The restaurant has about 12 L-shaped counter seats, 1 table, and 4 outdoor tables. There is also a second floor. There are about 4 staff members. The items we ordered are as follows:
- Seating fee (200 yen)
- Sapporo Red Star bottled beer (490 yen)
- Grilled tongue sashimi (520 yen) with plenty of green onions, seasoned with a sauce similar to yakiniku sauce, which I quite liked
- Iwajun pork belly (230 yen) x2, cooked to perfection with salt and pepper, juicy and delicious
- Black Hoppy (420 yen) with Kanamiya shochu (300 yen) x2, served with ice from an ice maker, shochu ratio of 1 part Kanamiya to 4 parts other
- A local chain with 4 stores in Ueno
- Smoking is allowed
- When we visited the store, we were guided to the counter seats
- Charcoal grill is used
- Many signed autographs
- Located under an overpass, so you can feel the vibration of trains passing by

Before the main drinking party, we had a quick pre-party. We started with a toast with draft beer and enjoyed some simmered motsu (offal) with plenty of shichimi spice. The rich flavors went well with the alcohol! Even though it was just a pre-party, we quickly finished a few bottles of beer and had a great time. Next time, I want to make sure to try some skewers too!

I always rely on this place. They serve delicious yakitori made with Iwanaka pork. The staff is friendly and efficient. It's a popular izakaya with a great selection of yakitori, beef tongue sashimi, and simmered dishes. The drinks are decent. If you're looking to have a good time, this is the place to go in Ueno. Highly recommended.

I used it for a daytime drink. The beef stew was incredibly delicious. Especially the tripe stew was really good. The tofu too. The yakitori had a variety from classic items like heart, tongue, and skirt to rare skewers, and the prices were very reasonable starting from 90 yen to 150 yen per skewer. I want to come back again.

A chain of grilled beef tripe restaurants in Ueno. In addition to grilled beef tripe, they offer a wide range of menu options, making it an approachable place to dine. It was still a bright afternoon at 4 o'clock when two people entered the restaurant and found only one other group of customers. We started with "Beef Stew" (450 yen), "Bean Sprout Namul" (380 yen), "Highball" (420 yen), and "Bottled Beer" (490 yen). The famous beef stew contains various cuts of meat, which is satisfying, but the small serving size and lack of soup richness left something to be desired. The bean sprout namul had a classic flavor. We also ordered "Shiro" (130 yen x 2), "Kashira" (130 yen x 2), and a "White Hoppy Set" (420 yen). The grilled skewers were cooked just right, with a perfect tenderness. We then ordered "Reba" (130 yen) and "Harami" (90 yen), as well as "Gold Palace Innards" (300 yen). The taste was consistent, with the reba being medium rare. The harami was affordable. The additional "Nodokashira" (150 yen) had a crunchy texture that was enjoyable. Overall, the grilled beef tripe had a reliable taste, which explains why they are expanding their stores. It was convenient that this restaurant opens early, making it easy to visit. The seating charge was 200 yen per person, and the total bill came to 4,620 yen.

The cost performance is high, so feel free to eat and drink. We had a bill in the 8000 yen range for three people eating and drinking a lot. I think I had about 4 drinks per person. Every menu item was delicious, but the must-try dishes are the simmered offal and seared tongue. The restaurant was lively with many young people!

After eating okonomiyaki in Ueno and dropping off my wife at her destination, I wandered around Ameyoko area looking for a second restaurant. The popular places had long waiting times. A standing sushi bar closed right in front of me. So, I ended up at this place. The staff were all young ladies. I ordered beef stew and motsu-yaki. The motsu-yaki had quite a few items sold out, so I ended up ordering tongue, liver, and pork belly. The stew had a light miso base, tasting refreshing and delicious. The motsu-yaki had tasty meat but was a bit too salty. They overdid it with the salt. For drinks, I had Yarikisawa from Akahoshi and shochu highball. The Yarikisawa was quite sour. My memory isn't great, but... thanks for the meal!

Second popular shop in Ueno! Open from 12pm on weekends and from 2pm on weekdays, perfect for daytime drinking. Recommended dishes include Tan Stew, Grilled Tan Sashimi, "Oppai" (Breast), and "Chire" (Spleen). Must-try menu item for first-timers is the hot Tan Stew with baguette! Grilled Tan is soft and delicious when dipped in sauce. Unique skewers of "Oppai" (Breast) and "Chire" (Spleen) were enjoyable. Great place to try different skewers with motsu-yaki!

Ueno Yariki "Iroero" At the beginning of the new year, I went to Nogami area with my Kyodai friends for a five-minute attack. The survival rate of this restaurant is low, so I didn't choose it, but their chemical style is strong and impressive. Well...but! I don't hate it either...!? After a light finishing move, I greeted Asakusa and said "Osu! Gotcha!" #East Tokyo Calendar #Downtown Gourmet #Ueno Gourmet #Tokyo Gourmet #Yariki #Yariki Ueno Branch #Grilled Offal #Want to connect with people who love alcohol #Want to connect with people who love gourmet #Skewers #B-class Gourmet #Food Porn #Izakaya #Offal #Grilled Skewers

I was looking for a place to drink alone in Ueno and decided to enter this restaurant. The staff weren't wearing masks, which was refreshing in a way because it added a lively atmosphere. Also, the fact that all the staff were women made it comfortable for me as a guy (lol). The snacks were cheap and delicious! It was a great restaurant.

Today I am having a daytime drink at "Yariki" in Ueno. First, I tried the famous "Tanshichu" dish. It uses a whole pork tongue and comes with a side of bread, making it very filling. It was a bit too much for me and I started to feel full quickly. The "Cream Cheese and Sake Lees Adult Potato Salad" was rich in flavor. For the skewers, I had chicken, pork cheek, and red Vienna sausage. After the pork tongue dish, I think I may have exceeded my capacity. Feeling full...Plan with a kitten.

It is a neighborhood where many people enjoy day drinking on holidays, but today I went with a junior colleague from work after finishing. Both of us are users of the Oedo Line, so we got off at Naka-Okachimachi. It was a Tuesday night, so there were not many shoppers around, but surprisingly there were quite a few drinkers, and popular places like Bunraku, Daitoryo, Hotei-chan, and Takioka were all full. We were just planning to have a quick drink, so we randomly chose this restaurant. I didn't have high expectations, but they had a wide variety of motsu-yaki skewers, including some rare cuts. On the other hand, most of the other dishes were pre-packaged or bottled, and seemed a bit lackluster. We ordered the popular "Janchu" shochu, which cost \1500. We also tried the signature dish, the pork tongue stew. It was very tender and flavorful, although it could have been warmer. The motsu-yaki skewers were delicious, especially with the special garlic sauce. Overall, the restaurant turned out to be more delicious than expected. The standout dish was the "Red Wiener Isobe-age," which was a unique and tasty item. I wish other izakayas would offer something like that.

After visiting the National Museum, I headed to Ameyoko and went to a newly opened yakitori restaurant called Nakechira. I ordered skewers of cartilage, heart, beef stew, and grilled tongue sashimi. The stew was huge, definitely not something you should order alone! The tongue sashimi had a good texture and was a nice appetizer. The skewers were grilled just right, and it's a nice place to casually enjoy a meal alone at night. The staff were a bit loud chatting amongst themselves, which was a little distracting, but their service towards customers was excellent. I'd love to come back for a leisurely drink at night once the pandemic settles down.

I was a bit bothered by the fact that there was a staff member not wearing a mask at the crowded meeting spot. But if you don't mind, then it's fine. Some people might find it concerning though. The staff members were cute. The service was average with no particular warmth. I wouldn't specially choose to go there again among the many izakayas. It's cheap, has a wide menu selection, so it's good for bar hopping.

Hello everyone, it's Mozzonist here, continuing business as usual despite the current situation. Today, I visited one of the three branches of Yariki, located in the Ueno area. The main branch started in 2012, this branch opened in 2019, and they recently opened another branch called "Tono." The atmosphere at the first branch was great, with a nice open-air setup under the train tracks, providing a cool "food stall" vibe. The staff had tattoos and were full of energy. I started with a simple white Hoppy beer for 420 yen, which was a bit pricey, but the glass size was also smaller than expected for 300 yen. The other drinks were also a bit expensive, like the 1-liter bottle of shochu for 1500 yen. The food menu mainly focused on motsu-yaki (grilled offal), but they had a good variety of other dishes as well. I tried the tuna cheek for 350 yen, which was surprisingly high-quality and worth the price. I also had the "oppai" (breast meat) for 150 yen, which was a rare cut and tasted delicious without any unpleasant smell. The pork belly skewer for 230 yen was also good, with a nice balance of saltiness. Overall, I had a slightly incomplete feeling but was satisfied with the experience at Yariki. I would visit again if the drinks were a bit cheaper. I plan to visit their other branch, Tono, soon for a complete experience.

I passed by a restaurant in Ueno at 9 pm on the day when the state of emergency was declared. Most of the shops in Ameyoko, a shopping street that originated from the post-war black market, were closed or operating with reduced hours in response to the government's request. There was only one corner brightly lit up in front of this particular restaurant. They had set up many tables and chairs on the street for customers to dine, making efforts to maintain a safe distance between them. It was impressive to see this restaurant in Ameyoko still open and bustling with customers. The staff had posted signs about their efforts to combat COVID-19, but there were some areas where cleanliness seemed lacking. The grilled skewers were delicious, with prices ranging from 110 yen for kashira to 220 yen for tsukune. The restaurant seemed to specialize in meat dishes, and their drinks, like Hoppy, were reasonably priced. The owner of the restaurant had recently appeared on TV, expressing frustration over the government's restrictions on dining establishments. In my opinion, while this restaurant may not be the cheapest or most refined in the Ueno area, it is worth a visit for its unique atmosphere and tasty dishes.

For dinner on this day, I went to Ueno Station. The other day, I had a hard time with self-restraint in Kitasenju. I wonder how it is in Ueno... Under the elevated tracks from Ueno to Okachimachi, there are plenty of open izakayas. I decided to go there. As expected... Still, many shops were either operating with shortened hours or closed. However, some were open. All of them were quite open and spacious. They were operating with tables set up on the sidewalk. I prepared myself and went in. However, the entrance was left wide open, so it was almost like being outside, and I couldn't take off my jacket. ● Table charge: ¥100 (excluding tax) ● Deep-fried octopus: ¥450 (excluding tax) This was quite tasty. ● Potato fries: ¥380 (excluding tax) A bit too much ketchup, too big. Too much salt! ● Iwajun pork belly: ¥230 (excluding tax) A bit too fatty. ● Tomato meat-wrapped cheese: ¥250 (excluding tax) ● Classic! Beef stew: ¥450 (excluding tax) I ordered this because it seemed like a specialty. The meat was a bit too big... It was difficult to share and eat. It felt a bit too strong in flavor. ● Specialty yakisoba: ¥520 (excluding tax) The chewy noodles with a sweet sauce were delicious. There was a small amount of cabbage. The chicken liver-like meat in it didn't suit my taste. ● Draft beer: ¥490 (excluding tax) ● Apple sake: ¥450 (excluding tax) ● Highball: ¥420 (excluding tax) ● Ginger ale: ¥350 (excluding tax) Total: ¥5,130 (including tax) Hmm, it was quite expensive... I was lured in by the delicious smell and ended up at a restaurant specializing in motsu-yaki and simmered dishes. I started with a bottle of Sapporo Red Star beer for 490 yen, along with some motsu-yaki tongue basil for 130 yen, oppai for 150 yen, and nodokashira for 150 yen. The tongue was decently sized with a hint of basil flavor, while the nodokashira had a satisfying crunch. The oppai was rich in fatty flavor. I ordered a refill of Asahi Super Dry for 490 yen. I find that switching from Red Star to Super Dry leaves a refreshing taste.

Due to the self-restraint mode, I found myself leaning towards Ameyoko. There were quite a few people around, and the Yariki restaurant was crowded with customers. I decided to revisit it as I had a good impression from before. It's a delicious restaurant that is relatively empty in Ameyoko. The grilled tongue sashimi was delicious. The marinated skewers were also tasty. I wonder if they use fresh meat...
