The reviewer describes their experience at a restaurant called Yotsugi Seimenjo, where they initially felt out of place due to their casual attire but were warmly welcomed by the master. Despite feeling hesitant about entering the bar-like establishment in Asakusa, they were eventually accommodated with a seat near the entrance. They also mention meeting a familiar patron and two beautiful women during their visit. The reviewer appreciates the consideration shown to them by the staff, especially as they had traveled from Saitama to Asakusa.

On July 4, 2023, I went to M Shokudo for the first time, only to find out that they were unexpectedly closed. This is the second time I've been turned away. I decided to regroup and headed to this renowned restaurant with early opening hours. I arrived at 3:40 PM and there was one group of three customers already there. I was seated at the counter by a cool-looking bartender who efficiently took my order. I ordered the classic highball, which went down smoothly and was absolutely delicious, quenching my dry throat. It was an exceptional highball, just like the one I experienced at the Ginza branch. After enjoying three drinks, I left the restaurant. When I asked if I could take a coaster as a souvenir, just like at the Ginza branch, they politely declined and gave me a used one instead. It's a nice memento, and I'll continue to collect them. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and full. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

After enjoying the beef stew at Yoshikami, I visited this place. It was a quiet Monday night after the Sanja Matsuri festival, just as I had hoped - not too crowded. Since it was empty, I pulled up a stool at the counter and decided to leisurely enjoy my drinks. Starting with the classic Suntory Highball without ice. The atmosphere at Suntory always helps me relax. For my second drink, I requested a cocktail. The criteria were: red, vodka, short, not too sweet. I ended up with a Cosmopolitan. Feeling a bit tipsy, I moved on to my next destination.

I visited a highly-rated restaurant with a rating of 3.74 located in the back alleys of Asakusa for the first time. After having lunch in Ginza, I decided to check it out. The area is filled with powder-based shops, giving off a nostalgic downtown vibe, which is quite calming to walk around in. According to the website of the "Sanbo Group" which has 15 branches nationwide, there are 4 directly operated stores and 11 franchise stores, I think? During my stamp rally, I visited several stores and noticed a sense of unity in their design. I tried the Havana Martini, which I would describe as average in terms of presentation and taste. If it were overseas, it would feel like a classy neighborhood pub. The reason for its high rating may be due to the fact that in Japan where bar culture is not as prevalent, it feels safe to enter, and the interior design is surprisingly elaborate. It had been a while since I had just one drink at a bar, and it turned out to be quite different from what I usually look for in a bar. Just when I thought the Tokyo stamp rally was over, I somehow ended up on the page of the now closed "Y & M Bar Kissling" instead of "MORI Bar," so I will revisit "MORI Bar" and post a review on "Y & M Bar Kissling."

We wrapped up our tour of Asakusa's top 100 restaurants at Asakusa Samboua! We ordered a platter of smoked meats and enjoyed it with beer. The smoked bacon was so delicious that the beer went down too easily - I had a great time drinking in the cozy standing bar atmosphere!

It was during Golden Week, but it wasn't crowded at all, lucky me! I ordered a Cosmopolitan, and as it arrived with a clinking sound, a glass reminiscent of a pink dress was placed in front of me. I enjoyed a lovely time sipping on my favorite cocktail while reading my favorite novel. The bartender was in the mood for chatting with talkative customers, but also gave space to those who wanted to be alone. It felt like a tender stop for different versions of kind souls. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

I visited Asakusa Sanboar located near the famous Kaminarimon gate in Asakusa, known as the top tourist spot in Tokyo. It is selected as one of the top 100 bars on Tabelog in 2022. The access is about a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Station and Tawaramachi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. It is also within walking distance from Asakusa Station on the Toei Asakusa Line. Facing Tanuki Street off the Nakamise Street leading from the station, it has a stylish antique appearance with brick walls. Upon entering, you will find a stylish space with a brown color scheme. There are standing counters and table seats available. In the counter's backyard, many bottles are neatly displayed. The owner, Mr. Yoshitomo Matsubayashi, with a bow tie tightly fastened, shakes a shaker. It was opened in February 2011. I heard that it is the 13th store of a bar representing Kobe Kansai, founded in 1918. Today I had a cocktail of lemon and elderflower. It is a refreshing citrus cocktail. Since it opens early at 2:00 p.m., it is a bar where you can stop by after lunch. Thank you for the meal.

I had been thinking of going in several times but didn't have the courage to go to Sanboa in Asakusa. Huh? Are they open...? Hm? Are they closed...? I wandered around in front of it, but they were open! It had a cool and chic atmosphere that felt like something you'd see in old dramas or movies. There were counter and standing table areas, and just one master behind the bar. Since it was a busy day, I only had their specialty!? - one highball. I usually don't order highballs, but if it's the recommended item at the restaurant, why not! The highball they served in a glass was nothing like those thin, maybe-alcoholic drinks you find at izakayas. It was a proper, strong alcoholic drink! Is this what a highball is supposed to be like? If so, it's delicious and easy to drink!! I visited alone, but if I could get used to it, this would be a cool place to frequent. Thank you for the meal.

The first visit to the counter or stand, you can choose, the atmosphere is cozy and very comfortable! It seems like the staff is working alone, but they are friendly and talkative. I ordered a Ichiro's Malt with soda, and it was really strong and good! The cost performance is great. I was full after one drink, so next time I will visit when I'm not too full and have a few more drinks! Thank you for the meal!

I traveled to Tokyo and Kanagawa for the national travel support in 2023, focusing on food and sightseeing. I want to visit as many Tabelog Award & Top 100 restaurants as possible. Here are some notes from this trip: Tabelog Gold①, Top 100 Sushi Tokyo①, Top 100 Bread Tokyo②, Top 100 Bread EAST③, Top 100 Sweets Tokyo④, Top 100 Sweets EAST③, Top 100 Ramen Tokyo①, Top 100 Ramen EAST①, Top 100 Chinese Cuisine EAST②, Top 100 Hamburgers①, Top 100 Cafes③, Top 100 Cafes①, Top 100 Bars⑥, Top 100 Dumplings①, Top 100 Asian & Ethnic Tokyo①, Total 30 places. Visited in March 2023 during an early bar time. Tabelog rating at the time was 3.74. Tabelog Bar Top 100 2022. Ordered a Suntory Highball. Overall, while strolling around Asakusa, I visited Suntory Asakusa, one of my destinations this time. Ever since having a Suntory Highball at a bar in Matsuyama, I've wanted to visit here. The quiet master runs the place alone. Of course, only the popular adult Highball is available, right? Ah~ getting tipsy now. Well, time for dinner, let's find something to eat! Showed utmost respect to all the ingredients encountered, thank you for the feast. ☺️

Visited "Sanboa Ginza" from Asakusa Station on the Ginza Line, a bar listed in the top 100. Arrived around 8 p.m. on a weekday and there was no wait. Was able to enter smoothly. Ordered their famous highball without ice. It was served promptly. Although there were no visible bubbles of carbonation, it was definitely a highball. Smooth and delicious without the sharpness of alcohol. Thanks to the lemon peel, it was refreshing. It's understandable why it's popular. Enjoyed it until the end.

I visited this bar, a long-established bar called "Asakusa Sanbo" located about a 5-6 minute walk from Taharamachi Station on the subway. This restaurant also has multiple locations in Ginza, Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, and other places, and it seems to be a well-known old-fashioned bar. I visited on a weekday Monday after 9 pm, and was able to enter smoothly. There were only 3-4 group customers and 2 solo customers already there. For the menu, I first asked the master of the shop to recommend a reasonable whiskey, and started with a Harper on the rocks. Then, for the second drink, I ordered a classic gin and tonic. - Charm ¥300 (excluding tax) - Harper on the rocks ¥1,400 (excluding tax) - Gin and Tonic ¥1,200 (excluding tax) - Total amount ¥3,190 (including tax) As for the taste, the Charm was a simple peanut with skin, but it was fragrant and paired very well with the alcohol! The Harper on the rocks used quite nice ice and was very easy to drink, but be careful as it can make you feel tipsy quickly... The second gin and tonic had a unique flavor, with a slight citrus scent, and was also quite easy to drink, making me feel tipsy quickly! In summary, the counter seating is standing-room only, but there were table seats available, and the chic and calm atmosphere inside the restaurant was impressive. It would have been perfect if the interior was non-smoking, but overall, it was a very cozy place! Thank you for the meal! I will visit one of the locations again if I have the chance!

First time at Asakusa Sambou. Quite a large seating capacity but surprised it was run by only one staff. I had the famous highball without ice, and my wife had cold brew coffee. They came with peanuts. The highball was surprisingly delicious. We also ordered the dried fruit assortment (660 yen) with pineapple, tomato, and white peach. The total bill was 3,520 yen. PayPay was accepted.

The owner of the four Sanboa restaurants in Kitashinchi, Ginza, Kobe, and Asakusa is Mr. Niitani. He is quite active, with live music and events happening frequently. I visited for a meetup with a classmate. I ordered a highball, while he stuck to his favorite Guinness beer (bottle). Back then, ice was a luxury item used to cool food, and chilling whiskey itself meant that only one piece of ice was used in a highball. This tradition continues to this day. The bartender runs the bar alone. Gentlemen stand, ladies bring out chairs, and we relax at the tables in our own preferred styles. I've visited Gion, Ginza, and Sukiyabashi, but all the stores, including Asakusa, have a cozy atmosphere. However, it seems that only I find the atmosphere cozy, as he seems hungry. After just one drink, we decided to move on to another place to satisfy his hunger. Let's find a place where we can drink a little more leisurely next time... Surprisingly, Asakusa's nightlife ends quite early. After 8 PM, many places start closing, so we decided to head towards the casual Hoppy Street area instead of deeper Asakusa. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I had a margarita and a highball. It's a rare place where you can enjoy authentic cocktails right away during the day. There were many male solo customers who seemed to be stopping by for a quick drink during the day. The margarita had a traditional taste. The highball still had a satisfying kick to it.

I eat out every day to conquer the top 100 restaurants. Today, I visited the long-established bar in Asakusa, Asakusa Sanbo. This place was selected as one of the top 100 bars in 2022. Sanbo is a well-known bar that needs no introduction. It was founded in 1918 and was originally the Okanishi Milk Hall in Kobe. The owner, Mr. Okanishi, chose the name "Sanbo" from the literary magazine "Zamboa" edited by Kitahara Hakushu. There is a system where those who have trained at the bar for over 10 years can receive a certificate to open their own place, and there are 12 masters who have received the certificate directly from the founder and have trained at various Sanbo locations, including the 3rd generation of three lineages. There are 14 "Sanbo" bars in total in places like Ginza, Asakusa, and Kitashinchi. The shop is located in a back alley in Asakusa, and even from the outside, it seems to have a certain dignity, perhaps due to preconceptions of knowing Sanbo. The green signboard is cool. I ordered the famous highball at Sanbo. I also ordered chocolate and beef jerky as snacks. The beef jerky has a special flavor, so I highly recommend trying it.

This is a restaurant that made it to the Top 100 list in 2022. It's a bar located in Asakusa. As it was the last visit to Asakusa this year, we decided to start by visiting a bar like adults. I ordered a whisky on the rocks from Yoichi. They served it with a chaser, ice-cold water, and peanuts. It was a quiet bar where you could enjoy your drink peacefully.

Visited at 2:30 PM on a weekday, and there was no one there apart from a foreign couple who waved at me. The bartender quickly came over, and I had no problem entering. I ordered a bourbon from Tom Collins, just like I do at my regular bar. All the drinks were made with a double base. The Stinger was quite impressive, made with a strong shake. Delicious. A truly good bar. I would like to come back and enjoy it slowly at night.

When you've finished dinner and are looking for another spot, it's quite lucky if you can secure a seat here. The counter is for standing, and there are only 3 tables which fill up quickly. They offer non-alcoholic cocktails as well. However, they don't have a menu, so ordering might be confusing for those unfamiliar with cocktails or alcohol. But if you describe the kind of cocktail you'd like, they will make it for you, which is nice. I ordered a Saratoga Cooler, which had a unique taste but was quite satisfying. It seems that being loud or lingering too long can be annoying, so let's be mindful of that. I think this place is quite useful.
