①After the Bon festival holiday on August 17th, I happened to visit Keio University Higashi-mon on a day off. On my first visit, I arrived just in time for the last order but couldn't get a seat as it was full, and the last order was over! The second time, on a hot day, I arrived a bit early, sweating, but when I sat down, the curry was sold out. So, I reluctantly settled for the Neapolitan set. On the third visit, it was a weekday during the Bon holiday, but the place was closed! I had to ask the security guard at the main gate about the day after the Bon holiday and planned accordingly.②On my fourth visit, I arrived right after the lunch opening around 11:05. There were two groups of customers ahead of me. To be honest, the ratings are not that high, and the prices are a bit high, too. I can imagine that the good atmosphere might be inflating the ratings. I felt that even with the Neapolitan set.③However, even though my main purpose was to try the curry, I couldn't resist coming here over other seemingly delicious restaurants. Maybe this is the sad fate of a user of food review sites. (^.^)④I finally ordered the curry set for ¥1800 with an iced coffee. I don't like coffee, but I had tea last time, and on a hot day, I thought iced coffee might be somewhat enjoyable, and even though it's iced, I could still imagine the taste of hot coffee.⑤The salad was the same as last time, just missing the yellow bell pepper, and the dressing was the same too. Having the same salad as before was a bit tough for consecutive visits. The coffee wasn't particularly delicious. I thought hot and iced coffee would be the same price, but the iced coffee was ¥100 cheaper. Why? Maybe the hot coffee is made properly, and the iced coffee is pre-made, but from the menu, both seem to be freshly brewed. I don't understand coffee lovers. So, for someone like me who is a bit stingy, if you can choose between hot and iced for the same price in a set, and if you like both, you might feel like you got a good deal with the hot coffee on a not-so-hot day.⑥The curry set with pork, beef, onions, and a grainy texture, the first bite was like, "Oh, this is good." It tasted better than I expected. Also, the rice had a grainy texture with lots of grains, giving it a healthy feel. However, the red bell pepper as a curry side dish was too similar in color to the salad, which I dislike - ingredient overlap within the same menu! The salad had a plain Italian dressing, while the bell pepper side had a sweet and curry flavor, so the seasonings were different. Ingredient overlap is a bit tacky. The curry had a good aroma at first, but the aftertaste didn't leave a strong impression of having eaten a really delicious curry.※Overall: Even though the ¥1800 price includes salad and coffee/tea, I don't feel the taste justifies a return visit. If it weren't for lunchtime, the curry alone costs ¥1300 (with a mandatory drink order), and the iced coffee alone costs ¥700, so even with a ¥200 discount on the à la carte price of ¥2000, the cost performance seems poor. Well, if you can truly enjoy the sense of being in Keio University and the atmosphere inside the university or the octagonal tower, it might not be that bad. I also found myself enjoying the remaining coffee while listening to the fading cicada cries of the passing summer, and working on my food review on Eatery, the comfortable environment made me feel quite content. Since it's a cafe, I guess it all depends on how you use it.
