OYOGE Roppongi, located just a 2-minute walk from Roppongi Station's 7th exit, is a taiyaki shop that opened on March 1, 2020, offering a modern twist on the traditional Japanese treat. The shop has a stylish appearance with flags displaying "Sardine, Horse Mackerel, Clam" outside. They offer three types of taiyaki which can be combined in a box set. I tried the "Red Bean Cream Cheese (Sardine)" and "Pumpkin Caramel (Horse Mackerel)" flavors, both of which were delicious. The taiyaki had a crispy exterior and a fluffy inside, with the red bean and cream cheese blending perfectly in one, and the pumpkin and caramel creating a delightful sweetness in the other. The shop only accepts cashless payments. I highly recommend stopping by OYOGE Roppongi for a unique taiyaki experience.

I tried "Iwashi-yaki" and "Asari-yaki" instead of "Taiyaki". The crust was incredibly crispy and delicious! Even though they didn't seem freshly made, they were very crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and tasted great! The Iwashi had sweet red bean paste with cream cheese, but I couldn't really taste the cream cheese. The red bean paste and the crust were delicious, but I think it would have been better with anko butter instead. The Asari had rum and sweet potato, and the sweet potato was packed inside and tasted delicious! I'm not good with alcohol, but I could surprisingly taste the rum (which was not bad). My friend ordered the Sundae, which had a nice mix of hot and cold and was delicious. I would like to try the limited-time items next time. Thank you for the meal!

After having dinner in Roppongi, I visited this place. It seemed to attract a lot of foreign tourists due to its modern appearance. The menu featured various types of Taiyaki, shaped like sea bream, including "Horse mackerel" and "Clam". I ordered a set of two Clam Taiyaki this time. The filling with rum was delicious.

| What's great about this shop! 🎉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The crispy and chewy dough, combined with the applause-worthy red bean paste and cream cheese, is another perfect match. The cheese flavor is not overpowering, subtly enhancing the goodness of the red bean paste. Also, under the concept of "taiyaki without the actual fish shape," it is different from traditional taiyaki. The fillings are not limited to Japanese flavors, with adult-friendly flavors like rum, showcasing the diversity of taiyaki. Additionally, the involvement of a designer has resulted in a stylish and pop design overall. It is trendy and perfect for social media!
| How easy is it to enter the shop? 🚪
The shop is located on the street level, so there is no difficulty in entering. Despite its stylish appearance and location in Roppongi, the price is around 350 yen, making it an affordable treat even for students.
| What about the waiting time and crowdedness? ⏳👥
I visited during Saturday afternoon snack time, and unfortunately, the limited-time flavor "Horse Mackerel" was sold out... Also, with only one staff member, there may be times when you have to wait for the taiyaki to be ready. The customer after me was told to wait for about 10 minutes.

Sardines, sweet red bean cream cheese for 345 yen, clam x2 with rum and sweet potato for 345 yen. Paid with PAYPAY (for some reason, an extra yen was deducted). It's a small shop that only offers takeout. The prices are reasonable, and the food is unique and delicious! I especially liked the clam flavor. I would definitely want to buy from there again.

Oyoge @ Roppongi (@oyoge.taiyaki) "Sardine (Red bean cream cheese)" "Horse mackerel (Cinnamon banana)" *Takeout taiyaki shop without actual fish! You can choose from three different flavors of fish at all times. I took them out and reheated them at home. The texture of the dough is more like a waffle, fluffy and light. The red bean cream cheese has a hint of saltiness and is not too sweet. The cinnamon banana has an amazing aroma. It was less sweet than expected and easy to eat. Personally, I felt that the cinnamon banana paired better with this dough! Thank you for the meal. Favorite rating: ★★★☆☆ I'm sorry for my poor attempt at cutting open the sardine filling. #oyogetaiyaki #oyogeRoppongi #oyoge #OyogeRoppongi #taiyaki without fish #taiyaki #western-style taiyaki #Roppongi gourmet #Roppongi sweets #Roppongi taiyaki #home cafe #home Japanese cafe #wakameshi #wakameshi_Roppongi

OYOGE @ Roppongi: A taiyaki shop without tai (sea bream). I stopped by after drinking alone in Nishi-Azabu, thinking of buying some as a souvenir for my wife who loves taiyaki. The shop has a lively atmosphere and seems to appeal to foreigners.
- Iwashi (red bean cream cheese)
- Aji (limited edition cinnamon banana)
- Asari (rum sweet potato)
Unlike traditional taiyaki, the surface of the dough is crispy and shiny, while the inside is moist. Each flavor is a bit unique, but they were delicious. However, my wife preferred the regular red bean filling, so she was not too impressed. Oh well...

The concept is a taiyaki shop without taiyaki. I got takeout from "OYOGE" for the first time in a while. It opened in March 2020. It is a cashless payment shop that specializes in takeout, located about 2 minutes from Roppongi Station Exit 7. It is also very close to Midtown. As the concept suggests, the main characters are sardine, horse mackerel, and clam, not taiyaki. This time, I tried the limited edition strawberry white chocolate horse mackerel for 344 yen. The horse mackerel always comes with a limited edition flavor. The owner, a former French cuisine chef, came up with the idea. The dough, inspired by financiers, contains almond powder, rice flour, milk, and brown sugar, resulting in a crispy exterior and a moist interior. It has a different texture from the traditional taiyaki. It might be a nice little gift to bring to someone's house. Thank you for the meal.

I had some errands in Roppongi in the evening and ended up not having dinner until late at night. I happened to pass by OYOGE, so I decided to have some clams and sardines. Last time I visited, I had their Sundae with a tail, so this time I went for the classic dishes. The clam ramen with sweet potatoes was delicious, especially since I was cold and hungry. However, they came in two bags and I accidentally dropped one on the road. I brought the remaining bag home, washed them, and reheated them. Unfortunately, the skin became a bit soggy...

While on a business trip, I stopped by here on the way. I had seen this place in a design book and had been wanting to visit for a while. Nestled just off the main street in Roppongi, this compact and stylish shop offers beautifully crafted taiyaki in the shape of sardines, horse mackerel, clams, and more. I chose the seasonal strawberry and horse mackerel flavor, and it was delicious with a perfectly crispy outer shell. The attention to detail in the design is evident, making it a great gift idea that would surely be appreciated.

There are no sea breams swimming in this taiyaki shop, only sardines, horse mackerel, and clams. The wall of the shop says, "We want to swim too." On the hot plate, a large school of sardines is swimming. Inside the sardines, there is red bean paste cream cheese, strawberry chocolate, and various other fillings. When the writer went to buy sardine taiyaki, they were told that the clam filling was strong in rum flavor, but they decided to try it anyway. They felt like they got a good deal with the two-piece set. The taiyaki was crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, and not powdery at all. The rum flavor was not overpowering, and it paired well with the sweet potato filling. The price for each taiyaki was 334 yen, which was more expensive than taiyaki with sea bream.

On my second visit, the red bean filling was sold out because it was close to closing time, so I tried the taiyaki (or rather, the sea bream) with the limited edition strawberry white chocolate filling. I also ordered soft serve ice cream and a hot chocolate drink with red bean. The red bean hot chocolate was a very sweet drink, and I liked it enough to order it again.

The sardine and shellfish taiyaki are so cute. They are a bit bigger than regular taiyaki and a bit pricier. I took them home and toasted them in the toaster, they were crispy and delicious. The red bean butter has a lot of butter and is tasty. The cream cheese and sweet red bean is a bit more Western-style.

Every day, the taiyaki that was tired of being baked ran away... In place of those taiyaki, now being baked are the sardines, horse mackerel, and clams... It's not a happy occasion, but these three familiar and adorable fish are being baked to a crisp as usual... Sardines, horse mackerel, clams... Three tasty shapes with a message of "respecting individuality" embedded within, they may not be celebratory, but they are the adorable taiyaki of these three fish that are usually plain and unassuming... It's okay not to be festive... It's okay to be as usual... A casual day made a little cuter... aiming for a happy snack... Cream cheese is kneaded in, smooth red bean paste with chunks To eliminate the heaviness unique to chunky red bean paste, cream cheese was added for a smoother texture and easier eating experience... Taking cues from Western sweets Crispy yet moist dough Using ingredients and techniques from Western sweets, we pursued a crispy yet moist texture reminiscent of financiers and madeleines... Freshly baked of course... Even when cooled, the dough is delicious The dough has a crispy yet chewy texture inspired by financiers and madeleines, using almond powder and glutinous rice flour, with a rich flavor from brown sugar... A balance of sweetness, acidity, and saltiness To make the heavy and sweet red bean paste lighter, cream cheese was kneaded in to bring out a smooth texture and moderate sweetness... [Address] 1F, 7-13-10 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo [Arrival date] Weekday [Number of people waiting] 0 [Wait time] 0 minutes [Ordered items] ■ Red Bean Butter Sandwich 350 yen (tax included) OYOGE's dough is baked on the spot, sandwiching plenty of red bean paste and rich butter in the "Red Bean Butter Sandwich"... Warm up OYOGE's dough when ordering, and sandwich red bean paste and butter on the spot! From the hot and crispy dough, the butter with a salty taste and the gentle sweetness of the red bean paste overflow... The OYOGE dough becomes moister and more flavorful thanks to the butter, becoming addictive... Since the dough is pressed warm, it cannot be taken home... This product is limited to those who can enjoy it on the spot.

Located near Roppongi Station, this taiyaki shop caught my attention with its catchphrase "taiyaki without tai." I decided to try it out due to the chilly weather. I bought two taiyaki filled with red bean paste, sardines, kabocha caramel, and clam for 334 yen each. They also offer a variety of box sets to choose from. I also bought an ambutter sandwich to eat on the spot as it cannot be taken home. Surprisingly, the ambutter sandwich was delicious! Made with almond powder, milk, and brown sugar, the moist texture of the pastry was amazing. The slightly warm temperature in autumn was just right, enhancing the rich butter flavor. I personally preferred it over the top three taiyaki shops in Tokyo. However, the main taiyaki flavors didn't quite hit the mark for me. The red bean cream cheese lacked texture and the cream cheese flavor was weak. The rum sweet potato had a strong rum taste, overpowering the sweet potato flavor. The limited edition kabocha caramel added a mild, slightly blurred taste with the addition of caramel. My initial high rating quickly dropped as I tasted the main taiyaki flavors.笑

A taiyaki shop without taiyaki, but instead they offer Iwashi (red bean cream cheese)/Aji (limited edition flavor)/Asari (rum sweet potato). I got one of each to go. The Aji (limited edition flavor) this time was pumpkin caramel. When I tried it, the caramel flavor was quite strong. After taking it home, I toasted it in the oven for a few minutes and the outer crust became crispy and delicious.

[Point] ① The appearance of the store and the name of the store give a stylish first impression. ② The taste of the products is quite ordinary, and the prices are quite high.
➢ The atmosphere of the store seems stylish, so there are quite a few reviews, but the cost performance is poor. Personally, I would not visit again and would not recommend it to others.
[Trigger / Purpose] I felt like having something sweet around Roppongi, and this store caught my eye so I decided to buy something.
[Location] About a 5-minute walk from Roppongi Station.
[Ambiance / Seating / Customer base / WiFi / Toilet / Smoking / Stroller, etc.] This is a takeout-only store, no eat-in option. The appearance of the store is somewhat stylish with neon signs. It seems to specialize in taiyaki, but they don't actually sell taiyaki. Instead, they offer other fish (sardines?) and clams.
[Cuisine] (Reason for ordering, taste, portion size, waiting time, others' orders, etc.)
● Shippo Sundae (¥680)
I bought it because it looked cute, but ultimately, it was mediocre. For the price of around 700 yen, it had nothing inside except for a taiyaki without red bean paste stuck in the ice cream. I felt like having a soft serve ice cream from McDonald's for about 120 yen would be much better.
[Service] The store seemed to be run by one person, but they frequently went to the back of the cooking area, leaving the counter empty, which confused all the customers.

It is located right near Roppongi Nishi Park. They offer takeout grilled horse mackerel, sardines, and clam-filled baked goods. On this day, I had the Tail Sunday. The soft serve ice cream with sardines and taiyaki was a unique combination. It seems that Cynthia was involved in the restaurant's launch.

This is a takeout taiyaki shop located near Roppongi Nishi Park. However, they don't sell regular taiyaki, but instead grilled horse mackerel, sardines, and clams. It seems like a return to the original concept, as there were originally many variations of filled baked goods. On this day, I tried the "Tail Sunday." Although the poster shows a sardine sticking out, the actual item was...what is this? A whale? The combination of soft serve ice cream and taiyaki is wonderful! I was also curious about the pumpkin caramel flavor, but...

The shop that sells taiyaki without any actual sea bream... Their sense of humor is just too good. The "fish" that are not sea bream include sardines, horse mackerel, and clams (lol). The prices are all the same, but when you think about it rationally, it seems quite expensive. However, the appearance is so cute that you can't help but buy it. Clams are sold in pairs for the price of one. Despite feeling like clams are a good deal, I ended up getting the horse mackerel. In the summer, they also have a menu item called the OYOGE sandwich, which is a cold sandwich with soft serve ice cream. I couldn't resist and went for that, but the heat was so intense that the ice cream melted quickly and I panicked. Nonetheless, I am a sucker for seasonal limited-time offers, so I couldn't resist. One thing to note is that the shop is completely cashless, so you need to use barcode payments or transportation IC cards. If you ask for a souvenir box, the fish are just thrown in there haphazardly, like a cooler box after a fishing trip.
