked the sauce here, which was smooth and brought out the deliciousness of the eel. I could feel the simple yet meticulous work put into the dish. I will definitely visit again when I'm nearby. Thank you for the meal!

There is a sushi restaurant called "Skinhead-style" that offers a high-end omakase counter dining experience. The restaurant features a Hinoki cypress counter, cedar lattice ceiling, wooden refrigerators, premium tuna sourced from top wholesalers, sushi rice seasoned with red vinegar, tailless shrimp, over-decorated horse mackerel, small fins, muddy squid, etc. This trendy sushi restaurant in Tokyo offers a reservation-only, expensive, and exclusive dining experience. Japanese people love to follow trends, and opening such a restaurant in a prime location in Tokyo would cost around 300 to 500 million yen. As for hair salons, finding a hair designer you like can be difficult, but following a hair designer who recently changed jobs led me to a salon in Chofu, Tokyo. Combining hair salon visits with dining and shopping has been an enjoyable experience for me, following my 93-year-old mother's hair designer. Planning a haircut and shampoo session is easy, and I recently visited a popular eel restaurant for lunch beforehand. The restaurant served delicious eel dishes quickly, and I enjoyed the meal.

Unagi no Kimura @ Fuchu City, Tokyo @ Unagi Kimura is a favorite restaurant of mine, but it often sells out early in the day, leaving me disappointed. Finally, on February 16, 2021, I was able to revisit the place for lunch. It is located right by the north exit of Fuchu Station on the Keio Line. The lunch crowd was full today as well. The seating was divided by sliding paper screens, and the counter had acrylic dividers for COVID-19 prevention. The eel bowl is priced at 2,420 yen (small size is 1,870 yen), and the eel set meals come in four varieties: Ume (3,250 yen), Take, Matsu, and a 2-tiered set (5,560 yen). They also offer grilled eel set meals, grilled white eel set meals, grilled eel with sauce set meals, eel and rice bowl, eel porridge, and eel rice soup. I chose the Ume eel set meal priced at 3,250 yen including tax. The restaurant smelled delicious both outside and inside, and although I was tempted by the grilled white eel, I ultimately chose the grilled eel. The Ume eel set meal, the second from the bottom of the 5 levels, had a generous amount of eel filling the multi-tiered box. The liver soup here is exceptionally delicious, ranking at the top level. The pickles included cabbage, pickled radish, and cucumber, providing a nice variety of sides. In Fuchu, my favorite eel restaurants are Kimura, Uomoto, and Oshida, but unfortunately, Oshida has closed down, leaving me with two choices. Thank you for always serving delicious eel. "When it comes to eel in Fuchu, this is the place!" I heard this from a local, so I decided to check it out with my husband's extra income. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and you might easily overlook it if you're not paying attention. The exterior exudes a warm feeling of wood. There is a menu displayed outside, so make sure to check it out to get an idea of the dishes and prices. Oh, I see. The prices are quite high. It's almost on par with eel specialty restaurants in the city center. This raises the expectations quite a bit. Inside, there are three table seats and two tatami seating areas. Once seated, it's time to decide on our order. I think I'll go for the eel rice bowl. The eel rice bowl here comes with one whole eel for the plum version. As you go up in size, the amount of eel increases, and the plum decreases. Let's go for the "Matsu" option to get plenty of eel. My husband opted for extra rice, while I went for the regular amount. - Eel Rice Bowl "Matsu" (4,260 yen) Finally, the eel rice bowl! It came with eel liver and pickles. As soon as I picked up a piece of eel with my chopsticks, the flesh was soft and tender. The skin was also soft and easily fell apart. When eaten with rice, the sweet and savory aroma of the sauce wafts through the nostrils. The charcoal flavor is a bit subtle. The distinctive taste of eel might be a bit light, but the soft and luscious finish is delightful. There was no issue of running out of rice or having leftover eel, as it was served in a perfect balance. The eel liver and pickles were a nice touch. When we left around 7:30 pm, the restaurant already had a sign saying they were sold out of eel and closing. If you definitely want to try it, I recommend visiting early. Thank you for the meal."

I wanted to eat eel so I visited this restaurant for the first time! I heard that there might be a line on weekends and holidays, but since it was Wednesday, I was able to get in right away and felt relieved. The smell of eel being grilled when entering the restaurant quietly stimulated my appetite. The staff were lively and refreshing to watch. The interior of the restaurant and the restroom were clean and well-maintained. I ordered the "Matsuzaka" eel dish. When I opened the box, there was so much eel laid out that I couldn't see the rice underneath, allowing me to fully enjoy the eel. For those who want to eat more, there is a double portion option where you can have rice, eel, rice, and eel, so feel free to try that. My husband ordered a large serving of rice. The eel was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sweet and rich sauce coated the rice perfectly... I couldn't stop eating! It was delicious! Personally, I would have liked a bit more rice compared to the sauce, but my husband seemed to really like the eel here and wants to come back again. Yes, I totally agree! Let's not worry about salt intake and just enjoy the eel when we eat it! Sometimes at fancy high-end restaurants, the taste and portion can be underwhelming for the price, but here, you can truly feel satisfied with what you paid for. The eel dish with a rich flavor was so delicious... I will definitely come back again!

I ordered pine needle grilled eel. The eel came in 3 pieces. There was a lot of pickles. The soup was delicious. The eel was tender. The sauce that came with it initially was sweet, but the additional sauce was a bit spicy.

I ordered the eel rice bowl set for 3,180 yen. It was delicious, but it's tough that eel prices have gone up overall, making it harder to enjoy casually.

Get off at Fuchu Station North Exit and walk for 5 minutes. As you enter the shop, you are surrounded by the soft warmth of wood. First, start with the shrimp chew! For side dishes, enjoy eel liver simmered, liver grilled, and fin grilled while waiting for the arrival of the bento box. The simmered liver melts in your mouth, with a gelatinized texture that spreads through your taste buds. It's so delicious! Add a sprinkle of sansho pepper to the liver for an even better taste! Add some rice wine! Then the grilled fin is ready. Unlike the skewers at an eel restaurant, this one is all fin with no leeks. This allows you to enjoy the tenderness even more. At the same time, you can also taste the richness of the eel's fat. While enjoying the delicious side dishes, you can hear the high metallic sound of charcoal being struck in the back kitchen. This sound also enhances the experience of this great meal. Finally, it's time to open the bento box. As you lift the lid, take a deep breath 30cm above the eel. The aroma of the sauce, rich in delicious fat, reaches you. You can also sense a hint of smokiness. The bento box has a beautiful color from being grilled perfectly. When you put your chopsticks in, they easily reach the rice without any resistance. It's incredibly tender. The feeling you get from the chopsticks is the same as the texture you experience when you take a bite. The slightly sweet sauce is easy to eat, and the rice grains are firm! However, I feel a slight sense of something missing in the aftertaste. I think it might be because the eel lacks the inherent strength it should have. Perhaps it's due to the size of the eel itself. But with my empty stomach, I couldn't care less about that. My chopsticks keep moving. Halfway through, I sprinkle some sansho pepper and devour the rest in one go. I finish by slurping the liver. Thank you for the meal. I believe this plump and tender texture is suitable for a wide range of people, from children to the elderly!

I had the unagi set meal "Ume" for 2970 yen and the grilled unagi for 2800 yen. This restaurant is located across from the east side of Hotel Continental Main Building near Fuchu Station North Exit. I used to live in Fuchu City before leaving Japan, so I decided to have my last meal at this restaurant. The entrance had a heavy sliding door with a short curtain hanging down. Inside, there were table seats on the right, private rooms at the back, and a kitchen and counter seats on the left. They offered a variety of unagi dishes, including kabayaki and liver skewers. I ordered the grilled unagi and some drinks. The grilled unagi was served first, with a strong steamed flavor and fatty meat that was not too bitter. It was a faithful reproduction of Edo-style unagi. Wasabi was grated on a grater with soy sauce served separately. The unagi set meal I ordered was the second cheapest option, "Ume," which came with a whole unagi on top. The kabayaki unagi was a standard preparation that lacked uniqueness but was still enjoyable. The only downside was that the rice was a bit hard in some parts, as if it had been left for too long after being cooked. I felt that the prices were a bit high for a local unagi restaurant, similar to those in the 23 wards of Tokyo. Trying to replicate the famous restaurants in the 23 wards at the same price in the suburbs might not attract customers, as they would likely prefer to visit the famous restaurants in the 23 wards.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I had a pleasant dining experience thanks to the excellent service from the staff. I started with ordering a beer and "grilled liver" and "simmered liver," both of which were priced in the 500 yen range. Despite the reasonable prices, the "grilled liver" was generously portioned and the "simmered liver" had a satisfying amount. The appetizer of "bones" was surprisingly large in size, but I enjoyed it with my beer. For the main dish, I chose the "unagi rice bowl set" which came with "liver soup" and "pickles." There were about four different options for the amount of eel, and being a big fan of eel and having enjoyed the "grilled liver," "simmered liver," and "bones," I opted for the "pine" which had one and a half eels and cost in the 4,000 yen range. The eel was thick and tender for this season, providing a delightful dining experience.

I visited the famous eel restaurant Kimura in Fuchu for the first time. I made a reservation for lunch at 11:30. There are four types of eel dishes available - plum, bamboo, pine, and white broiled eel. The quality of the eel is the same, but the amount of meat increases as you go up in types. I ordered the pine eel dish and also a white broiled eel with chawanmushi. It took about 30 minutes for the food to be served. The eel dish was very generous in portion and tasted delicious. It came with pickles and eel liver. I enjoyed sprinkling some sansho pepper on the remaining eel, which enhanced the flavor even more. I especially liked the white broiled eel, which tasted amazing when eaten with wasabi and green onions. It was a delightful experience and the food was perfect for accompanying drinks. The chawanmushi was also very delicious, even better than what you would find in a high-end restaurant. I was a bit nervous before entering the restaurant, but the staff were young and friendly, making the dining experience very pleasant. The prices are a bit high, but compared to eating eel in the eel capital of Tokyo or Shizuoka, it may be considered affordable. I would recommend this restaurant for when you want to indulge in a luxurious eel meal.

This restaurant is located in the shopping street on the east side of Fuchu Station, a 2-minute walk from the north exit of Keio Line Fuchu Station. It is a corner eel restaurant that has been in business for 19 years. When I arrived at the restaurant around 12:20, there were 8 customers inside. We ordered the Kabayaki set meal (Matsu) for 4,300 yen and the Unagi Yanagawa set meal for 2,410 yen, along with two bottles of hot sake for 510 yen. We shared all the dishes. The Kabayaki set meal (Matsu) comes with a whole eel kabayaki and half a grilled eel to choose from, along with chawanmushi, small side dishes, rice, pickles, and eel liver. The meal started with hot sake and eel bone tempura as an appetizer, followed by eel liver simmered in sauce. The tempura was decent, and the liver was slightly sweet. Next, half a grilled eel with plenty of wasabi, green onions, and soy sauce came on a square plate. The steamed eel was fluffy and tender, and the wasabi, green onions, and soy sauce complemented it well. Then, a small chawanmushi with plenty of mitsuba leaves was served, with lots of thinly sliced shiitake mushrooms and a good broth. The Unagi Yanagawa set meal was bubbling hot, topped with mitsuba leaves and partially cooked egg, and the grilled eel had a light sear on the back and was delicious. The pickles were also quite good. It felt like a nice local eel restaurant in the neighborhood. I hope they don't become too expensive during this season.

When it comes to eel in Fuchu, Eel Kimura is the place to go. On hot days, you need to line up before noon to avoid it selling out, but during this season, you can usually get in without much of a wait. However, it's still almost always full. The eel itself is not from a famous shop, but in a good way, it's just your average neighborhood eel restaurant. They don't prepare the eel after you order, it's already prepped, so you only have to wait about 20-30 minutes to enjoy your meal. The eel is plump and has a gentle flavor. While the grilled eel with wasabi soy sauce is also good, I recommend trying the eel on rice with sauce at this restaurant. It's a great experience to stop by on a holiday, enjoy the liver simmered in soy sauce and the complimentary bone crackers, sip on a cold beer, and finish with the eel on rice. It's the perfect way to spend your time.

Despite being a fan of eel and going around trying different eel restaurants, for some reason I had never been to this place, which is rumored to be the best in the area. So, the other day, I made a reservation and visited for the first time at 6:30 in the evening. The restaurant located next to the Continental Hotel has a nice old-fashioned atmosphere, both in its appearance and inside the store. The interior is simple yet well-maintained, with tables and a raised tatami seating area. This time, there were two of us, and we were seated at a tatami table for four. The tatami seating has two seats, and it's not a hori-gotatsu, so it was a bit tough for me with bad legs, but it might be safe and convenient for families with small children as they can lay a baby down to sleep. However, despite the small size of the restaurant, smoking is allowed in all seats, so those sensitive to cigarette smoke may want to avoid it. Now, since it was my first visit, I wanted to try both shirayaki (grilled eel) and kabayaki (broiled eel). First, I ordered the shirayaki and while waiting for it, I also ordered uzaku, umaki, and kimoyaki. Surprisingly, the kimoyaki came out almost immediately, almost at the same time as the beer! It was like a surprise attack! I barely had time to eat the bone senbei appetizer. The timing was so quick that, although it wasn't bad, the taste was just okay. After that, the shirayaki came out even faster than the umaki, which was disappointing. I ordered them at the same time, but the shirayaki was a letdown. I was disappointed. I learned my lesson, so I made sure to order the eel kabayaki set with a bit of a delay, so I could eat it while it was still warm. Already not expecting much, the eel set was okay and enjoyable. However, by 8 o'clock, we were the only customers left, and the staff was starting to close up. Ah, so that's why they rushed the food out. It seems like a good restaurant for a quick lunch, I thought during my first visit.
