Te Amo
This week, it felt like the hustle and bustle of people returning to how it was before COVID, with cars, trains, and planes all crowded. Surprisingly, the parking lot at Takashimaya on a typical weekend was not as stressful as usual, with no long lines of cars waiting on the street, making it easy to find a parking spot quickly. Around 3 PM, I went to the main building and although I was the 19th in line, I made a reservation for the Beauty Adori (however, it took almost 2 hours to be notified that a seat was ready). I then moved to the South Building and passed by the sushi chain Kanazawa Maimon-style restaurant, where there were no waiting customers and I was seated at the counter right away. I ordered the recommended items for the day, including Striped Jack (460 yen), Red Seabream with Kombu (290 yen), Squid (480 yen), Sea Urchin (800 yen), White Shrimp with Kombu (430 yen), Squid Tentacles (580 yen), Golden Eye Snapper (460 yen), Fresh Squid Tentacles (300 yen), and Grilled Sushi Roll (550 yen). The squid was fresh, with a nice chewy texture, and the white fish and squid were delicious with salt (although I forgot to mention it, the chef salted them before serving, showing good understanding).
